tl;dr biography
tw: cancer, death, alcoholism, prison, manslaughter
born and raised in great falls, montana, to the two most loving, extraordinary parents you could’ve asked for: lando & sofia giménez. they made one tiny, happy family. they lived a modest life, her dad as a mechanic/plumber/electrician (basically any handyman job — he could do it) and her mom was a nurse at the local hospital.
she’d barely been in high school for a couple months when the diagnosis came: her mom was sick; soon, her entire life revolved around making sure her mom was okay. her mom was in and out of the hospital, doctor visits, and when her treatment started — it only got harder. her dad was working three times as hard to provide since her mom couldn’t, and she could see the toll it took on him. after a grueling year, they got the good news: it was gone, and her mom was okay. her dad was able to breathe the biggest sigh of relief, and finally take the weight of the world off his shoulders.
once she graduated, she accepted an offer for college at the university of montana — not wanting to be too far from home — and was looking to major in communications. college was wild; sierra really wanted to have ‘the college experience’ and would go to parties, hook up with any willing body, and finally unwind after the last few years.
it was one fateful fall day when there was a knock on the door of her dorm room... her mom had gotten into an accident — and she didn’t make it. it was that day that sierra found out just how cruel the world could be — her mom beat cancer, only to go like this. she returned home to be with her dad, taking time off from college to do so, but he was devastated... broken beyond relief, and because sierra reminded him too much of sofia, he wanted nothing to do with her.
it got too much, and sierra eventually left — ditching great falls for greener pastures by moving to los angeles where she fell into boxing, and found out... she’s actually pretty good at it.
she’d been gone about a year when she got the call that her dad was going to prison. he’d gotten into a bar fight, and beat a man bloody, until he was no longer breathing. her family wasn’t able to scrape enough money together for bail or to get a good enough lawyer, and he was sentenced to twenty years.
the idea of being back in great falls terrified her, so she never really returned in full capacity, moving from city to city, across north america and canada. had a brief stint over in south america, also. spent time in europe and even, asia. wondering how she funded it? it was the boxing. she’d show up to fights she was probably way too inexperienced for — but she had a lot of fight in her and eventually, she started winning. and with those wins came cash... lots of it. with the help of her coach/manager, she was fighting all over the world and winning. they were raking in the cash.
and that thing about not falling in love? after seeing how it devastated her dad, she never wanted to feel the pain of such a loss again... but life doesn’t always go to plan. she fell in love with her coach, and lucky for her, it was reciprocated. but when she realized she was getting in too deep, she ran. which is why she’s back in great falls. has been for five years now. she hasn’t seen them, and they didn’t know where she went... or maybe they did, but didn’t bother looking. she tries not to dwell on it.
it didn’t take long for her to become reacquainted with great falls, but she’s still not sure it’s home... even though it always would be. took a job as the cheer coach at great falls high school, still fights here and there for some extra cash, and trains people to box as a side hustle.
potential connections
friendship
friends who lost touch: after sierra left town, she kinda disconnected from her old life save for a few people, so these would be people she knew her through high school, maybe people who became acquainted with her during her brief stints in town before leaving again. just a scatter of people who sierra has been really bad at keeping up with. friends with benefits: casual, no strings attached type fun. she doesn’t do feelings, and if she did, it’d be feelings of frustration, because... ‘why the fuck are our clothes still on?’ drinking buddies: listen, sierra is well and truly a fan of her hard liquors — and she needs people who can keep up with her. she’s also a fan of people who get the first round, so... if you want to pay for her drinks, step on up.
romantic ...sierra? doesn’t? do? romance?
swiped her v card: listen, she was born and raised in great falls — she definitely would have lost it to some kid in town when she was in high school. maybe they were high school sweethearts, maybe they weren’t and they just decided to have sex. either way, it’s all chill now. it’s complicated: are there feelings? who the fuck knows. sierra is one of those people who actively avoids romance and getting too close to people, but sometimes, she crosses the line and she doesn’t even realize she’s done it. crossed into ‘more than friends’ territory but she doesn’t acknowledge it, maybe your muse doesn’t either — or maybe they do, and she tries to brush it off. unrequited love: okay, but the idea that somebody might have been in love with sierra but she was too caught up in her self to notice? give it to me. sierra’s not a bad person, just seriously misguided, and checks out a lot of the time, so she doesn’t have to deal with emotions. so this could cause some serious angst, because if put on the spot, she’d feel genuinely guilty... she just wouldn’t be good at expressing it.
misc
great falls high school: people who work with her at the high school, or even parents of the kids... or people who get involved in community projects/volunteers with high school events — or even people she went to high school with, old alumni she probably sees from time to time. clients: clients in the sense that sierra occasionally takes on one-on-one boxing students – teaches them the skills, spars with them, but she’s super picky about the people she takes on. so even if they’re not currently a client, they could probably be trying to recruit her to be. ‘round town: ifykyk, but on top of the usual stuff: maybe people who’ve seen sierra fight, go watch her throw down in the ring, that type of stuff.
