Hello, old Blog. I'ts been a while.

This little blog of mine used to be such a passion. I used to actually post decent things on here about fashion, things I was involved in in the industry and just my writing, and in all honestly it's gone to hell. I always make up excuses - last year I was working full time and was "too tired" or "too busy". The last 6 months I was dealing with moving to (and from) Ottawa and going back to school.

Enough excuses.

I truly miss the work I did on here; I miss writing, I miss having substance and I'm disappointed in what my blog has become. So, I'm going to revamp this whole thing. I'm going to sit down and figure out what I want it to be so it's not so cluttered and looks like a 15 year old is the author of it. And, most importantly, I'm going to start posting again, writing in general, and putting my love for fashion back out there for everyone to see. The old Kendra is coming back, and man has she missed you.

If there's one thing I enjoy more then the temperature warming up as we get closer to summer, it's the mixtapes and remixes that come out around this time and the anticipation and excitement I get in being able to role down my windows, blast the stereo and drive. One of my must-downloads each year, without fail, is DJ Earworm's United State Of Pop. Basically it's a remix of the past years chart topping hits. So here's this years United State of Pop 2011 - World Go Boom, take a listen! I can't wait until the weather gets here so I can listen to this while driving.

Far From Fairy Tailes

I have come to realize that things in life don't always happen the way we think, wished, or were even taught they would (or should) be. We always have these preconceived notions in our heads, from an early age, of how things are "supposed" to go, which I think stops us from doing things that would actually make us happy. It's a hard thing to put in the back of your mind and change, to sometimes accept that things aren't so black and white and straight forward. Even myself, now, find it hard at times, but I don't give up anymore when things stray differently from what path I expected it to take. Sadly, life isn't like the romantic comedies. He wont be standing outside our window at 3am, nor will he come running in at the last minute for a passionate kiss in the pouring rain to confess his love for us. As hopelessly romantic as those sound, it just isn't how the cookie crumbles. I don't by any means mean it in a pessimistic or depressing way, but in the sense that life throws you curveballs and different situations. When it comes to relationships, they aren't easy and they aren't like what we see in movies, but they are worth the extra effort and we make, and take, what we want from them.

Life is messy and complicated, but without the bad the good wouldn't feel so good. You have to work at the things in life that are worth it, because nothing worthwhile comes easily if you want to keep it.

We all wear different masks, for different reasons. Some masks we put on because it's truly who we want to be, some we wear because we can't bare to face what's underneath, or because it's what someone else needs us to be. And some masks we wear because we hope to stay hidden... but that's the problem with wearing masks; They can be ripped off at any moment.
