are people aware that they're allowed to enjoy straight(presenting) couples without overcompensating by saying their m/f couple is somehow really yuri actually.
this might not be to everyone’s taste but my favorite thing about campaign four is how on its surface it is very much operating on traditional fantasy “good vs evil” levels.
the whole thing feels extremely storybookesque but it’s the characters who inhabit the world that add nuance and dimension.
aramán, to me, really does feel like an adult fairy tale. not because of any sex or violence or swearing, but in the way it takes familiar, almost one note, tropes and makes them feel dirty and live in.
Ngl the idea of Occtis x Dame Gaya is kinda intriguing…
Super toxic, but intriguing
in the same way that Matt's DMing style highlights Liam and Laura as players, Brennan and Sam were genuinely made for each other.
I've come to the realization that part of my love for Wimble is that it tapped into the dormant Percabeth obsession I've had sleeping in my subconscious for years.
This will unfortunately make me even more annoying about them.
Wait wait that'd make Tyranny Grover that's so perfect

I know this probably just Zebani being demeaning, but her description of "little Armas" here gives me the vision of Armas being a dwarf/gnome/halfling and I think that'd actually be really fun
thimble and her two nickels aka sundered house abominations crafted as a weapon against the world but grew to have a life outside of that in part because of her
Discussions on Wick's sexuality on the timeline, can I just say the funniest thing about Sam saying he didn't know if Wick is straight or not is that it implies that there is a world where Wick is completely straight.
Meaning in that world everything Wick has said about Teor is pure platonic admiration of his masculinity. Which is honestly funniest reading of Wick's character I can think of.
the erasure of wick's relationship to armas in fandom is honestly troubling.
there's genuinely no amount of "but i headcanon him as gay" or loving wick and tyranny that justifies outright ignoring the woman he has repeatedly called "his love" and whose treatment at the hands of his family is a large part of why he turned on them in the first place (he was in love with someone and they told him the Light said she wasn't right for him so their relationship wouldn't interfere with his mother's business deal and now she's missing. come on.)
it's falling into the trap that MANY mixed race relationships in fantasy and sci-fi fandoms fall into, where despite being canon, they are largely ignored in favor of two white characters, or a canon female love interest is set aside in favor of a slash ship.
the optics of the fandom disregarding wick's real relationship in favor of shipping him with other white characters is pretty stark. armas is possibly rungjani or half-rungjani and she's noted by brennan to be a commoner. not the merchant class or the nobility. so this is a class-crossed and possibly mixed race relationship that's importance is being dismissed
i understand that she has not physically appeared in flashback or the campaign proper and that inhibits the ability to draw art or write fanfiction, but it's a bad pattern that she is treated like nothing at all. y'all have done more with less. it's not that hard to acknowledge her existence. and to immediately presume she is dead is just ignoring how brennan tells stories. he is not going to set up a "find the missing person" side quest for someone who has been dead the whole time, because that's bad DMing.
assuming that wick is gay (because repressed ex religious) in full defiance of how much he obviously loves armas is simply ignoring who wick IS in favor of who you want him to be.
it's fine if you ship wick with other people, but pretending like he doesn't have feelings for armas (or that he's just ~confused) isn't true to his character and honestly just makes it even more obvious that a subset of the fandom simply can't handle the idea that a racialized woman could be the most important person in a white man's life
I'm really, REALLY looking forward to Wick's engagement subplot for the next Schemers table. It has so much potential for juicy drama. Will Wick try to get out of it? How will Tyranny react? Will the Tachonis twins try to kill his fiancé? Please let this arc be next
never gonna happen but mmmmmmmm feral angel wick

What I desperately want to come out of Teor's death boon to Wick, that almost certainly won't happen, is for Wick to start taking levels in Warlock with his Patron being whatever the source of Teor's powers had been.
Narratively, it would be such an interesting expansion on Wick's desire to find a true source of light away from the falsities of the creed, and it'd be a great way to explore Teor’s powers in a way we haven’t been able to before his death.
It would also develop Wick’s character and his vow to avenge Teor in a really interesting way without needing to make a big leap in his build like a Paladin would require. It would be especially impactful if he took pact of the blade and it was like Teor’s skill with arms was channeling through him with his connection to this light.
Mechanically it would give Wick a bit more tankiness with a d8 hit die and light armor (or armor of shadows) and since Teor’s light seemed to be somewhat fae in nature (based on his cold open with Thimble), at level 3 he’d most likely get 5 free Misty Steps per day with the Archfey patron ability, which would just be very useful.
If he took pact of the blade it would also allow for the extremely funny option of him making the Einfasen axe his pact weapon, making it so it has gone through nearly a third of the party having that one weapon.
