London Cab II Ben & Open
Benâs shirt clung to his torso as he stood outside the office block, regretting not taking a umbrella or hooded coat with him to the meeting. Kingâs Cross station wasnât a far walk, but the sudden change in the weather made the walk a rather undesireable one. He would have walked in any other circumstance. He pulled his suit jacked tighter over his shoulders, but to little effect. Looking up and down the road from his position on the pavement, he searched for a taxi or even a bus stop. One lone taxi was parked about two hundred yards away, which he walked towards quickly, his socks squelching uncomfortably as he did so.Â
Just as he neared the taxi, he noticed another person climbing in from the other side, only then coming into his view. Ben restrained himself from sighing out of fustration upon hearing that they were heading in the same direction as him, and instead opened the door, looking to the stranger hopefully. âIâm very sorry, but I heard that you were heading in the same direction as me, and was just wondering if you would mind me tagging along? Iâll pay my fair share of course.â He would normally just wait for the next one, but he was slightly soggy and just wanted to get home.Â
Sienna had spent the morning at a meeting with her agent before she had picked her daughter up from her sisters to spend the day with Marlowe at the park, only to have her plans crossed entirely by a sudden change of weather, rain better said. it was something one could foresee happening in London and still she had no umbrella or anything with her, only a raincoat for her daughter. the little girl despite the rain was not at all impressed with the idea of leaving the park and it basically took Sienna 30 minutes of getting completely drenched until the litlte one gave up and decided to walk towards the cab, like mother like daughter apparently.Â
She had just lifted her daughter into the cab and crawled into it herself, telling the cabbie her address when the door opened again and a person equally drenched as she was came into view. Normally she really wouldnt let a stragner get into a cab with her and her daugher, but for some reason she nodded, scooting Marlowe onto her lap. âNo worries, get in, Londons weather is a pain in the arse and so is getting a cab!âÂ
