HE WILL BITE YOUR ANKLES
HMPHs ( but in cat.)
-And they were roommates
@silvcrsoul is requesting a capture!
Silver had been listening to Crys’s relation of her day out in the field. He remained silent through their way back to the house- that was, until something caught his attention. He caught Crys’s attention - ‘hold on’ - and stops on his steps. One hand rose to her face. The tips of his fingers grazed lightly at the skin of her cheek, much in the way a caress would, but they didn’t stop there. Not until they tucked a loose lock of hair behind her ear and drew back, holding a- “You had a leaf stuck.”
Seeing the pair now as they walked down the dimly lit streets of Newbark Town, one might never have expected that the two housemates had once been bitter rivals. What was once (and admittedly at times still was) an echo of sharp voices and increasing arguments over everything and nothing, in its place was the lively voice of a girl recounting the events of the day that, at least to them, would be considered menial. And to Crys, light banter along a starlit street with nothing more than groceries in hand, was a nice change of pace. They weren’t always home at the same time, but it had become more common, and she enjoyed these moments when they kept each other up to date and found something to talk about other than their latest disagreement. But sleep was sounding more and more appealing now that a day off was in reach, and as they arrived on the doorstep of the house they’d both called home, it would have been straight to bed had Silver not stopped her mid-sentence.
“What? You didn’t forget something at the store did you, because I am not running all the way back for-” Truthfully she hadn’t thought twice about the interruption, but as she turned to meet his gaze, the witty retort she’d intended to make about it died on her tongue. Something felt….different.
Suddenly, Crys became very aware of their proximity.
In fact, she was aware of quite literally everything. The tension in their silence as they stood outside her door, the sudden tightness in her chest, the intensity of those bright eyes, sharp and focused and touched by moonlight, juxtapose against the cooling darkness around them, and the fact that the existence of every other soul in New Bark Town seemed to have vanished from her waking consciousness.
“Silver, h-hey…hold on a second…!”
Even as she took an unconscious step back, her words trailed off at the brush of surprisingly warm hands slipping through the hair she’d happened to keep loose that night. Her throat went dry, her heart pounding in her chest as she tried and failed to probe her mind for an answer. A solution. A something to give her some kind of answer to a question she couldn’t even form. She had no idea what was happening, and for once Crys was the one that felt small, locked in a gaze that seemed so unusually focused on her. What….was he….?
And then he pulled away.
“You had a leaf stuck.”
….
………
“Ah-”
The world suddenly fell dead silent. Disbelief jolts her like a shock of cold water, and all she could do blankly at the little twig as the world fell to static. And here he stood staring at her as though this end result had been obvious, natural even!
“A-…..Ahahahaha!” The laugh that broke the silence between them was unbidden and awkward as her mind frantically struggled to compose itself and regain some of her dignity, but that had nothing on the turns her stomach was doing. It was needless to say that Crys felt incredibly flustered even if she’d vehemently deny it every step of the way, her cheeks burning with mortification at the swirl of emotions she’d just been struck with in that short span of time and Crystal Lynne, oh so smart Crystal who had an answer for everything, had no words for….whatever had just transpired.
Sweet Arceus.
What the hell was that.
“Oh! Thanks! Sure is windy tonight, huh!!” Another awkward laugh followed, and she’d strangle herself right then and there if she could. There was no time to dwell on the whats and the whys when he was still standing there, staring at her while she struggled to swallow the tight knot of embarrassment threatening to choke her on her own doorstep. So it was with stiff but precise movements that she quickly turned away from him, trembling hands fumbling with her keys to get the door open as quickly as possible before he noticed the way her face burned a whole other hue of red. “Hey, want to do me a favor and take these to the kitchen, I’llberightbackIhavetocheckonsomething, IjustrememberedIhaveathingtocheck-”
There was no pause for an answer. The grocery bags were dropped haphazardly on the wooden floorboards, not even having hit the ground before the Catcher was charging up the stairs, leaving a confused and mildly annoyed Silver in her wake as the echo of a door slammed shut from upstairs. She’d recognized with a chill that she recognized this. She had felt it before. Crys couldn’t begin to pinpoint when the state of things between herself and her best friend had shifted at some point, but she did realize one thing:
She was in big trouble, and sleep was the last thing to come that night.
@silvcrsoul: He sizes the man up and down with a judgemental glance. What is this fashion sense… Is that a HEART cleavage window?
Julius is sizing Silver up too, out of the corner of his eye. Who does this kid think he is, judging him?
He crosses his arms over his chest– not because he was self-conscious or anything… in fact, the movement just made his cleavage more pronounced. This was a power pose.
But he wasn’t gonna tell the kid off if he wasn’t spoken to. He was just hoping that his… intimidating (and odd) aura would ward him away.
Anyway, Silver has a Ho-Oh now. I’m sorry, I don’t make the rules. I ENDORSE THEM.
>;)
sb: Silver, what you got there? Silver: a smoothie.

“I’d like my tsundere FLAT, SALTY, and SPICY, please.”
ACK:
”Ohhh Silver, Silverrrrr c’mon man! Constant moving means a guy is just in good shape! As for the loudness?” He doesn’t miss a beat in swinging a good natured arm around his shoulders.
“Gimme a sec on that and I’ll find some reasons too. Ain’t it good to hook back up with your pals again?”
"YOU’RE JUST BEING OBNOXIOUS.” Silver scoffs, breaking away from Gold’s grasp; not as aggressively as he would’ve had. A silent sign of familiatiy, perhaps?! “Any other reasonable trainer would focus that energy on sharpening their skills-- But no, you’re just gloatting around town over nothing--!”
no:
“I knew you could be reasoned with. And you need the excuse to socialize.”
“I talk to you, your mother, and Professor Elm ( sometimes ). And with the battle challenges, I’d say that’s socializing enough.”
