[smiles down at his sister] What I would like to do is not be here. But there usually is. I don’t really care what we do.

Well besides leaving, why don't we go to the lake? I think there's a naiad canoe race or something.

Of course we will. [steps forward to give her a kiss on the forehead] So why don’t we go do something with that time? I haven’t been to camp in a while. Surely there’s something going on though. There always is. [rolls eyes]

  [slips her arms around Nico's waist, hugging him warmly] What would you like to do? There might be something going on.

Don’t worry about that now. If something happens, we’ll deal with it when the time comes. I don’t think Dad will let anything go on, though. He knows you’re here. If he had a problem with it, he would’ve sent someone to fetch you already.

[silver-and-old]

[laughs softly] I don't think dad wants me dead anymore than you do. I think we'll have some time together.

Right. [makes a face, and then shakes his head] Don’t worry about it, sister. I won’t let anyone take you back without a fight. And they won’t even know what hit ‘em.

[silver-and-old]

You and me both, brother. I'm just getting used to the world of products named after apples and places called McDonalds. I'm not ready to leave it. [smiles sadly]

So? I don’t even remember how we got on the topic… but it doesn’t matter much. What, are you afraid I won’t be around for Christmas or something?

[silver-and-old]

[shakes her head] I guess sometimes I'm afraid I won't be around. How long is it before Thanatos or someone else has to drag me back?

[walks ahead] Just so you know, I’ve never been to the kitchen before. Let’s hope and pray we don’t accidentally wonder into somewhere we shouldn’t be.

I've never been there either, obviously. I'm Hazel! Aren't you Percy's sister?

You’ve been told correctly. [smiles at him] I can’t believe we’re discussing Christmas.

Oh, good. [chuckles a bit] Why is that so surprising? I like Christmas.

Not that, but it's kinda May. We have a long ways. [smiles at him]

Yup! My dad's Pluto, which in Greek speak means Hades. But in Roman form he was more of a wealth nut. Gems and such. 

It's not too obvious. I just haven't seen you around, so I was curious.

Dang it. It’s ok, [jokingly] I’ll just live with this burning sensation engulfing my mouth. [smiles] Want to  come with me to the kitchen or wherever they keep those magic cups?

It’s convenient. At my camp, they keep the weather as it is. They say it prepares you for real situations. I’unno. I’m Hazel though! And you are?

No, they’re for Arion should he come around. Though I could find some silver or jade and have the Vulcan kids make a star of it for the top.

Oh, okay. Well like I said that’s fine. It would need a star on top of it anyway. No tree is complete without one, or so I’ve been told.

Wait… I have gold stocked under my bed. Does that have to go as well?

… Were you planning on putting solid bricks of gold on the Christmas tree or something? I don’t care if you have gold or jewels in the cabin, if that’s what you’re asking.

No, they're for Arion should he come around. Though I could find some silver or jade and have the Vulcan kids make a star of it for the top.

I don’t have anything against it. I just think the silver looks nicer on a tree. And it’d fit in the cabin better - gold would stand out too much.

[shrugs] Sure, if you want. None of that red and gold tinsel stuff, though. Just the silver kind.

Yeah! It was snowing the first time I came here. Not much, but enough to make it seem wintry.
