Ghost | Eliot & Kuroi | Endgame
After she considered his name, the girl’s eyes seemed to light up with realization. For just a fleeting moment, Eliot thought Kuroi must have mentioned him at least once…!
Oh. Some friend is a fan of the blog he has not even logged into in several days. It wasn’t Kuroi who had mentioned him, it was some girl he didn’t know and was surely disappointing by not posting reviews. Alright.
He forced a small smile. “That’s kind of her. I appreciate it.”
And that was enough of that. He listened to her speak and watcher her tense with anger, but all he could really focus on was the fact that Kuroi had been getting other visitors, too. That only made sense - people liked Kuroi - so why did he feel a pang of jealousy toward those visitors?
He nodded along, his grip on his bag strap relaxing only somewhat. He opened his mouth to speak, but the girl was opening the counter for him, so he moved to step through. His legs felt like gelatin, especially as he followed after her. “Ah, thank you…” He swallowed thickly, his heart pounding hard in his chest. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, too, Shiroi-san.” He paused, climbing the steps behind Shiroi. “…It won’t be too much of a bother to him, will it? I could always come back later…”
Shiroi laughed lightly as she waved her hand.
"Nah, nah; don't worry about it! I'm glad people are going out of their way to see Kuroi, he's been a little...out of it since he got back from that weird computer thing-y."
She then quickly moved behind Eliot, giving him a gentle push towards the curtain. Behind the curtain was quite a bit of machinery, most of it usually to pound the rice. Some of the workers gave Eliot and Shiroi a glance before she shooed them away. She finally stopped him in front of some steps that lead to a door. Fishing out some keys, Shiroi had unlocked the door and guestered Eliot in.
"After you."
Of course, though, Shiroi had pretty much pulled him inside, shutting the door behind her. The other room looked...much like a normal house, and you couldn't hear all of the machinery that was only one wall away. You'd think this was a normal house on it's own. Shiroi motioned Eliot to follow her up some stairs. She was fairly quiet before she broke the silence.
"...That simulation must have been terrifying, huh?"
She had held her hands behind her back as she continued to talk.
"Kuroi told me everything that happened there. You were all forced to kill each other, and the killers got executed right in front of you. I...can't imagine what it must have been like for all of you..."
She looked back at Eliot, a sort of sad smile on her face.
"I'm actually glad you're here. You're the person Kuroi had grown the closets to during the simulation, yeah? Usually he only let the kids from the Student Council visit him, but, he told me he doesn't mind if anyone called ‘Eliot Ghanem’ visited him too. He told me about you, Eliot-kun. I can tell he cares about you a great deal...but...he said that he hurt you a lot too..."
There was a troubled and almost serious look on her face.
"...Is that true? Did he really hurt you? Please be honest with me."
