They also require a suitable cage, not the tiny little $50 ones you see in the pet store (x)

They require enrichment - tunnels, toys, games, your time (x)

They require healthy varied food, not just pellets and carrots (x)

As they get older, they may require age related medication eg. arthritis and glucosamine supplements

You may live in an area where your rabbit needs to be vaccinated against disease-releases for pest control eg. RHDV in Australia or they will die painfully over 3-5 days

If any of this has you hesitating, that is okay. It is not a race to get a rabbit as fast as you can. Read up on rabbit care and think about if you are able to commit to a 10 year + friend and their care, or if it is better for you to wait and research more, or a different kind of pet is more suitable.

(however, if you’re prepared and ready to try your best, rabbits are pretty neat and fun pets)

Hey I was hopeing you could tell me what brand you use for your substrates?

currently in my shrimp tank i just have plain inert black sand from petco, in the 20g i have carib sea black which is also inert. for a shrimp tank i prefer sand more because it’s easier to clean

hey !!! i really like shrimp n would like to get some but im worried about like overpopulation .... is there a way to not have shrimp mate?? does the population stabilize by itself?? or do u just have to keep moving extras to new tanks??

the less hiding places the lower the survival of shrimp hatchlets. also if you have nano fish like rasboras, scarlet badis badis it works as population control. you could also just sell them ! hope this helps 💕

of course !! they are so good! i used a macro lense for awhile but none of the shrimp ever got close enough to the glass for it

I guess I have just, like, a liberal definition of animal abuse because for me, if you see someone is telling you that what you’re doing will legitimately hurt your animal unless you make a change, and your response is to not care and block the person, then yeah that’s animal abuse. Deliberately ignoring sound advice from multiple experienced and researched sources to continue on your way that harms your animal is abuse. Willful negligence in pet care is abuse. You’re allowing your animal to come to harm out of apathy or ego. That’s abuse. It doesn’t matter how much you think you love your animal, if you ignore their care out of your own convenience and they can or will come to harm from that, it’s abuse.
