"I want those moments when you're about to twine your fingers with mine, and my breath cuts short and yours does too just because of the perfection of the moment. I want to lie down together and listen to the steady beating of your heart and just know, that in that time, you were mine and I was yours. I want to taste the mint of your breath and get pushed against a wall. I want to slow dance to crappy music and have moments where we forget everything but each other. I want intensity. I want love. I want you."
- it's been 7 months and i can still feel your arms around me
Woo!
I'd like to think myself a pretty confident person, but sometimes people can push and pull and drag you down without a warning. I can feel so beautiful but then a small comment can send me in a downward spiral. I love myself, I say. I am beautiful, I say. Most of the time, I believe it. But as of right now, they are blatant lies that I can laugh at. Who's up for steaming hot cup of low self esteem, everybody?
So basically...
So basically my past few months have gone something like this.
Me: Mom, I have something to tell you… Mom: Okay honey, go ahead!
Me: I think it’s okay that gay people get married. Mom: BUT THAT’S AN ABOMINATION!
Me: I also think that marriage is a partnership, and not a mindless submission of a woman under a man. Mom: WHAT?!?!
Me: Donald Trump is a misogynistic pig with the brain of a 12 year old who has no business being president. Mom: HE’S SO RADICAL AND EXTREME. HE’LL FIX WHAT OBAMA MESSED UP!
Me: Kim Davis isn’t being persecuted for her religion. She could’ve gotten her other clerks to sign the license, or simply stepped down from her position when she realized that she could no longer efficiently complete her job. I respect her for having esteemed convictions, but she broke. the. law. Mom: HOW DARE YOU! SHE’S THE ONE THAT WILL ANSWER TO GOD FOR SIGNING THAT MARRIAGE LICENSE!
Liberal me: FEMINISM! DEMOCRATS! BERNIE! GAY MARRIAGE!
Conservative me: STILL PRO-LIFE!
So yeah. Anyone else, or just me?
I used to think I was a super chill person but that was before I started training myself to notice social justice issues and now that I do I’m just a seething ball of rage.
i'm the naive one when you don't even understand the problems i try explaining and then you act like you know everything about them I AM SO DAMN ANGRY RIGHT NOW
"Before you leave the band room for the last time, stop and take a look around for just one moment. These four walls have seen you at your worst and at your best, they have watched families created and families fall apart, they have seen love between two people and one sided crushes, they have seen your most joyous days and maybe melancholy ones, they have seen the person you were when you walked in for the first time and now they have seen the person you are for the last time. And when you turn back around and walk through those halls for the very last time, know that those walls are silently weeping and maybe you are too because you both have realized that in order to go somewhere in life, you must leave home."

Republicans, Women, and Other "Minorities"
I was raised by and ultra conservative grandfather and a independent feminist grandmother. My political beliefs have always been divided.
In many, many ways I side with republicans. I believe in a small federal government. I think the government budget is too big. I think that we need to proceed cautiously when we make deals with unstable countries. That being said, I struggle when election time rolls around. How can I vote with a party who consistently says offensive things about women? Or who cares so much about the right to bear arms, but not the freedom of religion and separation of church and state?
I believe that this is how many women feel. Hillary Clinton is counting on the Republican Party to keep saying inappropriate, offensive and frustrating things about 50% of the population. The fact is that the Republican Party will not will another presidential election if they continue to not support the issues of women and minority groups.
Look at who comes out for presidential elections! It’s young people and minorities. People who care about social issues. They want a president who can support and relate to them. It is in the republicans favor that many of these people only show up every 4 years. It is what has allowed them to have a majority in the house and senate. However, if a republican is going to take the Oval Office in 2016 (or ever again), they’re going to have to be sympathetic to social issues.
