Kingsley asking the Nein for help and emphasizing he would not go to them if he had anyone else he could trustābut he doesnāt. He has no one but them. Beau saying, āWe donāt even know himāheās not Molly.ā Kingsley insisting thatās not quite true, not reallyāthey are his family, his only loved ones, in every way that matters. (Andā¦Beau says this, but. At one point, King mentions she taught him how to read, and itās such a sweet thought. That doesnāt make them feel like strangers to meā)
He went to them for help, when he was nearly killed again. He didnāt know who else to ask. He has no one else.
He watches Caleb set his ship on fire, and that hurts, butāCaleb says heās going to set the throne roost alight too, and promises they can build something new from it. Maybe one day it will be like a home.
Kingsley rushes to save Jester without a second thought when he sees her down, makes sure sheās stable and healed and gets her on her feet again. Couldnāt risk letting her stay down another moment.
The fact that Kingsley wanted to overthrow the Plank King in the first place because he was a threat to the whole city of Nicodronas, and had designs on the Lavish Chateau specifically. Jester insight checks him on this, wants to make sure heās being honest and really caresāandā¦he does. Heās trying to keep a brave face and hide just how bad it is, but heās genuinely concernedā
Thinking about the moment Yasha says her past with Molly is complicatedāand she says Molly at first before she stops herself, says Kingsley insteadā¦and adds that. Of course sheāll help him. The way she still cares so much, that they still have that bondā
After Kingsley is crowned Plank King, Veth says this castle is pretty nice, that maybe they could stay.
I wonder what itād look like if they did. If they all built a home together. If Kingsley didnāt feel so alone and cornered. (And I will be. Writing many widomauk comfort fics in the wake of this because godā¦I want someone to be there and hold Kingsley after being tortured and nearly sunk to the bottom of the sea all aloneā)
Iām feeling nostalgic about this circus man and his magic man again, so here are some highlights of Caleb and Mollymauk being soft and falling for each otherā

Can we just take a moment to appreciate just how much Tachonis got fucked up by Team Birdwatching? Like, yes, Teor and Cyd were killed in the crypt and Hannan was PWKād on the grounds, but in exchangeā
- Mara the Wing has been rescued
- Koral Tachonis, the current heir of the house, was killed
- the soul gem holding Alba Davinosā soul was stolen
- several pages concerning the construction of the Sea Door ships and their plans were ripped out of his ledger
- the monstrosity that Raimond Davinos was going to become was destroyed before it could be completed
- and they donāt even get to replace him with either of the Pridesires because Thimble got them out of there!
Honestly, despite this being the mission that went the worst out of the three, Team Birdwatching absolutely killed it these last few episodes!
You know I have to wonder if Wick is going to start learning the wrong lessons about how to treat people considering the fact that being (in his eyes) kind, courteous and respectful has only led to him being belittled, insulted and punched. Meanwhile being mean, petty and aggressive has earned him respect, his returned title and the attraction of multiple people.
The only positive reinforcement he's getting is when he's being an asshole š
occtis's first question when he wakes up dead being "woah why are you here" to murray was met with incredulousness but honestly if my brother murdered me and then i woke up with my insides literally showing and the first thing i saw was my thesis advisor, i'd also be pretty confused about it š
