I had the inspiration to write not too long ago but I was kinda hesitant to post since I haven’t posted in a year but here it is! It’s not my best work and not very proof read so I’m sorry for mistakes (unironically I feel like I already wrote something like this but imma post anyway 😭)

He trudged along the worn out pavement track to their home. Each step was heavy with the burden he bore as a hashira, one of humanity’s beacons of hope that would eradicate the plague of demons.
Giyu had returned from a mission and was given the time off for completing it — though the time he would receive was short as it was intended for his recovery, he was thankful to have time he could dedicate to his beloved.
Though they weren’t married, he certainly viewed them as his spouse as they were his motivation to move forward and continue the fight.
He thought frequently of how he felt at home in their arms. The gentle caresses and soft words they would give to him when he was feeling doubt in himself, the smile they’d kindly give him when they were in his presence and the warmth they radiated that allowed him to feel vulnerable and emotional.
Often he felt undeserving of the golden heart they carried yet he wanted to preserve it for himself. He felt that they would be better off without someone like him in their life, that they would be better off with someone they could peacefully grow old with and live a normal life with, not with someone who was at the risk of being killed.
Giyu didn’t want them to feel the lingering sense of dread and overwhelming sadness of knowing there was a chance he would never come back one day. Yet he couldn’t bring himself to let them go, not the sunlight that gave him a sense of home.
He knew they would be home because they lived as an ordinary person — a simple herbal medication expert, who hopefully would never have to see bloodshed. He prayed that the day they had to wield a sword and carry a similar burden he did would never come.
As he approached the home, he felt his body grow heavy. He hadn’t realized just how tired he truly was: slaying demons night after night, the things he had seen of slaughtered humans — sometimes he couldn’t wrap his mind on how the human body could be destroyed so easily and yet his expression never changed.
Sapphire blue eyes remained dull at the sight of human agony but it lit the fire in him to destroy demons, the sword he held and swung was the only thing he could do for them in the end.
He opened the sliding door of the small wooden home, quietly stepping inside and heading towards the other side that led to the garden.
Giyu felt the emotional weight lift off his shoulders at the delicate sight of them. Their hair was pinned out of their face with the help of a pin he had given them, a plain slightly worn yukata with the sleeves held back with a thin ribbon tied behind them, soft stains of dirt and water coated the front of the f/c fabric, a look of concentration etched onto their face as they diligently wrote a small note before stuffing it away in their yukata. A small woven bamboo basket filled with harvested herbs neatly bound together and organized was settled beside them as their crouched form plucked out weeds and other unwanted roots into a separate basket for waste.
They stood up with the medicinal herb-filled basket in their hands, a gentle smile on their face while their eyes sparkled at the sight of the vibrant green of incoming blooms and the small purple blossoms on the sprigs of rosemary.
All of their heart was poured into the care they dedicated to their garden as the herbs they grew and harvested were made into various types of medicines that healed local villagers and even some of the demon slayers that would visit them.
Their shoulders seemingly stiffened but immediately relaxed at sensing a familiar presence behind them before quickly turning to face the person.
The basket fell from their hands as they caught sight of Giyu’s disheveled battle worn form. Tears formed in the corners of their eyes, it had been a while since they had last seen him.
“Giyu!” Their voice was laced with shock and some form of happiness at seeing him again as they took hurried steps towards him.
He smiled lightly, a faint glimmer of hope in his eyes as he took a few steps towards them to close the gap and practically collapsed in their arms as they reached him.
Giyu inhaled the soft floral aroma that stained their yukata. He knew from the scent that they had been harvesting the lavender stalks and roses that grew in order to start their drying process.
His own arms embraced their frame as he nuzzled his face into their shoulder. Sapphire eyes became glossy with tears as he held them close.

When they would walk back together to the butterfly mansion, she would just be so happy, reliving that memory of hearing the word ‘wife’
“After we slay everything, I promise you, I’ll get you your ring,” she would hear Y/n say, “So then you’ll officially be my wife,” they would say with a genuine smile making her flustered

How do you think the kamaboko squad + Sanemi would react to fem or gn reader accidentally/indirectly confessing that the like them? Like maybe they were gossiping with a friend of theirs and they happened to overhear the conversation? It can either be canonverse or modern au too! It sounds kinda silly now that I'm actually typing it out but whatever.

homie would probably not suspect it’s him because he would definitely feel that perhaps she was into someone else or not interested in a relationship
“Nezuko, how can I tell sun how I feel?” She would mutter a little embarrassed Nezuko’s hums and gentle pats of encouragement definitely helped in calming her down…“He’s just so precious, like the morning sun,” she’d laugh, “Sun is just so wonderful, I think I love him…”
Tanjiro would definitely think it’s sweet how she talks to Nezuko about her feelings and hearing Nezuko respond back to the best of her abilities made him smile though he did feel a little sad as he didn’t think it was him
He probably realized it was him when he would hear other descriptions about “sun” like the mention of gentle crimson eyes and burgundy toned hair — man’s would get all blushy blush
Would definitely internally cheer with a sigh of relief and a heart over his hand — that adorable smile on his face

