The reason why Iām disappointed in Woolyās character reveal is not because my theory that he was a child raised by Hameln was wrong, but because the route they took was very basic and felt lazy.
Before anything, I used to believe in the āWooly is a Hameln Employeeā theory, but started to believe that he was a child raised by Hameln because something like that would be a better twist and would explain his whole character.
We see a good amount of stuff that shows how Hameln treats children, and they treat them like shit (example REBECCAāS WHOLE THING MY GIRL DIDNT DESERVE THAT ABUSE). The children that they were taking care of, as seen in a report on a board in the facility, were most certainly neglected, which is why Hameln would give them treats so they would shut the fuck up.
When a child is neglected, they develop abandonment and codependency issues. And who do we see in the games that shows those traits in their mannerisms? WOOLY.
Another thing wouldāve been cool with that choice is that it would contrast with Rebeccaās past. Rebecca had a good life, a happy life, when people payed attention to her and loved her, where she had friends and was never abandoned. But all of that got taken away by Hameln. He never got to experience a good life and never had anyone by his side, so his mental growth mightāve been stunted. But he shouldnāt show it. He doesnāt want to upset Hameln.
Now, contrast that to what Marcusā life wouldāve been if they went with that. He was ALWAYS with Hameln, was neglected, never had any friends, was never truly loved and was isolated from the world. That would explain why Wooly is so ATTACHED to Amanda.
Having him turn out to be a Hameln employee makes everything he does seem VERY predatory, not to mention the things he said in the third game.
If Wooly turned out to be a child raised by Hameln, that would explain why heās so obedient towards them, too. They took care of him (they didnāt gaf), put a roof over his head, fed him. If he were to disobey them, who knows what could happen.
ALSO ANOTHER THING the reason why Wooly acts so childish sometimes as an adult is so fucking stupid and itās explained as āhe never grew upā. HELLO?????
Making him a kid would explain that stuff SO much better than being an adult that ānever grew upā. It just feels so unnatural.

Ok but srsly I just had a random spike in motivation to return to the fandom and Iām pretty sure this will last like a week at best but I just wanted to post something while Iām at it (I got like 3 tests tmrw and Iām doing this Iām so productive)
Ok so this fixation is mainly on the toytoy trio(+ my oc that I drew once and never again), and also btw all the drawings are like atleast 5 months before spudnick got killed so..
I got a few hcs for it lololol
TW: very OOC, also might have angst
1. Very obvious from my drawings, SMG1 is transmasc
2. ANOTHER SMG1 TRANS HC, Partially the reason why he started learning meme energy magic(aside from just generally being interested in it), he wanted to use his powers to transition into a transmasc much easier.
3. Spudnick, SMG1 and SMG2 were around 17ish(spudnick was just stupid as fuck) mentally even with spudnick being canonically like 14 ingame before spudnick got killed, while spuddles was both mentally and ingame around 7 years old
4. SMG2 was like a god at video games, so much so that spudnick would sometimes rage so hard heād break the controller
5. Practically canon, SMG2 was insanely clumsy, like they were universes punching bag level clumsy
6. Bloc(SMG1 but leggy like) started to exist shortly after spudnickās death, this is likely due to unhealed trauma.
7. Partially the reason why SMG1 usually never wears clothes is that most of the clothes option they had for his body was dresses, any Mrs dysphoria didnāt like that.
8. Spuddles is SPUDNICKāS LITTLE SISTER, she is in no way a love interest or the peach of the toytoy trio, she is kinda like an assistant/helper who helps then navigate on their adventures.
8. Spuddles is very observant, she can spot the smallest details. This has helped the others a shit ton(she was the one who found out that the usbs have an antivirus feature)
9. The squad would often have sleepovers where the four of them would huddle up in a large blanket with three pillows and just doze off, but smg1 snores so fucking loud that usually spudnick wouldnāt be able to sleep at all.
10. SMG1 used to think that SMG1 meant āSpudnick meme girl 1ā and SMG2 meant āSpudnick meme guy 2ā, this was before they found out what it actually meant
11. How an SMG ages is dependent on their avatar, so if an avatar ages, so does their guardians and vice versa, but if an avatar dies, then the smgās body doesnāt fully recognize them as an SMG and while they can still use their powers, they now age like a normal character(and slightly faster to catch up to the years they didnāt age) and can be somewhat more vulnerable. Which is why SMG1 and SMG2 stayed physically 14 for the 7 years they lived with spudnick but are now in their 30s
12. The hc above also applies for the avatarās siblings, which is why spuddles is currently around 24 years old(she was added later into the game)

The memory in the other universe ep isnāt completely accurate to what actually happened, it was severely altered by smg1 and smg2 mental wellbeing in order to cope(like they werenāt nearly as knowledgeable with meme energy as was showcased in the memory bc smg1 felt like it was his fault for being āstupidā, and smg2 saw a shit ton of people die including people he was close with but blocked them all from their memory)
13. SMG1 and SMG2 share a pod and are essentially twins, itās bc smg1 mentioned that it was his pod yet the memory was in smg2ās perspective, implying that itās also smg2ās pod
14. SMG1 and Spuddles are actually really close, spuddles looked up to smg1 as a leader back when they were in the toytoy kingdom and still kinda does today.
15. Spuddles lived alone in the apartment her, smg1 and smg2 shared after the anniversary movie, this was the 2nd lowest point of her life and she felt like she wanted to give up(she thought both smg1 and smg2 died)
16. Smg1 gave spuddles a gun and a trash can lid to protect herself after spudnickās death, the same items she used to survive bobās clients 9 years later
17. Spuddles knew Bob a year before smg1 did due to that client incident I mentioned earlier, their chill with eachother but spuddles questionās smg1ās taste in men.
18. She would teach spudbo how to bring rats home to annoy the fuck out of smg1 and Bob like the good aunt she is.
