Discovering My Faith
I was born and raised in a Hindu family, albeit not staunch, my parents were still practising Hindus. So that meant, just like the millions of other kids born into Hindu families, I too had to listen to all the folklore revolving around Hindu gods and goddesses from my grandparents and parents. Obviously I was too young then so I just listened and accepted whatever was told.
As I grew older, I was then exposed to religions other than Hinduism namely Islam, Christianity and Buddhism. At this point (I was probably in primary school), I still hadn't given my faith much thought. To me, religion was just something that is passed down from generation to generation. So since I was born into a Hindu family, I'm a Hindu and as my friends were born into Muslim, Christian and Buddhist families, they simply "inherited" their faith from their parents. And I just accepted the fact that there are numerous different religions that are practiced worldwide by people, and that's just how it is.
As I then approached my teen years, I started questioning certain religious rituals of my own religion. Also, my not-so-religious mom was helpful in the sense that she too didn't believe in those rituals! So I used to have hours of conversations with my mom about the rituals and tales and what the rationale behind them actually is. Then, slowly as I learnt more and more about the other religions through secondary education and conversations with other people, I started questioning things about those religions as well. I either kept all my questions and doubts in my head or poured them out to my mom because I didn't want to hurt or offend anybody.
So at this point, I could say that after all our conversations, my mom and I declared to have no belief in the religious system. We basically rejected the notion of people being divided merely by ideologies that were propogated millions of years back when we were not even alive to see what had happened. It made no sense to me that people were worshipping different "gods" and all those people who claimed that their god is the one and only God strengthened my disbelief toward the very idea of religion. Also, this is also when I saw a lot of videos and posts and comments online wherein people were fighting and condemning each other over religion. So I thought to myself, the very purpose of religion, which is to provide spiritual and mental peace is not being achieved, but rather, the opposite is being done.
Yes, at one point, I thought of myself as an atheist not only because of the insensible logic of religion but also because I just got fed up with religion dividing everyone. However, I didn't find the word "atheist" to suit my actual state of mind at the time, when I still believed in God. I believed that there was some supreme power that created the universe and us humans, but religion was a big no-no for me. So at this point, my mom and I were on the same boat; we believed in God but rejected the idea of religions and all those (sometimes) ridiculous rituals.
After some time of keeping thoughts on my faith aside, I finally rekindled them when I was in university. In university, aside from the time I attended classes, completed group assignments and had meals with my best friend, I mostly spent my time alone in my hostel room. Being an introvert, though I missed home, I kind of enjoyed my me-time there, which was what gave me space to reevaluate what I thought of my faith. After some Googling, I had finally come across something that completely matched my internal thoughts on God. It was this time that I had discovered that I am an agnostic.
But it isn't over just yet. In the write-up that I had read, there were three different categories of agnostics, which I will talk about in a bit, right after I define what an agnostic is. So, an agnostic is basically a person who claims neither faith nor disbelief in God. The three types of agnosticism include hard, soft and apathetic agnosticism.
To put it in simple words, hard agnosticism is like saying "We will never know whether God exists or not, simply because we can't", soft agnosticism is like saying "We currently don't know whether there is God or not, but may be able to draw a conclusion in the future, so let's just withhold our judgement on the existence of God for now" and apathetic agnosticism is like saying "The existence or non-existence of God simply has no proof, and it's not like I care anyway".
So, the big question: which category do I belong in? *drumrolls* I am an apathetic agnostic. Because really, I simply don't care. I like to think of practical solutions to problems I face and I completely don't believe in miracles or the God-rewarding-punishing system, so why should I care? It doesn't make a difference to me. I have witnessed AND experienced things that have led to conclusions that they are all fairy tales that merely serve the purpose of giving people hope and confidence in whatever they are going through. Everything in life consists of actions and the reactions to them. I cannot deny that believing that some supernatural being has a certain amount of control in your life sounds nice and hopeful, but I prefer to think realistically, because sometimes, living in dreamland for too long can be self-destructive. Now, this is when my mom and I are no longer on the same page, because she insists that she believes in the existence of God. Nevertheless, I respect her point of view although I am not in agreement with it, which brings me to my final and most important point I am trying to make.
