          Weiss was, without a doubt, one of the most elegant and skilled fighters he had ever had the good fortune to witness...however she lacked one thing: raw power. If she was thrown off balance, if her focus was shaken, she would lose the leverage that he fighting style had. Her speed and flexibility certainly were excellent pros in her favor, but she needed to gain a bit more sturdiness as well.

          “You seem to be recovered quite well, Weiss. You’re as graceful as ever, but I think that it would behoove you to consider leaning some hand to hand defense as well in case your weapon is ever out of reach.”

The vytal Festival. A time to dance, drink, and gather in celebration of their long fought for peace. However for the youths training to become great, the festival offered one other perk. A moment to test their strength and brink pride to their individual school. For one particular huntswomen, it was a chance to fight against a wide arrange of oppenents. Something she never got to do since tragedy befell haven. Outside of the area, no one knew the debths of loss Haven was suffering, not with Leo at the head of communications.

Either to cover his shame, or some other motive, he kept quiet about the declining number of students. But even with these efforts, talk was begining to spread due to his choice of students to participant in this years combat tournament. Three juniors, and a lone freshmen. just enough to count as a full team.

Not that this bothered the youngest of the quentent. While the three of her teammates were off doing God knew what, the youngest could be found roaming the festival grounds. Her Home sickness causing her to linger into the metal work sections. Though, the crafmenship of the bow currently in her grasp had a deep scowl covering her features.

          Ren had been wandering the fairgrounds with his Team for the better part of the afternoon but the others had long since retired to the dorms for showers and unwinding while Ren remained curious of all the things there were to see. He was a fan of culture, having never been outside of Anima until he and Nora joined Beacon Academy...it was fascinating to see all the things the world had to offer. Exotic foods, foreign weaponry, dance exhibitions from various regions, music filling the air as the sun started to lower. What a glorious idea this festival was.

          He was passing by the metal works section of the tents when he heard a disgruntled voice commenting on the wares and he turned to see what it was they might be displeased with. A girl with stunningly blue hair was looking at a bow in her hands with an expression of judgement and he assumed this was who he had heard. The bow looked decent to him, but he was no archer so perhaps he didn’t truly have the know how to decide that.

          “What about it makes it undesirable to you?” he inquired, curiously. He didn’t know the girl at all, but her blatant comment had caught his attention and now he wished to hear what it was she had to say.

                                    She’s Still Here With Us

Seriously though, Jaune’s encounter and then JNR discussing Pyrrha was SUPER therapeutic for me. So many important things got resolved.

- Jaune realizes that Pyrrha died doing exactly what she wanted to do: serve and protect as a huntress. He explains to Ren and Nora that she probably knew she would lose. Team JNR can rest assured that her death meant something and she chose it wholeheartedly.

- Nora and Ren tell Jaune that he is loved. They don’t want to lose him like Pyrrha. Hopefully now he no longer believes that he’s more expendable than everyone else. They reaffirm that they are all a close-knit family.

- Team JNR realizes that fighting to protect others, even when the odds are impossible, is exactly what Pyrrha would have done. It’s what they trained for. It’s what they all aspired to do. Led by their love for their friend, JNR regains the clarity and drive needed to keep moving forward.

I’m so proud of these kids.

          Ren can’t help but smile at the little flower-like creature in his hands and he is captivated by it. How can something so small and adorable be good in a fight? Yet it’s skill chart proved it could hold it’s own, it also perfectly counterbalanced the weaknesses of his Omanyte!

          Ren studies the frog-like creature closely, considering the option of including this one in his team...but he always considered the idea of having a team primarily consisting of one type of Pokemon to be silly. It needed to be more mixed to have a better chance of success and he already possessed Pokemon of Water and Dark Types.

          “No, sorry, this one doesn’t quite fit with my idea of a successful team. I’m sure it’s an excellent Pokemon, but just not for me.”
