if the studio job had happened while modern social media was around hardison totally would’ve been making kenneth crane fanvids/fancams right. like he’s running the kcraneedits tumblr/tiktok/twitter etc. parker sends the videos in their group chat between the three of them like “hey look another one” and eliot’s like “seriously who the hell keeps making these” and hardison’s like “i dunnoooooooo 🤭🤭🤭” but he absolutely does know. he was up until 1am last night making his most recent masterpiece (set to “he could be the one” from hannah montana if you’re wondering). parker was also helping. literally eating popcorn and watching over hardison’s shoulder adding helpful commentary like “ooh use another clip from that interview we faked where he’s wearing that shirt that makes his arms look really good.” maybe he even keeps it up after the job’s done just to continue pestering eliot and secretly eliot is kinda flattered. and one night when he’s tipsy he’s like “hey uh should we.. should we put out some more kenneth clips someday. for people to use. yknow. uh. just. as a joke. haha. just to give the people what they’re lookin for. hahaha” (still having no idea that it’s mostly hardison himself who is said people). and hardison would tease him and call him a fame slut (affectionate) if he wasn’t so genuinely giddy to make more kpop idol-style edits of his hot-ass husband

Imagine for a second you are Adrian surname The Eridian. Your spouse has been missing and presumed dead for around a decade, and suddenly one day an alien spaceship comes into orbit. And you cheer "Yay alien species have realized we have the same problem and have come to either give us a solution or join or efforts, too bad my mate is still gone."

Except he is not actually gone, because the eridian equivalent of a carebear decided to save them. And he doesn't want anything in return, in fact he is well aware that he might die A PAINFUL SLOW DEATH, shortly after fighting just to get the love of your life back to you. i mean, i think eliot was kinda right when he said that he couldn't ever be fully redeemed. to me, personally, redemption is a fluid concept. i think to parker and hardison and sophie, he never had to redeem himself - to nate, maybe a little. but there are plenty of people out there who have been hurt by eliot spencer in horrific ways, ways that cannot possibly be made up by him. ever.

I got a job at a gas station across from a casino and a guy keeps coming in to buy whole cartons of cigarettes and talks in the third person calling himself "snake eyes pete" and every time I tell him his total hes like "tell ya what if old Pete rolls a snake eyes why dont you give it to him for free?" and he rolls the same set of loaded dice on the counter and it does not matter how many times he rolls snake eyes I will not give him the cartons for free he gets so mad

Today marks 6 months since Alex Pretti was shot. I joined my local community to grieve and reflect. It was good to hold our trauma as a group.

It seems everyone knows of the violence and anger in Minneapolis during the surge. The protests, the flung dildos, all the resistance and fighting. These were good and necessary.

But I don't think as many people heard about the kindness in Minneapolis. In this crisis and deadly cold, Minneapolis made sure to care for her own.

Free food was all over. Local restaurants opened their doors for anyone who needed a meal. The very same local restaurants that were struggling financially due to the ICE surge. Local organizations and churches hosted soup stands outside. Those patrolling, threatened by ICE, and the unhoused came and had hot meals.

Businesses put up signs to explicitly invite anyone in to escape the cold. To have a warm chair to rest in before going back out to watch for ICE.

On Nicollet, a memorial for Alex Pretti was put up. Cones were erected to redirect traffic around it. It's still there. A group has worked together to maintain it all this time. They remove dead flowers, water pots, protect notes from the rain, and everything they need to to honor Pretti and those coming to mourn. During the surge, nearby businesses offered flowers that you could lay at the memorial.

Neighbors organized events. Block parties, coffee meetups, food shelves, group therapy, free markets, grocery deliveries... the list goes on. The city was committed to letting each other know that no one was alone in this. Everyone was trying to hold each other in the ways we could.

I could go on about a hundred different small ways my neighbors connected and supported each other. I could go on about what my friends were doing in the suburbs. But I just want everyone to remember the kindness. You won't get the full picture of Minneapolis this winter without it. Alongside everyone screaming "FUCK ICE" was another saying "Thank you. Would you like some soup? This one is vegan."
