Hi! I wanted to message you because I've always admired your ability to make full length comics, and do it so beautifully (Irrational Numbers was sooo good omg). I was wondering how you prepared yourself for a long term drawing/editing session? I love drawing on my tablet, but doing it for any longer than an hour at a time takes such a toll on my back, and I was wondering if you had any tips since you're (obviously) a pro at it! Lol, from time management to posture and different/more ergonomic ways to prevent strain/fatigue, I'd love to hear what works best for you! Thanks :)
Hello! So I draw on a big cintiq on a standing desk--I admittedly don't put the desk up as much as a I should but standing upright is a big help to reduce strain/curve on the neck and back! I also try to stretch a lot (just basic wrist/arm stretches against a wall) and take breaks (you know, draw one line, then space off for ten minutes, draw another line and then check discord, etc etc). Seriously though I think taking a lot of small breaks to stretch and walk around is very helpful. I also generally like to work out, like lift weights or do heavy cardio, and while it's not specific to any one body part I think just being active helps the body overall, if you can manage it! Admittedly I don't have back issues specifically but I would maybe look into ways of getting a tablet stand so it's not laying flat on your lap or table, and maybe if your back is a big problem start doing back-specific exercises, health allowing? Sorry I'm not more helpful in this, despite all my little tricks I still hunch like a gremlin and will probably start paying for it in five more years lol as far as time management goes honestly staying focused these last few months especially has been a struggle (not like the world is on fire or anything) but I do generally try to shut down all my tabs and discord and Be Grindin, beyond that it's chaos. So I hope you can find something that works for you!

drawing the longer comics that i have been for the last 7 years is the only reason i've improved as an artist, but i can't help but wonder if i've backed myself in a corner by only focusing on fanart so far with no original stories😭
Any consideration to making your book available in print in the future?
Hello anon, and yes actually I have started giving it more thought if you're talking about Irrational numbers, but it does seem overwhelming tbh lol anyone who has sold physical merch is god's strongest soldier. I think I found an online printer that can make the book (and will print NSFW material) but I'm kind of at a loss for how I would go about doing something like an interest check or pre-orders and collecting money for all that (like do i need my own online store? i would use gumroad but they don't allow NSFW anymore and itchio doesn't seem to support physical sales) so anyway I need to do a ton more research and don't have a concrete answer for you. i guess i'm poking at the idea, yeah, but not super close to figuring it out yet sorry
Unfortunately right now is a bad time to try to do NSFW merch, there's such a campaign to censor, remove, and hide that kind of thing. I absolutely wish you luck, having a physical version of your stuff is AMAZING but for me I've often ended up resorting to printing on my printer at home, which is really not a viable option for many projects.
😩ugh yeah that's a good point, unfortunately i don't have a high quality printer to even kinda DIY it so I'm tiptoeing into printers that claim they still are okay with NSFW but it's probably a bit dicey 💔

Thank you for your reply! I’ve always shipped McSpirk with the reboot cast in mind, I never really saw it with the original cast, but of course that’s just a personal view. I know your art is based on the original itself, but I feel like you may have dabbled in the reboot as well? Regardless, beautiful art, I’m gonna keep buying and subscribing, and I love everything you put out.
OH AOS yeah that's a diff dynamic isn't it! I could fully see mcspirk there! Regretfully I haven't drawn a lot of the AOS iterations but when those movies came out there was an influx of great fic so I have read a fair amount of AOS trek stuff! I was skulking through all kinds--really liked the spones stuff (thank you, Beyond spones scenes) and made my way through the general spirk, mcspirk, kirk/spock prime (don't look at me) and had a kick of kirk/sulu even lmao. I liked the cast and I liked how things sort of settled down in Beyond so I wish we could have gotten more of those movies with that kind of flavor. But it's true I just mostly stick to TOS, no other star trek makes my brain go brrrr quite like it lol thanks very much for the ask and the support 😭💕💕

Hello anon! Wow, thanks! I'm so happy you checked out my stuff (and my patreon--don't be a stranger! or do if you want lol <3). And even more happy you like the writing! I do tend to stick to just Spirk, but am not against McSpirk at all! I really do think there is a trifecta thing going on and all three of them together really fit, but I guess in terms of writing and drawing a story my attention and motivations usually fall into just Kirk and Spock. They are two ends of a lever, and mccoy is more the fulcrum to me, i don't know if that makes sense. maybe i just don't trust myself to reliably write a polyamorous romance actually lol but hey thanks for the message and thank you for the support! I am trying to give Mccoy more screentime in this new comic (though yes, still Spirk oriented) so I hope you can enjoy that! tysm! <3