Stick to your belief and do not force them onto other people. Everyone is unique in their own way; we all have different thoughts and opinions, but that doesn't mean we can't respect each other as human beings and be friends, right? So, if you've made it this far into my post, please never ever force your religious beliefs, or even your general opinions as a matter of fact, onto other people. Keep doing what you're doing based on what you think is best for you. Here's my love to all of you reading this ❤️
P. S. I never got into the details of what actually motivated me to stop believing in any religion i.e. the stories and rituals described by people of various religions and my logical response to that, because I do not want to offend any individual. Also, I never shared my personal experiences that led to me questioning God and miracles because well, that's personal :)
Sayangi Malaysiaku ❤
To my tanah tumpahnya darahku, a very very happy Malaysia day to you! 😘💕 Today is an incredible day for us all to just sit down and think about how far we've come as a nation and how much Malaysia has achieved from the very beginning til date. It amazes me to even think of the numerous transformations we've undergone throughout all these years. Since it's Malaysia Day today, I am intrigued to say a little about how Malaysia has changed over the years and how it will in the future, considering the historical Malaysia Baru transformation. For me, Malaysia Baru isn't really about overthrowing the then-government to put the current one in power. It is more about the newfound unity displayed by Malaysians when we all got together to help each other out to go out there to be able to vote and how everyone made sure they voted, be it for whichever party because every vote counts in making a difference for the betterment of our country. That newfound spirit is what Malaysia Baru is all about; holding hand in hand regardless of race or religion to shape our nation towards a brighter future. It's about the immense feeling of patriotism and love for our country that we shower through our sacrifices for our beloved Malaysia.
The most outstanding transformation I can see this Malaysia Day is the unbelievable amount of support and union shared among Malaysians despite our long list of differences. I think unity is something that can be worked for and eventually achieved with thorough commitment from all parties. And I believe we are heading one step forward in this agenda as we move past each day. It will take long, that's for sure, but trust me, with the help of fair and square governance and a little mind transformation from the people, a prejudice-free Malaysia is not at all impossible. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the people of Malaysia are racists or anything of that sort, but sometimes, we unknowingly tend to differentiate among ourselves in the name of race, religion and God. It's funny though, how we use God as an excuse for us to treat others differently, when I'm pretty sure He loves all His creations equally and would want everyone to be treated equally with zero discrimination. But to be honest, I don't blame the people of Malaysia. I don't blame them at all. I think the root here is that it has always been sort of a culture ever since 1957 where we choose to see everyone around us as people we're just living in a country together with, but rather can't seem to realize that we are all Malaysians; we are all of the same citizenship and that each and every one of us has or is going to contribute to our country no matter how big or small. Nevertheless, I'm so glad to see how we are all slowly trying to jump past this huge rock in our path by opening our minds a little and our hearts a lot by accepting each and every one of us not as Malays, Chinese, or Indians but rather as Malaysians.
With that being said, I think Malaysia holds a bright future in store because, like Tunku quoted as shown in the photo, I believe that the unity of the citizens is the strongest asset any country can possess. Together we shall create more victories, successes, records and histories all in the name of Malaysia. I honestly have no words to describe the pride and love I have for our country Malaysia. Malaysia has been my home for the past 17 years and no country in this world can have a place in my heart as to how Malaysia does (partly because of the delicious variety of food laa hehehe). So, here's to a better Malaysia, a more loving Malaysia, a fair Malaysia, a non-discriminating Malaysia, a war-free Malaysia and a harmonious Malaysia. Selamat Hari Malaysia to all my fellow Malaysians out there. Malaysia ini kita punya! Sayangi Malaysiaku! ❤
P.S. This post is not at all politicized. It's purely meant to spread love among us on this special day. 😁 Lots of love, Jaish 💕

It's 13th of December!!! (Malaysian timezone but who caresssss lol 😝) Happy 28th birthday Taylor Alison Swift! Omg you're 28 and and that makes me feel so olddddd 😅 I still remember the 19-year-old you back then wearing sparkly dresses and cowboy boots with "maggi" hair 😛😙 And man, look at the hot diva you are now! 😍😍😍 As much as I miss the old Taylor (the old Taylor is dead guys 😜), I L.O.V.E the new one even more!!! 💕💕💕 The new Taylor is more badass and bold and dark and just as amazing! 😘😘 Your evolution helped me tbh 😁 Somehow, coincidentally I guess, I needed a changeover this year just as you did and so your changeover and new album helped me a lot 🙏😌 I'm now stronger and bolder and more optimistic all because of you so thank you for that 😙😙 But aside from the dark bold character you built up for this era, the kind-hearted, cheerful little girl full of smiles, is always in you no matter what and I can't tell you how adorable and admirable you are for that 😍 No matter how many times the old Taylor keeps dying as new ones awaken, a little part of the generous and innocent horse-riding girl will always remain 😌😊 Okay, traits aside, can we all just have a moment of silence for the tremendous success of her 6th album, reputation. Religion; a medium for peace or otherwise?
So it's been a while since I posted anything. And these past few days, I've been thinking a lot about religion and everything concerning it, so I decided to pen out my thoughts right here. 😊 Religion. Supposedly something which gives you peace and guides you in life for the better. But is that really so? I think not. Well, at least nowadays not. I think people nowadays are not delving into their respective religions but are rather trying to prove other religions wrong, which is absolutely absurd because I believe religions are just man-made concepts based on people from different regions of the world at that particular time that the religion was created, which means every religion is valid and is different for a reason. It is really very foolish of people to actually take the effort to condemn and criticize other religions instead of just practising their own. Like the other day, there was this discussion I had with someone and it brought us to the topic of religion, and this person claims that Islam is a religion of homicide; all Muslims are instructed to kill non-Muslims according to the Quran (note: this statement is not my opinion, it's of that person I talked to), which I don't quite believe is true. And so, this person went on and on condemning Islam. And, there are more stories similar to this one, but with different people of different religions condemning other religions. Is this what our religion is actually teaching us? To condemn other religions? If so, I would be ashamed to be a person of any religion. So, coming to my point, all these arguments about different religions is actually bringing us nothing but unnecessary hatred and stress. In my opinion, a religion is nothing but a guide for one to lead their life in the right path ie. not stealing, being disciplined, etc. Well, I am NOT a religious person and have never been one 😂 To me, I feel I'm on the right path in life and I don't need those guidelines (religion) for me to succeed. But note this, being not a very staunch Hindu doesn't mean I don't believe in God. I do, I always have. Without Him, I never would've been here, sitting on my bed, writing this post. He is the Creator. He is the Almighty. Without Him, we are nothing but dust. So yeah, I don't need to be a pious person to believe in God. I'm not a fanatic but I have faith in Him. And I believe that's how everyone else should be. As for those who are not quite on the right path, they need religion more than anyone else. They should practise their respective religions as I believe all religions are the same; they teach you how to lead a good life. Nothing more, nothing less. And to those people, who are very religious and pious, kudos to you because you are able to keep up with all the religious practices despite having other things to do in this very busy world. I'm sure those people are all very disciplined and would definitely go far in life. 👍 But to those people who choose to criticize other religions, please for the love of God, for the love of OUR creator, stop. Stop what you're doing right now. Think about who created all of us. Think about why He created both you and me, even though we are all of different race and religion. Think about whether He feels happy about what you're doing. I don't think He is. And I think you should stop right there. So people, my point is, do not discriminate, do not hate and do not condemn other religions. Practice yours as much as you can. If you aren't as religious, like me 😂 it's no biggie. Just love each other as human beings. We are all humans and all created by God. And I can't think of anything else that God would want us to do other than loving and caring for all of His creations EQUALLY. And finally, a big shout out to all who believe in Him! May God bless you all. 😌😘 Have a great day guys! 💞

Okay so it's December 13 Malaysian time (couldn't be bothered to think of the American timezone or whatever 😜) So yeah, HAPPY 27TH BIRTHDAY TO THE ONE AND ONLY TAYLOR ALISON SWIFT (!!!!!) 🎂🎉🙆😀💕 My goodness! It just seemed like yesterday you were an eighteen year old country girl and slaying country music like nobody else. Today, you've reached so far from where you began. You've accomplished so many things that only other people can dream of. You've achieved great excellence in various genres like country and pop, and I'm really really proud of you for all that you've achieved. Okay, achievements aside, let's talk about how much of a gem you are! You are certainly the best, I repeat, THE BEST artist that I've encountered in my life. Not only are you talented, but you are also really genuine and kind and just such a sweetheart and I really really love you. You truly inspire me to achieve things in life, to ignore the haters and to move on with life and live in happiness. I have to say, it's truly an honour being able to know you and who you are and the songs you write. It's really a great honour. So yeah, happy 27th birthday taybae. I'm really looking forward for your new music although I'm pretty sure you're working on it, but it's just that I'm like really really impatient 😝 So yeah, anyway good luck with your future music and other plans. May God bless you always, dear Taylor. Take care and keep slaying. Oh yeah, and Merry Christmas. Oops! I mean SWIFTMAS! 😆 I love you and forever will 😘 Sincerely, from Malaysia 💕
Let Go of the Stereotypes
Stereotypes; probably the most dreaded word in today's world and society. "Boys need to be like boys." "Girls need to be like girls." Where do all these come from, these stereotypes? Why do people keep stereotyping others and judging everybody based on standards set by God knows who? Isn't it already enough conflict in the world of politics and economy? Why does society just love picking on people who don't meet their stupid stereotypes? Why, just why? Well, frankly, I've been a stereotype victim for quite some time. The amount of times I've heard people saying to me that I'm a girl and that I should be like this or I shouldn't be like this is literally innumerable. "You're a girl, you should take care of your facial beauty." What, then boys don't have to take care of their face and can look like shit? "You're a girl, you shouldn't be hairy." I'm sorry, what exactly is my hair doing to you? "You're a boy, you shouldn't be girlish." Who are you to say that? Boys can be whomever they want to be and so can girls. We're all humans and why don't we all try nothing but to accept and love each other as mere homosapiens? To all the other stereotype victims out there, I want you to know that you're not alone. You'll never be alone, because there are just too many people out there judging and stereotyping people each and every day. An advice for all of you would probably be just to keep calm and carry on, but if it does get out of hand, do not be afraid to voice out and speak up for yourself and also millions of others just like you. I believe society will change one day, I really do believe. Time heals everything and I believe that time is right now and that we should all spread awareness to everyone to stop judging and stereotyping anybody at all. Spread peace and love among us, humans. Let the world be happy again. Cheers for a better life! :) -- Jaishree Jaikumar --
