you know how we look up at the stars and we think wow, i wish i could go there
and clichés in love tell each other that they have stars in their eyes
but what so many of us don’t realize is that we’re made of the same stuff as the stars
we’re already there. we’ve always been there
you are stardust and you are wonder and you are awe
you are made of all that unfathomably beautiful, infinite light and power that illuminates the sky when everything seems bleak
you are hope and you are grace and you are life
and you are also fading and death and disappearing, because some of those points of light are long gone
ancient and destroyed by their own hunger to remain burning, to remain things that only the most eloquent of our insignificant race can describe, things that only the most intelligent and innovative can display
they couldn’t last any longer, but here you are
outliving what seems eternal
you’re seeing more than the stars were around for
you could look up at the sky and see your own ghost
traveling back in time without even realizing it
because hey, that’s you up there
so maybe the star-crossed lovers that we all hate to love are right
there are stars in your eyes and galaxies in your soul and everything is just as infinite as the people we call fools say it is
