V love confession headcanons
(because this hasnât been done enough obviously, also I hope this isnât too ooc, reviews are appreciated)
V doesnât fall in love immediately but something in you catches his interest and makes him want to talk to you more
Even if he denies it, he is attention-starved as all hell so if you give him attention he will at the very least be more comfortable around you and seek you out
When he first starts falling for you, he figures out pretty quickly whatâs going on but will try to shake those thoughts out of his head and convince himself that relationships are not something he can work withÂ
Aside from that he also fears heâs going to hurt you and screw everything over
Try as he may, he canât stop these feelings flooding his mind because the more you interact with him, the urge to just have you in his arms grows strongerÂ
What completely draws him in is that you donât push him away in the rare instances he decides to talk about his emotions and you accept him as he is
At this point, V is just completely entranced by you
Unsurprisingly, Griffon (who has too much knowledge about humans and human relationships for a demonic bird) starts beating some sense into Vâs head and encourages him to just tell you how he feels
So V looks for signs that you might see him as more than a friend
If youâre showing all the right signs, V will decide to come cleanÂ
Heâs going to invite you somewhere private, where there is no chance of anyone interrupting. He even sends Griffon and Shadow away so you two can truly be alone (the closest you will get to being truly alone since having Nightmare out is quite a hassle)
It wonât be the âwe need to talkâ kind of invitation, Vâs going to be casual about it and ask you to meet up somewhere (or just show up at your door unexpectedly)
Even after getting you alone, he wonât confess right away. Heâs going to strike up a conversation and just let you talk. Not that he wouldnât participate in the conversation but he will let you do most of the talking
Once youâve finished talking, V will finally admit he has something to tell you
At first, he wonât look you in the eyes, choosing to look at the ground instead but after a few moments he collects himself and faces you and it is then when you notice how soft his expression actually is. Itâs full of love and adoration which you feel heâs been trying so hard to hide. Yet there is seriousness in his eyes and if you look hard enough you can also catch a hint of nervousness.Â
Heâll tell you how heâs come to appreciate and admire you, how he cares about you and holds you dear. Heâll keep it short but sincere
There is a small pause before he finally speaks the wordsÂ
âIâve fallen in love with you.â
Before you even manage to say something, V will finish his confession with a quote from a poemÂ
If you donât return his feelings, he will be hurt but wonât show much emotion. Heâll look down and nod then stand up to leave
If you do return his feelings, he will visibly relax and give you a soft smile. You feel like itâs been at least half an hour since youâve lost yourself in his eyes and you almost donât feel him leaning in
