Thinking about kissing…but, like…alien equivalents.

To humans, the act of pressing their mouth parts covered with extremely sensitive skin together is one of THE ways to demonstrate romantic interest in another. It’s also a little disgusting because of the saliva sharing and the mashing together of wet internal appendages that can sense each other through taste. But that’s all a matter of perspective.

Perhaps, to aliens, hugging is the Romantic Act. To press one’s body against another and share warmth. To have your heart/s so close that they can feel the other’s heartbeat. Now, that’s romance.

Maybe it’s not a physical display of affection and instead a demonstration of care. Maybe getting or even making the object of your desires a present that you know they would enjoy is how some aliens say ‘I am in love with you’. A present like that says ‘I know you and all of the small details that make you important to me and here’s the proof’.

And perhaps all of these cultural differences make it so humans come across as VERY forward yet DEEPLY romantic creatures (if a little overeager sometimes)

I can't stop thinking about the concept of playfighting with Yautja.

We already know that in general Yautja culture can be pretty brutal. Always looking for the most dangerous and formidable preys, meaning each hunt can be their last, and even their mating rituals involve fighting for dominance. So for an alien species who are obsessed with the hunt, of course their most common way to show affection or bond is through playfighting. It's not just an activity for little pups, Young Bloods often engage in it as a way to distress and train. Even mated pairs like to do it as a way to bond.

Although, from a human pov, it always looks like they're actually trying to kill each other. Because Yautja playfighting is no fun if it doesn't involve body slamming, throwing each other at the wall like ragdolls, headlocks and even some biting. It's like wrestling, but actually dangerous if you're a squishy human. But do fret, because as long as there's no blood or broken bones, it's all fair game.

So imagine a Yautja trying to playfight with their human, but have to exercise a LOT of restrain so they don't actually hurt them. Bonus points if said human is aware that they're 'going easy' on them, so like a cheeky gremlin, they tease them about about it. Although, they do find that there's some fun human alternatives, like snow ball fight or see who does the biggest splash when going swimming. Just a cute though.

Since humans are so darn soft (seriously, you can’t even punch them too hard or their skin breaks, it’s ridiculous) I think a Yautja would resort to a more ‘subtle’ approach instead of play-fighting: Rage Baiting

Poking at their human’s soft spots to make them jump, purposefully de-cloaking too suddenly to scare them, setting harmless traps to catch them in, playing keep-away with the height difference, pushing them around and picking them up and pinching them and generally just being a shithead meanie in the hopes that the human will lose their temper and take a swing at them.

That way the Yautja has an excuse to retaliate and put their hands on their human.

It’s all very entertaining.

I feel like Yautjas would be somewhat curious about human hair. like, how its maintained, styled, and definitely on haircuts. im sure they have their own haircare for their trendrils?dreads? but they don't have the same amount of strands as humans do (closest one was feral). so I wonder if they'd see human hair as tedious.

your yautja watching you style your hair in the morning or watching it get styled and wondering if your in pain.

you'll catch him watching hair tutorials and lowkey cringing bc if it was them getting their "hair" done then OUCH! (I like to think their dreads are sensitive)

your yautja finding out you LOVE scalp scratches and making it routine before bedtime. he loves to see you drift off with his hands/claws on your head (plus he feels a bit scandalous)

In a slightly less romantic setting

A human running away from a Yautja that has decided they want to make their skull their newest paperweight and the Yautja manages to grab them by the hair and start dragging them away.

Obviously it would hurt the human, so the Yautja pays no real heed to the yells of pain. But the human is in full adrenaline mode and they think fast and grab the small knife at the Yautja’s hit and just up and slice off the hair gripped in their fist and squirm away.

Which takes the Yautja COMPLETELY off guard. They don’t know hair has no feeling in it, so they’re just left standing there with a clump of hair in their hand, a little awestruck by the realisation that they might have underestimated how formidable humans are….

Cybertronian Biology (?) Headcanon: Bots don’t have a ‘young voice’ the same way humans do.

Cybertronians don’t have a high voice that gets deeper as they mature, they instead talk primarily in binary babble until their adolescent years as that’s when their vocalisers finally finish developing. As a result, binary beeping is seen as ‘baby talk’ of a sort among bots because it’s comparatively much easier to speak due to its simplicity. It’s like saying “move box” instead of ‘vehicle’, very literal and rather silly sometimes.

A bot earning their voice is a big milestone in their culture, in a similar vein to a first transformation or the choosing of one’s own name, and is often celebrated at karaoke bars where the younguns can test out their new pipes.

It is, however, a little jarring when a sparkling you've only heard talk in squeaky binary babble suddenly busts out full syllables in a grown ass voice.

It sucks being a shipper bcuz I DO care and think about the characters outside of their relationships and other characters in the story and messages and meaning of things, but the evil fairy keeps whispering poisons into my ear and the little brain worms feast off of them and then I can't stop thinking about the characters doing romantic shit!!!
