NAKED. {Stripping down to the real you} 2 of 10 You know that saying at the dinner table "your eyes are bigger than your stomach?" Well it relates to our focus and our idea of want vs need in life. Do not let all things that you see, consume your every thought and desire. Most things that we truly desire come from within and from our experiences. With a minimalist approach and view on things, when you have your heart or mind set on something (person, goal, etc.) you won't let other "things" get in the way. We find ourselves most focused when we [want] something right then and there. Truly have a moment to yourself and really think about what it is you want, not what you see others [possessing] but what YOU want. Not all things we see, are things we truly want or need, we just want them because that is what society tells us we need or your attention to seeking others approval.

NAKED. Stripping down to the real you. 1 of 10 (intro.)
Time to get “NAKED”, well not literally, but have you talked to YOU lately? Most people would say, “yea I talk to myself all the time”. Do You? Do you really check into your feelings? No? Well you should. No one knows you better than you. We day to day are making sure others are okay, checking in on our significant other, giving that close friend advice. Make sure you are giving yourself just as much attention, If not more! Nothing is better than a clear mind, clear vision, helps us to be more productive and goal driven.
Make a List and attack it one by one, cross it off if you have to. Make today easier. Work smarter not harder. Believe that you can accomplish anything and you will accomplish most. | #SimplyDubb #dailyreads #motivation #budget #smartliving #minimalist #creativity #productivity #millionairemindset #mindset #growth #personalfinance #minimalistblog #lifetips #moneytips #excessiveconsumerism

7 TIPS TO AVOID IMPULSE SHOPPING
1. “DON’T GO!” - If you don’t have the will power to stop yourself to buying virtually anything, just simply don’t go. You know yourself better than anyone. If you see the store on your way home, take a different route. If you have to run an errand near a store, see if there is another way to complete that task or ask someone to take it for you if they are near-by.
2. TAKE CASH. - The easiest way to not spend a ton of money, is to simply take what you need (preferably cash) into the store, so that you stay on a strict budget. You can’t buy, with what you don’t have.
3.SAY “NO” - Just ask yourself a simple question: “Do I NEED it?” When you truly understand the meaning of want vs need, this will become easier for you.
4.MAKE A LIST. - When we map out or plan our day, we are more likely to be productive and feel accomplished. Before you head out to the grocery store, or even a retail store (Target & Walmart -where most impulse spending happens) MAKE A LIST (check it twice lol) and stick to the things you need to avoid buying things that catch the eye. Stay focused Get In, Get Out mentality.
5.RESEARCH. - Do Your Research! Many products that we want to acquire, are located in different stores, for different prices at times. Many stores run promotions during a certain time of the week (i.e. Michael’s sales all week long all the time). Get the app. A lot of retailers are throwing out coupons on a regular basis. Pull that barcode up on your smartphone and save a couple bucks! Lastly, in retail shops, a full price item can be found in the clearance section at a cheaper price! For example, In H&M, I found a nice sweater for this fall and went to ring it up and right before I checked out, I spotted the same sweater in the clearance section! It just hadn’t been moved or “marked down” yet.
6. “Debt Loves Company” - A lot of the time when we go shopping we like to bring a friend for their advice or styling tips. This can be good thing and or a bad thing. If you bring company along to shop with you, don’t bring the ones that will persuade you to buy literally, EVERYTHING. You need a “No Man” in your corner, that will encourage you to ask those questions of “Do you really need it?” or “That is a little pricey, lets see if another store has it cheaper”. Goooood Friend, Smaaaart Friend.
7.DO THE MATH. - When shopping and you stumble across a want item (something you may not really need). Think of this formula:
(YOUR PAY) x (NUMBER OF HOURS TO PAY FOR ITEM) = COST OF ITEM
Less is More.
Minimalist
Shop-o-holic? Its Cool, me too.
Tip #1 : “I have this just in a different color” Now this is just a sign that you literally want to have everything. If you have a black phone case, and you see a blue one later on in the same exact style, should you really buy it? Think about it. The case serves the same purpose to protect. If your black phone case does the job, you don’t need it.
Tip #2 : “I don’t wear that anymore” Before you even go to the mall to “revamp” or “spice up” your wardrobe, consider evaluating what you do have and if it is something that is still functional. We often go into stores with no idea in mind of what we are looking for. Right? So take a moment and if there is something you really want to add to your wardrobe consider these points:
A. Is it functional
B. Does it Fit?
C. Have more than one?
D. Can you trade this in for something different (return it, exchange it, consignment shop, etc.)
Tip #3 “It is old” Old is the new Black. Vintage clothing, and thrifting can be extremely rewarding in most cases. For example, I wanted a Levi’s Denim multi-functional jacket. (When I say multi-functional, I mean it can be used to dress up, dress down, or work with almost any outfit) I tried to legitimize that spending $60- $80 bucks on a jacket would be great because it will last a long time. In this case that may be true! Before I went to spend money on the Jacket, I thought to give a local thrift store a shot. (I am a Female who is a menswear enthusiast so that is all I wear, Men’s clothing.) After searching for about 30 minutes I came across a Vintage Levis Light wash denim jacket for 8 bucks! A fraction of the cost of a brand new Jacket. Although it is second hand, it still was new to me. Moral of this long drawn out story is…there is always a better bargain just have to utilize your time wisely and go for it!
Welcome.
You probably were recommended by, myself, or some other random. Well, good! This blog is going to be my visual and written record of my journey of going from, “debt-driven, shop-o-holic fashionista” to a “less is more” lifestyle. Simply put…simply me...B Dubb.
