“...I was told to liaise with a detective about a reopened cold case.. I presume that would be you. I would ask that you don’t waste my time and just tell me what you know about the case already.”
“There’s no need to do that. I was simply doing my job. And at any rate, I was rather compelled to.”
“Perhaps. Having the reaper’s bony knuckles rapping at the bars of your cell would make anyone count themselves lucky. Compelled by duty, or something else?”

“Something I can do for you, Mr. Blackquill?”
“I believe I have yet to properly show my gratitude for your involvement in the resolution of the UR-1 incident, Edgeworth-dono.”
Goes on the meme. You all know the one.
Prompt: Taka dies.
OK so I’ve been inactive but my excuse is exams. I cleared my drafts now that exams are over, so if you want to rp, like for a random starter or hit my ask to plot?
Oh and I give out my skype to mutuals so just ask and we can plot on there or just chat.
Hey Simon! How much does Phoenix wright know? Wright-dono sh** Eh? Get it?
"I've been meaning to ask you Blackquill. What's the deal with the bird...?" -Apollo
“Taka? You’ll have to more specific.”
A week had passed since his conviction before Aura had plucked up the courage to visit her imprisoned brother. Every event since the incident had felt so surreal: Metis, dead; Simon, a murderer; Athena, no longer a daughter in Aura’s eyes but the very cause of all her distress.
Her brother shouldn’t have to take the fall for a little girl capable of murdering her own mother. After all, that was what happened… Wasn’t it?
Arriving at his cell, staring down at her little brother behind bars, though there was no doubt in her mind that the little boy she’d watched grow up was no murderer - she could still hardly contain her infuriation with him for his cooperation with that girl.
“How could you?” She spat between gritted teeth, words coated in the venom of pure hatred. Metis was dead, Athena dead to Aura: and here, the last person on Earth close to Aura’s heart had begun his journey towards death, as well. Feelings beyond hatred were no longer possible for the purple-haired woman.
A week: that was longer than Simon had expected. At least it had provided the convict with more time to ascertain how he was going to deal with his sister; what he was going to reveal, if anything. Amongst the rest of the mess in his mind, he made sure to constantly remember that this conversation was going to have to take place some time. In the end, what the prosecutor’s future relationship with his sister had to be like was obvious.
"How? How could I butcher that esteemed partner of your's that you respected so much?" Sure the two argued, but still Simon was familiar enough with his sister to have a good feeling that what he just uttered was not what Aura had intended with her words. It did not matter. As long as the Phantom still was at large, the mask of The Twisted Samurai would remain firmly in place, even in front of family.
“The actual act of murder tends to start with picking up a potential weapon, or did you want me to go further back and go over the motive? I’m certain you were at the trial - you should have heard all this already.”

Using a hand propped up against the wall to support himself, the prosecutor had to stop himself from stumbling right through the door when Trucy opened it to find him.
“Mr Blackquil!! Are you alright!?” Trucy gasped, noticing the large amount of blood she helped the wounded prosecutor inside. “I’ll go get the first aid kit!! Hang on!!”
“Ngh...Lock the door first.” Blackquill’s breathing was harsh and uneven. “And...Call the police. I don’t know if I was followed here.”

“Maybe.. If we’re going to look at this case from a scientific perspective.” Saying this, the detective abandoned her ill-tempered mannerisms at random. Despite having complained only moments ago, glossed lips were forming a vague smile. Perhaps the ex-convict had spoken too soon?
“Prosecutor Blackquill, have you ever dusted for prints?”
“As far as I was made aware, you were only a detective.”
A small grin appeared on the prosecutor’s face, not minding Ema’s approach at all. “Only good can come out of honing another technique. I’ve always left prints to the forensic team. From your words, it sounds like you’re going to save a great deal of time and tell me you know how to dust for them?”
“So I was right– you were an attorney. And a prosecutor, no less. What could you have done to end up in this place, I wonder?”
“Whatever it was, you are still a criminal. And I refuse to be brought down to the level of the likes of you. Regardless of where I am, I remain a von Karma.”
“Brought down to my level?” Blackquill couldn’t help but give out a hearty laugh.
“Live in your delusion all you like; it will not change the reality that those not caught up in the dream of your perfect record regard you as the same kind of garbage as I. The world will always take a particularly harsh view of monsters such as we who would leave a child parent-less.”
"Cykes-dono?" The prosecutor had welcomed himself into the Wright Anything Agency, on the off chance Athena was present. He only thought it right to visit her, given it was Mother's Day.
“Oh, hi, Simon.” Athena smiled when she saw it was he who entered. “You can call me Athena, you know. It’s not like we’re in court or anything. Anyway, what brings you here?”
“If you desire it, so it shall be. I actually came to seek you out, Athena.” His tone had been natural, though it soon took a more solemn tone.
“’Tis only right that I come and pay my respects on this day. Your mother’s life was taken far too early.”

“How ironic.” The woman vocalized, offering the philosophical words no more than a bored expression. In fact, her lips were pursed in irritation of the seemingly unnecessary trope. “You’re a real try-hard of a poet. Think we could start investigating, then?”
“You certainly seem far less enthusiastic than my previous partner; a blessing for sure.” If the detective’s lack of interest had bothered Blackquill, he didn’t show it. “I would hope you’d fare better than Fool Bright - or his imposter, at least.”
“I do not take ‘vacations’. As for my reason for being here– well, surely you are aware of who I am… or have you been living in a hole in the ground for the past fifteen years? The news of my imprisonment was broadcasted worldwide.”
“What attorney hasn’t heard the name Manfred von Karma? Even disgraced, students still aspire to match your record...I doubt the dark age of the law has done any good in removing you as an example.
Though you may still be regarded as a god among those of our former profession, in here you’re just the same as the rest of us convicts.”
