OKAY So - Some of the tags work and some do not.  I don't know why.  I need to put together a slideshow of which ones work and see if we can find anything in common.  One thing to note is that they don't work if I just send the vector image to the program.  I actually use the Sprout's camera to make a trained version of the tag that it then tracks. Ones that work:

1 - Lizard

6 - Bird

7 - Turkey

9 - Thing..?

Ones that fail:

2 - Bear claw

3 - Star

4 - Moon

5 - Corn

8 - House

I also have a pile of hand-drawn ones that work.  I think some of them failed because they were too small, but I've also hand drawn some that are like one square cm that work.  Here they are:

Why not?  No idea.  Maybe it has to do with enclosed space?   I have 9 right now that are usable, although half of them are hand-drawn.

How to compare two shapes?

Is there a way to compare two geometric shapes (or any two more generic data structures), without using the brute force when a tolerance is involved? The brute force (that is comparing each value of

So that’s why my polygon detection by area didn’t work.  The polygon points aren’t sorted correctly. What that function is supposed to do is go from one point in the list to the next and draw lines between them.  If the points were in the correct order, the green and blue lines would outline the white building blobs.

 I tried to sort them based on their angle from the center point, but that obviously won’t work for very convex polygons like #1 up there.  Its center point is outside the polygon itself.  It skips around, so the area calculation will not work properly, and neither will my future turning function.

I need to think of a better way to sort the points to make sure they’re in order from the get-go, then I should be solid on IDing the buildings!
