I think what’s crazy about Gortash is He’s just some guy. He’s not an aasimar. He’s not a vampire. He’s not a devil. He’s not the son of a God. He’s not pact bound. He’s not fey-touched. No special attention from a God or Goddess from birth. No magical prophecy for him. He’s got nothing. He doesn’t even have any mythical ancestry like half the fucking sword coast does. He’s just some human dude with a ton of ambition! Some random ass kid who got very unlucky which kind of made him “lucky” (insane + insanely ambitious) in a fucked up way. And Bane said damn this guy is working! He’s got big tyrant energy! So finally he got some real power by becoming Bane’s Chosen. But at the end of the day. He’s just a human little dude.
