A Concept

I just got back from watching endgame a second time, and it made me realize something. So AU fanfiction after big marvel movies is really common, right? Well, given the events of endgame, a lot of these different realities where certain events didn’t happen are now actually canon.

There is a canon AU where Loki escaped with the tesseract and probably never died. Steve knows about Bucky before being attacked by him. Hydra thinks Steve is secretly their agent.

There is a canon AU where Thanos didn’t exist after 2014 and infinity war never happened as a result. Natasha never died. Tony never died. 

There are probably so many more possibilities for AU’s that don’t necessarily disagree with or ignore canon the way we had previously thought. Now, these AUs will almost certainly never make it to the big screen, but there is nothing to say that what goes on in them isn’t possible. Which brings me to my big concept:

The FanFiction Multiverse

Its already pretty much exists due to the number of fix-it fics after most big marvel movies, but now it can be something that is, in its own roundabout way, canon. As a writer, you are no longer writing an AU fix-it fic, you are writing a fanfic from one of the other times in the multiverse that was created as a result of endgame. 

As Marvel begins to transition into phase 4, and bring about a “whole new era of heroes,” our fanfiction doesn’t have to be labelled as canon-divergent in order to incorporate or write about the heroes that changed or died. 

Endgame made canon-divergence canon. Endgame created the Multiverse.

You know what, they robbed us of Tony and Pepper’s wedding. C’mon, I want to see the wedding kiss, the vows, Rhodey’s speech as the best man, pretty much everything?? Who attended it? Who caught the bouquet?? Also, I want to know Tony’s reaction when Pepper had an ultrasound? What was his reaction when Morgan first kicked? Was he excited when buying baby stuff? I just wanted to see his smiles when Morgan was born in this world and when he first held her in his arms. Marvel, just make a movie about those 5 years of Tony’s domestic life and I’M FVCKING SOLD!
