obviously, surface level, it’s bad, those descriptions are horrible. but also why would a human trafficker use a public website with barely coded language? they aren’t gonna do that. that will get them caught.

plus, look at all these listings:

they’re all uploaded very VERY recently. why? most likely because they are troll posts made after the rumor blew up. they’re absolutely disgusting, yes, these are awful things to joke about/pretend to do, but it’s most likely not real.

vinted also is primarily a shop to sell used clothes, so iirc, the seller is required to put an age range, and then the app estimates the measurements. i could be wrong about that, though.

obviously we should be wary of anything that could potentially be harming children. but we also should take a moment before spreading what could potentially be misinformation. no human trafficker is going to outright say “he likes it rough” on a public app where anyone could see. they would probably encode it better or use a different website on the darker parts of the internet. this is very reminiscent of the fear mongering that happened with wayfair, and that turned out to all be fake.

i understand id verification for voice chat, like i understand why you wouldnt want a bunch of kiddos running rampant with voice on but chatting itself?????? the worst part is when they were rolling out voice chat, i changed my age to being born in 1970 bc i was around 13-16 at the time (i cant remember the exact year) and a dumb kid who wanted to use voice chat with her friends, so i'm listed as 21+.and obviously theres not a bunch of old people using roblox. i'm 17, turning 18 in august, and it just feels so isolating and sad
