PLEASE HELP, URGENT MEDICAL CARE NEEDED AFTER LANDLORD POISONS TENANT
($15/100) ($15/600)

Hello. This is a really disturbing update. The basics of the situation are that while I was gone for a week dealing with my landlord, who was threatening and harassing me and trying to force entry, Yazid was facing a much much worse landlord situation. He was admitted to the hospital for acute and severe illness on 2/12/22.
It seems (this is alleged and has not been proven legally but there's a LOT of evidence for this) that the landowners INTENTIONALLY POISONED HIM. This kindly, sweet orphanage caretaker who's kids need him so badly. Right as he's getting to finish school, a dream of his. All over $40 of the rent being late, too. I can't even fathom doing that.
The hospital is now denying Yazid treatment unless he pays for it. In total, he needs $)600, but he believes ANY amount can help, he thinks if we get about $100 they'll come around and be willing to wait, because that's how things usually work with hospitals in his area of Uganda.
Yazid already has had many health problems, which you can read about in other posts and updates, like liver failure, malaria and typhoid repeatedly, broke his leg and kept working on it, and straight up almost died from exhaustion once because of how hard he works. This has all been in just the past year and a half-ish. His body can't take anymore of this abuse. He's exhausted, in pain, sick, and terrified.
Please, if you have ANYTHING ANYTHING AT ALL to spare, you can make this situation go from impossible to something the orphanage and the volunteer staff can actually push and get through.
So please, help us get Yazid his treatment, if you can. Share this page. Share our update. Spread it to loved ones, followers on the Internet, to coworkers, helpful groups you know of, even total strangers you can find online while browsing, seriously, anyone!!!
I know talking to strangers online is hard, so I'll be posting a premade message in the Carrd you can copy and paste. There's also pages of proof linked there, but feel free to ask me or Yazid (contact info on carrd) any questions. We can give you every type of proof you ask for.
Hopeful,
-Maddie
URGENT: The orphanage I volunteer for needs help with rent ASAP or they will lose their home.

God Provides is an orphanage/resource center for the needy that I've been volunteering with for almost three years now. Right now, they're in trouble.
Their rent is due on the first, and we've been unable to raise almost any money for it.
Their landlord has been extra aggressive lately, repeatedly shouting abuse at Yazid, the caretaker, in front of the children and really scaring them, so there's no wiggle room this time. Yazid also recently badly injured his knee, making it hard to work. As he is the main caretaker, this is a big impediment.
Their rent is $200, and to treat Yazid's injured knee would cost $150. So far, one of our volunteers was able to pitch in $25, but that's it.
I wish I could help more myself financially, as I usually try and chip in, but I am unfortunately facing my own eviction right now. Health and family emergencies have left me little time to search for and find donors. :(
With them working on their farm project, and other ways to become self sustaining, it would be a huge shame to see this progress cut short. God Provides is a special place that not only houses children, but raises them well, educating them and, Yazid hopes, filling them with faith in their futures. They also find ways to support the rest of the community in Buguri whenever they can. The organization stands for something special, and I never want the community to lose them.
Any amount is a huge, huge help. Whether that's one dollar, or a hundred, or anything in between, it will change the future of the orphanage and the community surrounding it! Also, it'll really make me smile.
Proof of this situation can be found in this carrd (please excuse the mess while we work on our finished website), throughout this blog, and on @mutualaidminutes . You can contact Yazid on discord at wesonga01#0356 or on Instagram at wesonga_01 and ask for any proof you need! You can also message me with questions or any proof you'd like to see. I'll be posting receipts for each donation going into Yazid's account, so you can have peace of mind! Ask for any proof you need to feel comfortable and we'll provide it.
Thank you everyone, and happy new year!!
UGANDAN ORPHANAGE WORKER DYING OF TYPHOID AND MALARIA:
Please help!!!
Update: 50/100 $ reached. Just need 50$ more!!!
This man works for an orphanage called God Provides in Uganda. He is the hardest working man I've ever known. He is extremely ill with both typhoid and malaria and has been for about three days now.
They don't have any money and he was only able to get one treatment that my family paid for but unfortunately we don't have any money left that we can donate. He recently was able to graduate from college despite all the hardships he faces. He will be up for days while starving to walk to the villages and beg for help because they have nothing to eat most times and can hardly ever make rent.
This man has a future and the children need him, please do not let this be the end of him!
Even sharing this would be a big help and a huge difference. Please find it in your heart to take a moment to share this, tell friends about it or consider donating.
Thank you and bless you

Hi, I'm Madison Mcclain, on behalf of God Provides Orphanage. I've been fundraising for the orphanage for a little over a year now, and gotten to know so many amazing people! Every day helping them warms my heart, and gives me purpose. But right now, I'm terrified.
Right now, Yazid Wesonga, the orphanage's caretaker, the most wonderful person I've ever met, a man I consider family, is on the brink of death.
In Uganda, hospitals won't take you without a certain amount of money. They keep you after that, but if they don't continue to receive payment, they stop treating you.
So, they have stopped treating Yazid. However, he is progressively getting worse, and is at the point he could die if he doesn't get more medical attention. I've already sent him all the money I have, and sold my things.
This same illness almost took my mother. It's no joke. It's a very serious illness, and even Yazid, who never loses faith, is fearing for his life. He's not sure he's going to make it and that's terrifying.
The orphanage needs Yazid. The WORLD needs Yazid. I need Yazid!
This is a man that provides hope to so many, who's saved hundreds of lives. A man who listens to Barbie music with me, laughs in his little Pooh bear hoodie when he's sleepy, loves to buy his kids treats, has dreams and goals, has a beautiful soul, and would do ANYTHING for ANYONE. He deserves to live!!! He fights so hard for others, the least we can do is to fight for him too!!!
Yazid deserves to live! So please, please share this post. I'm begging you for your help. Reblog it, share it to your Instagram TikTok and Twitter, send it to relatives, send it to your discord servers. Post it to Reddit! Send it to people you think will care. Tell people you know in real life. Send the message in the replies to blogs you think will care. Just please, help us save Yazid!
He owes $627, however he thinks just half of that might be alright. EVERY dollar counts!!!

