In alot of cartoon logic, characters might not care for thier clothes so much since of course it's just an outfit. But providing the significance of how clothing cost and mean to us in reality, i would find it amusing when characters gets upset when thier cloths gets effected from thier environment and speak about the clothe's significance (ie where they got it or how much it cost to get it).

Just an interesting sense of realism provides so much more depth in a character.

Surviving this semester

I'm alive, and will be posting some of the god-awful work I did.

It wasn't much of a success work this time, I did blog how class this semester is mainly to teach how to pitch and create an animated show/movie. But my group's story plot was stolen by my own groupmate and made a terrible shit show of an idea. It was hard to maintain interest, especially when said groupmate practically was bad at everything he was trying to do. Taking over was hard, and the pitching was a disaster...

But I'm free! while that class was a total disaster, I created character designs that I am proud of, considering how I haven't drawn normal artwork in a very long time.

Probably be posting more soon, i want to share some ideas I've been keeping in my head for a while.

Now that I that studied this course, I can also make my own pitch! Originally I had an idea of a toddler's educational show called "Reka Bentuk", (which means; Building Blocks/Creating Shapes). The term Reka Bentuk is synonym for the Malaysian scene since kids often had to take subjects involving building things and such. The idea is more referencing Sesame Street but in a more simplified and almost content farm outlook. Of course, this is a capitalistic world, but I do think the value of this IP can help our local government to utilise an IP to easily create media for children to understand.

Current assignment are a pitch bible, having a hard time to actually be invested into, accounted by my new antidepressants, and the fact that this story was actually stolen from my own group mate to create his own ideal story. Pretty fucked up i know

But now with it being an actual assignment, might as well not taint my original idea and go on with this made up one.

Making an animation pitch bible is hard to think by tbh, i relly have to be ambitious and passionate, which in those two expect im not really so into rn.

Probs will update on here on the works, aiming to creating a male mulan version of malaysian folktale. I wanted a female character tbh but my group mate went off with a male action story.

It would be filled with magic, fantasy, myth and mainly saka, which is a jin or spirit animal that fights for thier owner. A bit controversial since malaysia is now a conservative muslim country and these hex like practices are not allowed. Dispite that i wanted to fight the norm and play and engage with my culture thats long forgotten.

All the process and behind the scenes that it took to make the Spider-cats plush.

I manufactured my plush on Alibaba two years ago, in total it took 6 months. Sample>Revised Sample>Production> Shipping.

The language barrier made it hard and I was quite adamant about the details and I was so worried for my first time making plushies. But now I realised it really wasn't that big of a deal.

It was very costly as a Malaysian with our low currently, but to an American dollar, it would be worth the price better. It was an absolute ambitious project, and i wish i could continue making other characters too in the future.

Introducing my old Avatar, T-Rex!

I made this 3 years ago, I was very into stylized and bold animation style. I wanted to create my own avatar since everyone was doing it, ahhaha. Then later i made her into a working 3D Model!

She was designed based on my typical outfit at the time, my fav colour (green), my sharp teeth, and tired eyes. Not much has changed but i'm thinking of redesigning her in the future to incorporate to my current brand.
