Hey I’ve got a twitter!
https://twitter.com/EmilisBorealis
So it would appear I went and created a whole new sims stable a couple days ago. Whoops.
Well, I shall introduce you to this latest brainchild of mine; Erubescent Horizon Acres (god I’m so pretentious with names :D), breeding farm of American Curly Horses. My goal is to breed adorable curlies on all colors, sizes, shapes and types. I’m gonna have some gaited, some sporty types, some ponies, some drafts, som arab-y ones and of course also some regular bashkir/stock type horses.
Erubescent Horizon Acres is located in New Nevada. They practice natural horsemanship and horse keeping and although there is a barn, most horses are kept in loose housing and are barefoot.
Note that EHA breeds American Curly Horses which are not necessarily the same as the American Bashkir Curly. The ABC registry is more of a true breed registry which are more concerned with keeping the original ABC horse, the stocky kind. The ACH on the other hand basically just registers all horses with the curly gene that originates with the ABC. So all ABC horses are also ACH horses, but not all ACH horses are ABC horses.
That said, the above horse is an ABC stallion by the name of Erubescent Tectonic. He’s a gaited grullo tobiano.
I have some pretty big news today; I've created an entirely new sims stable, and you know what? I think I feel like making a comeback to Equus-Sims with this stable C:
Sorry about cutting these two pictures from the previous post and uploading them again. The previous post had too many tags which messed up tags on the website. Tumblr's tag limits are stupid.
Picture 1: Zero Gravity (left), the thoroughbred stallion, and Arkadiy (right), the orlov trotter stallion, play-fighting with each other. These two really enjoy each other's company!
Picture 2: The morgan stallion, Aldmeri Dominion, trotting along the fence in his paddock.
And an overview of the updated Pegasus Stable!
And now some pictures from the Pegasus Stable~
Picture 1: The mares resting underneath the tree in their paddock. From left to right; Matryoshka (orlov trotter), Odette (oldenburg) and Blood Pact (morgan).
Picture 2: Jerimiah, Victoria and the mascot dog, Hunter, greeting the oldenburg stallion Adalric over the fence.
Edit: Dividing this post because there were too many tags (and then the post wouldn't show up on the website's tag links correctly :/ )
And some pictures showing off the whole Unicorn Stable and its new paddocks!
Some pictures from the paddocks of the updated Unicorn Stable!
Picture 1: The mares, Morning Star (akhal-teke) and Sarangerel (mongolian), found the wishing well quite entertaining...
Picture 2: Tabitha and Christina running with the akhal-teke stallion MSE Audience of One and the mascot dog, Xena.
Picture 3: Naranbataar, the mongolian stallion, investigating his paddock.
EQC horse profiles are now all up!
Took a while, but I finally got the last profiles up so now that's done!
Check it out Here
Now I'm still not entirely done as far as horse profiles go, I've just put up profiles for all horses that are "formally" introduced.
There's a couple extra horses that needs to have pictures taken and their profiles made. I'll be doing this more gradually and putting up their pictures and profiles as I do them.
I'll also continue to take pictures of the updated stables and perhaps also update the facilities page eventually. These photoshoots takes up an entire day what with all the posing, so they're coming along a little slowly.
Quick Tutorial: Round stables
As requested, here's is a teeny tiny little tutorial thing on how I built the round stable above, aka the Hippogriff Stable. Or mostly just me showing how I did the layout of the stable, as that is the tricky part of building round stables. This particular stable has exactly 20 stalls, but it’s absolutely possible to build stables with less and more stalls - though I wouldn’t recommend building your round stable too large as it’s an anything but space-saving layout (and it quickly gets improbably big when you start adding too many stalls).
Tip: When planning a new stable, I first always put down fences that represent walls and stalls. This way I can experiment and try with different layout options etc and come up with a good layout before I start the real building - after which layout changes are much harder.
Below is the floor plan of the Hippogriff Stable. You could make the stalls on the diagonal sides a little wider if you don’t want a gap between them. You could probably also make some extra stalls in the empty spaces between the inner stalls. I used the space that was left over in the middle to make a tack and feed room. As you can also see, there’s a few triangles of empty spaced that I walled off. I found It’s pretty much impossible to create a decent round stable without doing like this unless you don’t mind some oddly shaped stalls.
I recommend careful planning by placing down fences before building and simply experimenting until you find a workable layout. I’m not gonna lie, the stable below was one of the most frustrating stables I’ve build much thanks to its round layout :p
And a full look at the updated Kelpie stable!
The pony mares had a blast in the bigger paddocks/pastures furthest away from the stable.
First picture: Whisper (grey connemara), Saga (dun icelandic), Sun Glimmer (haflinger) and Merry-Go-Round (chestnut welsh mountain).
Second picture: Panda (black tobiano shetland), Bon Bon (bay roan shetland), Pinkie Pie (red dun blanket falabella) and Little Red Riding Hood (chestnut falabella)
The pony stallions enjoying their free time!
First picture: Wallace, welsh mountain stallion, and Hrímfaxi, icelandic stallion.
Second picture: Rudolph, haflinger stallion.
Third picture: Milkshake, falabella stallion, and Snowman, shetland stallion.
Elva and Hyeon taking Kingston (connemara stallion) in from the paddock.
And some overview shots of the Centaur stable!
A few pictures from around the Centaur stable!
First picture: Ellen and Aubrey with the collie Sabrina and appaloosa stallion Wishful Thinking.
Second picture: Quarter stallion Platinum standing in his paddock.
Third picture: The two broodmares, Swift Hooves (appaloosa) and Champagne Explosion (quarter), running through the big pasture.
Edit: Oh, and if someone notices Wishful Thinking's blanket pattern is different it's because when I went into the game he was for whatever reason missing it so I had to recreate it :|
Silver Dragon Valley fixed version!
It took a little time but I finally have a version of the world that requires Pets instead of ITF for the fences to show up.
Main download page HERE.
Or direct download HERE.
FYI regarding the Silver Dragon Valley and the fence not showing...
It turned out the fence is required by ITF, or at least one version of it. I happen to know there IS another identical version of the fence in the Pets expansion, you just need a mod to unlock it in CAW (not required for it to show in-game).
I'm gonna work on replacing the fence with the Pets version so it works without ITF. It might take a little while but I promise to get it done within a couple days at least C:
