Works for up to 48 - 72 hours after exposure to HIV.

it’s not just unprotected sex. when i was assaulted, the guy who did it got his blood on my face from me fighting back, and he was positive and the doctor at the emergency room had me put on prophylaxis immediately. it’s relevant for any situation in which you might be at risk. none of this is to add to any stigma or anything, just something that became needed information in my life and might well be necessary for others as well.