He’d think about how cliche it all sounds yet it’s quite difficult to not feel inspired to take that advice for himself
Mans would do a whole mental checklist on thinking about who the possible contenders for who grumpy pants is
Until suddenly! He heard small details about his appearance and personality so he would realize
“Oh shit that’s me…wait that’s me”
No hesitation, would take her from her conversation with Kyojuro so that he could tell her about his feelings
💨 𝙰/𝙽: Howdy y’all today I offer you some Sanemi fluff 😭 I kept fighting myself if to write this idea for Giyu or Sanemi and end up going with the sweet boy Sanemi 😤 ngl this is definitely out of character for Nemi but um 👉👈my boy deserves happiness 😩 anyway ! uhhhh yeah, sorry it’s not one of the requests that have been collecting dust in my inbox especially the ones from last year 😭 I promise I’ll get to them, I just wanted to start off with a nonrequest to get back into it, enjoy!
Sanemi held a book in his hands, reading away his inability to sleep.
The warm toned light of the lamp burned brightly in the dark room. He had always felt terrible that his inability to sleep indirectly impacted his beloved who slept beside him, despite their constant reassurance that the light did not bother them as they faced away from it anyway.
He recalled their first night together, 5 years ago when they started living together. The way they were understanding of his insomniac tendencies, the soothing tired smile on their lips as they whispered to him that they didn’t mind so long as it made him feel better, that they would get used to it quickly.
He recalled the way they slept like a baby beside him, even quite angelically with the peace they radiated, his beloved laid beside him so adorably. It never ceased to amaze him that he had truly found his one and only and that he had the fortune of being able to have them by his side every day and night.
Their breathing was soft and silent, with one of their hands placed close to him as if indirectly asking him to hold it. A deep blush formed on his face that night as he felt a little bit like a creep for watching them sleep, yet it was soothing to him.
Sanemi shook his head, silver toned white locks gently swayed as if shaking away the thought. A faint smile on his lips as he watched over them again — a near mirror image of their first night together except they both wore wedding bands on their fingers.
“Nemi…” he heard their voice groggy and quiet.
Pale lilacs turned to see the face of his beloved as their eyes fluttered open, adjusting to the warm toned light of the lamp.
“Still can’t sleep...?” Their voice soft as they adjusted their position to look at him, the same sweet tired half smile on their lips.
A light blush of embarrassment formed on his cheeks as he averted his gaze for a second as he was essentially caught staring, “Sorry if the light is bothering you,” he gruffly whispered as he returned his gaze to them.
He hadn’t even realized that it was beyond his usual time for failed sleep attempts.
They sat up, adjusting themself to face him. A happy soft smile on their lips as they gently took the book from his hands, making sure to leave the bookmark on the proper page and setting it on the night stand beside him. A soft giggle escaped their lips as they looked upon his expression. He truly resembled a curious puppy.
“Come here,” they cooed softly as they held their arms open for him.
He practically dived into them, strong arms wrapping around them tenderly, as if he were afraid to let them go. Love poured between as their hearts met in their embrace. Sanemi buried his face into the crook of their neck, inhaling the soft scent of the detergent radiating off the hoodie that belonged to him but was frequently borrowed by Y/n.
They laughed quietly as they fell back to their pillow, bringing Sanemi down with them. His face rested beside their shoulder until they moved in the slightest to meet his attentive gaze.
Y/n looked intently into the pale lilac pools they loved dearly, a sweet smile on their lips. A hand placed on his cheek, gently caressing the scarred skin.
“My sweet Nemi…” their thumb ran across the skin they could cover, “I fall in deeper love with you every day. I can’t imagine not having you beside me…I had a dream that I lived without you and that terrified me,” their voice hushed as they spoke words laced in a sleepy love to the brim, “But then I woke up feeling so happy because you were still beside me…it’s so silly but I’m so happy that you’re here with me…”
He could hear his own heartbeat in his ears from the sheer happiness of hearing their loving words and as he felt the loving warmth from their hand on his face. A warmth that mimicked the rays of the morning sun.
Sanemi placed his hand over theirs, his own thumb gently caressing their own skin. His heart fluttered hearing their voice that resonated with love and truth.
“I feel that I was blessed with love to love you, and only you, my beloved,” a soft giggle escaped their lips as they moved as close as they could to him with their arms around him, “I’m sorry for interrupting your reading, I just wanted to tell you that before you slept…”
He brought them close to him, nearly pressing them into his chest. He radiated the warmth of a blanket, certainly he was more than enough to beat the cold of the winter nights.
Fingers delicately tangled in (h/c) locks as he embraced them, the love of his life.
Nights like these are what brought Sanemi peace, hearing their sleepy voice speak so freely, so lovingly — a gentle pillow talk that reminded him of their love for him and even had the power to ease him up to sleep. Every little moment from their soft yawns in between, their stifled giggles, the way they stirred in his arms as if fighting away sleep catching up to them just to keep him company while he was awake.
He loved every little moment. Sanemi truly loved them.
Sanemi quietly spoke, “Sometimes I wonder what I did or what my past life did to deserve you. Yet somehow, I’m certain that we must have met in a different lifetime — holding you, anything with you feels so natural and like it was meant to be. I love you Y/n…I was blessed to have you when I needed you most. It terrifies me to think of life without you to hold me, to love me.”
They smiled, their voice soft, “Aw Nemi…” gently they placed a hand over his heart, feeling the rapid beat that seemed to slow to normalcy with their touch.
The usually foul spoken rough and tough man let go of that image when he held them, essentially becoming a teddy bear in their arms. He loved them dearly for bringing that part of him out, heck he was even grateful for their encouragement to socialize more even if it was with someone as simple as the old lady who would occasionally come by to drop off sweets for the pair.
“I often think about how my life was before, all that anger I felt…and how you came and shined, lighting up my life and changed everything for the better. I think of how I’m in a much better place now,” his voice was quiet and smooth before pressing a kiss on the top of their head.
“I’m so thankful for you Y/n…and I hope you always know that,” a gentle smile laced his voice, eyes fluttering from a sudden wake of tiredness.
They hummed in agreement, “And I’m thankful for you Sanemi, please always know that too, okay? I love you my dear sweet Nemi.”
“I love you too, my sun,” his voice quiet and tired as he slowly fell asleep.
Sanemi had always called them his sun as they are the light of his life and yet, sun couldn’t begin to describe their shine and brightness.
