“More or less. Especially since some species put more into the number o’ years than others. Gets confusin’ when yer lookin’ at different lifespans.”

“Three or four, or the equivalent; I would’a been their size when I was almost twenty, and I was talking at around th’ same time. Fer all I know, they could be human, kitsune... Maybe even a different kind o’ dragon.”

Lol, I know that, and you know that. Lorrie, unfortunately, hasn’t been a dad for a good few centuries, and is probably a little rusty on what does or doesn’t make a good parent.

"Nuu~" They chirp a new sound, wiggling in happiness before resting their head on his shoulder, "Nooommmm. Nom." They let out sleepily as their eye lids slowly start to droop..

He could feel his heart skip at the new sound, his own purring suddenly growing louder for a few moments. As similar as it may be, it was still new! Lorrie smiled, settling in to sleep as well. No harm in it; It was unlikely he would really move much anyways, after Nom has fallen asleep. “Good night, my little Nom.”

Another happy rumble vibrates in their chest as they nuzzle into his hand as he pats their head, "Nom ♡" They chirp eyes shining, "Nom nom!" They exclaim before nuzzling into his neck, the action filled to the brim with love.

There’s a soft chuckle, the dragon happily nuzzling them back. “That’s right, little one. I wouldn’t miss it for the world.” Lorrie was far too attached to just up and leave his adopted child again; Next time he had to go somewhere, he was most definitely bringing them along. Nom would probably love flying with him.

“Oi. Dragon. Dra-gon, not lizard. I dinnae do that tongue thing.”

A contented rumble leaves them, happy with his words, " Nom nom nomnom nom?" They ask, eyes big and pleading with him to stay. It was obvious by such a look that they had asked him if he was leaving again anytime soon.

Ah. He could understand the worry. “I promise, Nom, I won’t be leavin’ anytime soon.” Lorrie patted their head lightly as he spoke, offering a reassuring smile. “I’ve already missed out on ye growin’ up a bit. I’d hate to miss out on more.”

"Nom!" They exclaim, with a small enthusiastic nod conveying that they had indeed been good, "Nomnom~" They wiggle in his arms getting comfy, once they settled it was clear that they had grown slightly since he had been away, "Nom?" They chirp as if asking something.

“That’s good.” Was it strange to feel as proud as he did? This creature that he’s adopted, simply being good and growing a bit, and Lorrie was proud and content. He shifted a bit as his hatchling wiggled, his head tilting to the side at the chirp. “Yes? What is your question...?”
