Simon is a music education student at Uppsala University (with a secret dream of becoming a singer) and lives with his boyfriend Marcus who attends the same university. He’s been convincing himself that he’s happy until one day the truth becomes too big to hide from himself, and he finds himself fleeing his abusive relationship. Unfortunately, this leaves him needing to find a new apartment, and fast.
Wille is the newly ex-Prince of Sweden and his abdication has been trending all over the news for the past few months. He’d been doing his military service for the last nine months and has decided to enroll at Uppsala University to study social work. The chaos of his abdication and enrolling in university leave him needing to find a new apartment, and fast.
TLDR: A roommates to lovers story involving love, heartbreak, abuse, healing, and learning how to love again.

I really hope you enjoy!
Also always feel free to ask me anything about the story or just anything in general! I fear I’m a big fan of yapping 🤭
Simon returns from the road exhausted, only to find Wille fitting into the quiet corners of his life a little too well. As the Robins begin to change on the field, Simon’s own defenses start to crack under the weight of what he wants, and what he’s afraid to lose.

Things are certainly starting to get a little messy… 😈
I started trying to write Wilmon, and so I've started on these little candle based drabbles. This is the first one, 567 words, total fluff, G.
*
They don’t get power until the second day they move into their apartment.
Simon is worked up about it, pacing scuffed footprints in a diagonal line across the floorboards while bossa nova hold music plays on speaker from the phone in his palm.
Wille had been on their balcony taking photos of the skyline, rooftops, horizon. There’s a giddy feeling fizzing in his limbs.
The word ours keeps repeating. Our balcony, our living room, our shower, our drawers, our doorbell, our spiderwebs in the corner.
But Simon’s muttered cursing brings him back to earth when he steps inside.
Wille is intercepting him in 3 strides. His hands find Simon’s shoulders, gentling him to a stop. His mouth presses a kiss to the hinge of Simon’s jaw.
“Hang up,” he whispers.
“Wille,” Simon complains, but Wille can feel the bend in him already.
The hold music pauses for a second, like a human might be about to answer, but then it loops back to the start. Simon groans, and Wille catches it on his tongue, pulling him into a deep kiss.
When they break apart, Simon blinks, and Wille lists the reasons for him. It’s late spring, the sun will be out late, it will be like camping, they can get takeout, they can use each other for warmth, it’s good for the environment Simon…
The hold music finally ends and is replaced by the magical melody of Simon’s laughter.
“Ok fine,” Simon tells him, “but you have to go get supplies.”
Wille does.
He gets tealight candles and lines them up neatly along every window sill, all the counters. It turns the apartment into a warm, glittering cave.
It’s the first time he’s lit a candle anywhere he’s lived. The fire risk to ancient paintings and school rules glimmer away into his past as he lights the candles diligently one by one while the sun sets red through the window.
They eat burgers and fries by candlelight, and Wille puts a glow stick halo on Simon’s head, for old times sake. He lines a crooked glowing pathway on the floor so they can find the toilet, and spells out his and Simon’s name with them in the empty bedroom.
They don’t have much stuff yet - a sofa Linda said she didn’t need now both kids were out of home, a few stacks of Wille’s books, Simon’s desk and computer, the electric piano Wille got for his 18th birthday. They both agreed they would decorate once they were officially moved in. Wille knows, at least for himself, that there is still a sore part of him that doesn’t like to plan too far ahead, too afraid of what might go wrong.
They had ordered a mattress and flat pack bed frame, and it arrived in the late afternoon. Both of them were too tired to deal with instructions, so they just rip the plastic cover off the mattress and cover it with blankets and pillows.
Simon crashes out on it, while Wille goes and blows out all the candles.
He climbs in next to Simon. They look through the French doors out at the lights in the neighbourhood.
Wille finds Simon’s fingers, linking them with his own under the blankets.
“It’s not so bad,” Simon says. “I mean, we don’t have much yet, but it’s… nice. Just being here.”
Look how pretty and happy he looks! Cant wait to wait online again tomorrow🥰
And I love that fans are travelling to see him and that you also get to see the sound check. Soundcheck sometimes looks even more fun to watch than the actual performance. (Because he improvises, does the little half dancing, messing around with the dancers, I love backstage stuff)
Simon’s time on the road with the Robins makes it harder to separate work from whatever he and Wille are becoming. Between stolen privacy, pretending, and Wille's reckless decisions, Simon is forced to confront what it means to be someone’s secret.
Read it here on ao3! These boys are certainly continuing to get crazier. I hope you like it! 🤭
something i don't see talked about a lot but always makes me emotional on re-reads of tlg is the fact that even after shane is unwillingly outed to the world, and as a direct result:
unjustly suspended from his job
condemned by one of his best friends
condemned by his teammates
dissected by the media
threatened by the commissioner
accused of cheating at the sport he has dedicated his whole life to; and
raked over the coals for a true accident
he STILL goes to watch ilya play
without question or concern, he sits in the audience to watch ilya in round 2 alongside the team that just kicked him out of the playoffs and caused tripgate
he spends tlg in debilitating fear over the possibility of someone figuring them out and goes to such extreme lengths to keep that from happening that he doesn't even have a photograph to show for an 11-year relationship
but still, ilya mentions he can get tickets for shane and his parents to come see him play and shane doesn't spend a second worrying it may fuel rumours, bring unwanted attention to his relationship, put him in a generally uncomfortable position - he actually brightens at the suggestion and then happily sits in the audience to cheer ilya on 😭