ways to support the blm movement
this google doc includes a list of petitions to sign, resources to help educate yourself and others, organizations to donate to, and contacts of law officials to get in touch with to express your support for the george floyd and black lives matter movements. this includes ways to help even if you don’t live in america. please read it and support the movement.
use your voice. use every platform you have, no matter how big or how small. nothing will change if you just sit there and watch. if you think you’re the exception, you’re not. remaining indifferent will only support the oppressor. do something.
write to your legal representatives. express your support for legislation that would bring justice to the unarmed civilians who’ve been murdered by law enforcement officers. demand for justice.
call 612-324-4499 ㅡ this is a hotline that will coach you on how to get connected with the people who can arrest the officers that murdered george floyd.
create serious conversation. stop demeaning people who disagree with your philosophies on how to overcome. it is useless and no better than the practices of the oppressor to silence. we need to listen to each other with respect and really consider how we can combine our perspectives to create practical change.
please feel free to add any links or resources or information that you think will be helpful and also reblog to spread awareness. the systems we are fighting against were literally created to oppress marginalized communities and therefore will not go down without a fight. we need to collectively stand up and do something about it.
if you know you’re going to be exposed to tear gas make sure to:
wear a scarf or bandana to cover your nose and mouth (assuming you don’t have access to a gas mask, dust mask or other kinds of filtered masks). cover up identifying marks like tattoos.
tie up your hair and cover it as best as you can (tear gas can and will get into your hair and become tricky to wash out, you risk repeated exposure if you touch your hair and then your face etc).
wear goggles (swimming goggles or ski goggles work pretty well, sunglasses are not as good but they are better than nothing).
COVER YOUR SKIN (tear gas irritates the fuck out of your skin so cover up as best as you can. wear gloves. especially in warmer months sweat or other kinds of moisture on open skin eyes and lungs will react to tear gas and it will burn).
carry cold water with you to wash your face upon exposure, make sure it’s sealed so it’s not contaminated. hot water will open your pores and likely exacerbate the situation, so try to only use cold water.
prepare a separate spray bottle and fill it with a mixture of baking soda and water, this will help neutralize some of the effects of the gas. 3 tsp to every 250 ml seems to be a good rule of thumb. you will spray this onto your face and skin as needed. edit: this mixture is similar to what we used while we were protesting, but i have read conflicting reports regarding its medical efficacy. there’s apparently a risk of scratching your corneas if the baking soda has not dissolved sufficiently. if in doubt just use loads of fresh cold water.
do not wear makeup, sunscreen, creams, or contact lenses.
upon exposure:
try not to panic. running blindly will overexert your lungs and make things worse, and might make you hyperventilate faster. you also risk creating chaos and running headfirst into something more dangerous. move quickly but safely to get away from the cloud. get to higher ground if you can. if you’re in a building that has been gassed, immediately exit the building.
if you do inhale it, DON’T PANIC. it feels horrible and kind of like you might die but for most people it’s not lethal. (if you have asthma or other respiratory conditions or you’re elderly it’s far more dangerous for you to be exposed. infants are at greater risk also.) don’t rub your eyes or your face. you might vomit. your eyes and nose will stream like crazy. cough and spit as much as you can to get rid of the mucus build up. you might feel dizzy and disoriented. you might feel blinded. that’s normal. use the spray bottle on your eyes and face as quickly as possible and escape the area. the immediate effects will likely wear off in an hour or two but you might feel the burning/irritation for a day or two afterwards.
take care of yourself first and help others after. remember that touching exposed individuals with bare hands will contaminate your skin also.
if a gas canister lands next to you DO NOT TOUCH IT UNLESS YOU’RE WEARING HEAVY DUTY GLOVES. you will get second degree burns. the traffic cone method that HK protesters have been using seems to be the safest option to neutralize the canisters, but unless you’re sufficiently prepared to do this your only priority should be to get away from them.
when you get home:
take off your shoes outside so you don’t track particles into your house. wear gloves while handling contaminated items.
take off all of your clothes. everything, down to your underclothes will likely be soaked in gas. if you’re able to, hang them outside to air them out on a balcony or in a yard for a few days.
wash your face with cold water as many times as you can. do not stand over a sink and do this; kneeling down and tilting your head back to pour water over your face and into the inner corners your eyes is more effective. flush your eyes out one by one, try not to cross-contaminate particles from one eye into the other.
wash your glasses and goggles with soap and water.
take a cold shower with soap. do not take a bath. you will probably have to take multiple showers until the burning on your face and skin subsides.
wash your contaminated clothes separately – you will have to put them through multiple wash cycles or failing that, discard them. wear gloves while doing this.
gas particles can stay active for 4-5 days so do not wear the same clothes if you are heading back out.
what to do if your home is exposed to tear gas.
edited this post! a useful resource is linked here.
I’ve heard that milk also helps. Y'all should look into that too.
milk might feel like it provides temporary relief but you never know with allergies etc. about helping other people with it. if it’s not cold you also risk dumping a bunch of bacteria into your eyes! store bought saline solution is good in a pinch though.
