I love making my friends watch Dimension 20 with me bc I am so invested in their funky little games and rewatch them a million times by myself. Also I started the show knowing that I was going to love the fuck out of Donnie. And I think in all the media we finally got a good characterization for him (meaning only: this is the Donnie my life needed). What I didn't know is that my messed up, oldest sibling trauma would be so beautifully told through raph. I've been keeping a kin list for this last year, but until rise only 2 had ever brought me to the point of tears [Steven in SU:Future & Luisa in Encanto]. But watching raph, especially the last half of season 2 and the movie? I was in tears and couldn't being to explain to my baby bro, how I felt so seen. Like for a reeeeeeeeally long time, I was hyper fixated on the 2012 run and the movie in 2009. Those raphs were special to me in their own ways but not I'm the way I felt seen by 2018 raph.

So recently my brother has gotten me hyperfixated on rise and i have some very big feelings on it. In the episode where the boys travel through splinters memories, specifically when raph sees the goodbye between baby yoshi and his grandpa. Her kimono was worn with right over left. And I remember thinking back like "hey that means something very important!" But when a living person does it, it was a way of saying "walking dead". She even tells us herself, that's she's about to give her life back to the clan. And we definitely get hit in the heart during this scene (ep as a whole), but im just extremely focused on baby yoshi. Bc in the memory we see her turn into cherry blossom petals. I'm not sure how accurate that might be bc it could just be the way a child remembers to cope with the loss of his mother, but I haven't been able to stop thinking about this.
