JASON: June, your animosity–not animosity–but your legitimate fears of technology are compelling.
PAUL: June, tell Jason what happened when I brought home BB-8.
JASON: Oh? You brought home BB-8? The robot?
PAUL: The robot from “Star Wars”–
JUNE: First of all, I didn’t know what the fuck it was! You just brought it home. It arrived!
JASON: You didn’t know what it was? You say that in a way that, even to look at it, you wouldn’t conceptually understand what it was fundamentally.
JUNE: I HOPED that it was some sort of character or figurine.
JASON: As if he brought home Gizmo the Gremlin!
PAUL: All I know is, he placed it on our floor and it started ROAMING ABOUT and I didn’t like it.
JASON: You didn’t like it?
PAUL: What was the first question you asked.
JUNE: Oh, I don’t remember.
PAUL: You said, “What’s its mission?”
JASON: *laughing for prolonged period* What’s its mission? WHAT’S ITS MISSION?!
PAUL: What’s its mission.
JUNE: What is it here for?
JASON: Paul, did you go to the book [ie the booklet that comes with the robot] and be like, “Oh boy let me look at this”?
PAUL: No, I did the worst thing. Which was like, “Don’t worry about it. It will monitor our house.”
JASON: *cackling* It’s just here to take pictures!!
JUNE: I think I have a healthy skepticism.
PAUL: And then you told me immediately, as I took it off the floor and what’d you say to me?
PAUL: You said, get that the fuck out of her or I’m going to throw it in the garbage. It is now hidden from June. BB-8 cannot be out in public with June.
