after their drama in seasons 2 and 3, the last half of season 3 was them just healing and growing stronger as a duo.
and by season 4, casey wasn’t as interested in april, and he and donnie didn’t fight nearly as much.
donnie was giving april wayy more space and was shown to respect her boundaries more.
april was reciprocating more to his flirting.
they were more openly affectionate with each other.
they were both protective and caring towards each other without holding the other back.
there was like no awkwardness between them.
the only obstacle they had in season 4 was the aeon crystal situation, and that wasn’t either of their faults.
and by season 5, they were closer than ever.
in when worlds collide, april was shown to be constantly by donnie’s side, watching his back, helping where she could, and was deeply worried when he was kidnapped.
