Hot take: celebrating anyone's death — ANYONE'S — is a ghoulish thing to do. I don't care if it's Mao himself. You can be grateful that an evil person can no longer hurt people without delighting in death.
Right like there’s a distinction between being grateful an evil has stopped and celebrating the fact someone is dead.
Like I can feel relief that the harm and suffering a person has perpetuated on others has stopped but I will never be gleeful that the way it had to end was their death.
I would much rather evil be stopped through remorse and redemption.
'Autumn and water illustration'. Watanabe Seitei. 1851-1918.
The Fonte Fria in the woods of Buçaco, a sort of waterfall with steps, and the area at the bottom which also included a pond with a swan and a path lined with tree ferns where there was a sign apologizing for any holes dug in the path by wild boar that wandered there at night. Then I wanted to go into the woods at night to look for wild boar but I ended up staying in the palace/hotel in the evening to see this wild Portuguese Celtic band called Drusuna. Portugal was like that. This day in November of 2019.
