Rainy Days (Closed RP W/ Locke + Ari)

Actually, seeing Locke remove his hat, Ari gained the same idea, though his had a different outcome than the other mobster’s. Removing his black-as-coal fedora, he used it to begin fanning his face calmly, enjoying the swish of cool air as it brushed against his sweaty cheeks. If this weather didn’t clear up soon, how would he manage to get back home anyway? He’d had plans today to buy something and return home…

He couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow at the comment the taller male made. Was he seriously trying to one up him every step of the way? Tch, not like it really mattered anyway; he’d let him have this victory for now. “Eh, a blimp, huh? Sounds pretty highbrow, even for this shit country we live in–oops don’t let anyone know I said that or they might piss their diapers.” If they did manage to drop a ton of money into another war, he’d have to go scrap digging again for metal parts to sell for overpriced pennies… “Ohio?! I ain’t ever bein’ drafted to no stinkin’ war; my name ain’t even gonna come up in those stupid papers the government seems to lick with their stupid tongues!”

The firm grip Locke gave in return was appreciated by the smaller male; most people seemed to think he would just give them a simply shake, but Ari wasn’t there to just give them a cutesy look, he’d break their wrists if they thought that lowly of him! It’s a bunch of posers that shook his hand with gentle intention. “Eh? Mr. Newlove holds formal parties under awnin’s all the damn time!”

Ari using his hat to fan himself was an idea that didn’t go unnoticed by the mobster. In fact, he thought it was a damn good idea; why didn’t he think of that? With a slight shrug, he was quick to flick the half-used cigarette into the street in front of him, watching as it quickly got washed down the street and into the nearest sewer. Not caring about the littering, he started to fan himself as well. The fact he was also wearing two shirts and a dark jacket wasn’t necessarily helping the humid situation around him.

The expression on the other’s face hinted tot he mobster that he just won this argument, much to his amusement. It’s not everyday he gets to one-up someone; especially not in a conversation of this caliber. “Lips are sealed, pal,” He replied towards Ari’s comment,  a smirk on his face like always. “We don’t want them big babies down in D.C soil’in themselves and cryin’ ‘bout ‘Muh United States.’ This place’s ‘bout as shitty as a sewer, but they don’t realize it.”

Truth be told, if America were to go to war again, Locke would likely have to go on the run. He – and the rest of his family – would much rather be a draft dodger than take part in something they try their damnedest to avoid. After all, not only is a War great for the loan-shark business, but with Locke’s little secret, it’d be too dangerous to send him somewhere he could lose control at. “You shittin’ me?” Locke replied in regard’s to Ari’s comment about his name never appearing in the draft papers. The Segreti family knew them well, after all, the mobster’s own father was almost drafted to fight in the previous one, but got out of it with a few slick words, a baseball bat, and a bride. “What’re ya gonna do, swing batter-batter their knee-caps if they try to send ya overseas?”

He nodded at the other’s statement. “Wow, then this is the best damn party I’ve been to since my grandma’s one hundredth birthday.” He said in a snarky, smart-assy tone. He was only kidding of course, but he didn’t know if Ari would pick up on that.

Watching Locke toss out his cigarette gave Ari the same idea as well. removing his drained carbon monoxide stick from his mouth, he tossed it as well and smirked as it went down the drain. Ever since the problems of the shit streets got resolved, he couldn’t help but admire the fact he could actually throw something out with ease like that now. It was a great use of trash, right?

“If they thought this nation was so great, they’d fix a bunch of shit already! The fact I can’t eat in a bunch of three star places really pisses me off, even though I’m a damn Newlove!” The thought raged within his mind like a storm and his teeth gritted together for a mere few moments before he threw it aside. “I hope they get dysentery and die; the only good thing about this place is that I make a livin’.”

Once more Ari had to snort at Locke’s question, a snide nod what he received in response, though it was really meant to symbolize his truth in the matter. “Accordin’ to the documents, I ain’t alive anymore; in fact, since my family has its own doctor, I ain’t got reason to care ‘bout some damn war! Hah, we don’t even use those shit banks ‘cus they suck at their damn jobs!” The reveal of his slightly depressing past wasn’t intentional, but it did serve as a purpose to truth. He’d never have to be drafted so long as he saw fit. Not only that, a smoke or drink was at his home so he didn’t need to show ID unless he got 'nabbed by some cops.

That wasn’t what Ari expected to hear, his ears perked up and his eyes trained on the other in surprise. “Shit, she should come by the Newlove’s; Mr. Newlove has a shittin’ love for old bats! He even gives 'em some good ass wine.”

Ari’s statement about the government not fixing the nation because they didn’t think it was so great themselves caused some gears to turn in his head. Bringing his hand to his scruffy chin, he rubbed it thoughtfully, before a lightbulb went off over his head. “Maybe they ain’t fixin’ shit on purpose ta’ make life hell for us, but theys living it all with their gourmet crap on a silver plate.” He could ultimately agree with the other’s statement about not getting to eat in places even somewhat decent; hell, his family still lives in a shoddy apartment despite the fact they had a decent amount of cash from their loan-sharking; partially to avoid arousing suspicion, but mostly because they’re just not allowed to move on up in the world.

He couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow at the other’s statement, his mouth gaping slightly in shock. “Youse’ the liveliest lookin’ dead person I’ve ever seen.” He joked, mostly in an attempt to calm himself at the sudden reveal. “But damn, that’s one of the best ideas I’ve ever heard.” He soon admitted. Not only did that help further prove the point that this guy was probably a mobster from a rival gang, but it also gave him the idea that his family should get their own doctor. He was also going to comment on the bank statement, but ultimately found himself agreeing with that. I mean, his family was a family of loan sharks; they were practically a bank of greed.

The idea of his one hundred year old grandma partying with some old dad type of guy resulted in an awkward snort from Locke; both feeling amused and rather disturbed. “He speak Spanish? If he does, I might pass the word on; Abuela Rosa loves a good party.”

Ari reached up and moved a strand of hair off his forehead. "Heh, I'm more lively than the Titanic before it sunk. It ain't too bad bein' dead, though, but there's some...annoyances. I gots to make sure I don't go some place where they card ya, I have to wait for cigarettes to get delivered to me, and if I gets shot out in public, I gotta get home to see a doc or else they's gonna get get suspicious." As time went on, he seemed to grow more comfortable around the guy, even though he'd just met him. What's the pain, though? A bunch of people wouldn't believe some kid who said Ari was dead, and, furthermore, they wouldn't find it strange he had a home doctor; a lot of people had one. 

"He speaks Italian and English," Ari replied, staring forward in thought. Maybe it was similar enough to each other for them to properly communicate? "I'm pretty sure Spanish and Italian are freakin' similar enough, huh?"

Ari settled back now, feeling less tense around this stranger than before. He was used to the standoffish people he met naturally, but this guy seemed…alright for the time being. One snappy comment, though, and Ari would rip his bowels out through his throat–a reverse disemboweling. Even still, it wasn’t natural he’d find someone so laid back unless they were a drifter, a mobster, or one of those annoying beggars on the street. 

“Tch, you have no idea how much those idiots irk me. Ain’t anyway we’d of gotten outta that stupid depression had it not been for that war. Bet'cha ten thousand grand in another sixty years, they’ll be cryin’ about another one! Hope I’m dead and gone before that stupid shit happens…” Taking a seat in the chair nearest the stranger, he crossed one leg over the other and allowed himself a long and necessary drag of his cigarette. 

Oh, if Ari had to spend a dime every time he heard someone utter that phrase, he’d be broke before an hour’s time! Nobody was free of debt in this damn world… They just were waiting on the reason to get there and riding the tailcoats of financial stability while it lasted.

“Ya ain’t givin’ me ya last name? That’s fine,” he stated, blowing out a long trail of smoke that dissipated in the rain. “No skin off my damn nose, because I ain’t got nothin’ to hide from some stranger; the name’s Ari Newlove; displeased to be at ya service, pal.”

Okay, maybe this guy wasn’t as bad as he first though. He definitely liked to run his mouth, he seemed to always be so angry, there’s a good chance he probably had a gun on him – not that Locke didn’t have one of his own. One wrong move, and he’d wind up staring down the barrel of a pistol… So of course, he kept on conversing with the stranger. Live life on the edge, that’s what he always tells himself.

Although getting bit by a werewolf likely wasn’t in the plans of that; but that was a totally off subject point, so long as no one knew his secret, that was.

He simply smirked at the other complaining about both the depression and the war, actually completely agreeing with what he had to say. “Ain’t that the truth. Screw up the country, screw up the economy, then screw up people’s lives ‘cuz some idiots up in Europe can’t keep their balls in their pants and want eeeeeeverybody to know they’s the biggest baddest sons’a bitches the world’s ever seen.” He paused for a moment, taking a long puff of the cigarette still burning between his fingers. “I won’t even give ‘em sixty years before they start this shit again; maybe forty if we’re lucky.”

Upon Ari telling him his name, he smiled, tipping his hat in a friendly manner, but keeping a mental note to himself. Newlove… where has he heard that name before… it seemed familiar, but he couldn’t put a finger on it. “Displeasure’s all mine, Ari.” He teased slightly, kicking himself off the wall and extending his hand for a hand-shake. “Didn’t know ya wanted ta’ know my last name too; didn’t think this was formal shit.”

Regaining his  composure, he continued his talk with the surprisingly interesting individual next to him; the way he talked to him almost made him feel like he’d hesitate to pop him–almost.

America’s got some big balls, right? “Psh, with the way these idiots are actin’ about that Red country, I can’t even give ‘em a week at this rate!” The USSR definitely was a nuisance but not really one he cared about in the slightest; he really wasn’t the patriotic type in the least, though, so that might explain why–or it might have to do with the fact he broke the law on a regular basis anyway… “We’re screwed and got nowhere to run, so might as well cause some mischief while we can get our grubby hands on it.”

Standing up now, he extended his hand and took hold of Locke’s. “Since we got the suits, why wouldn’t we be actin’ all formal and shit?” Even though he still was unaware of Locke’s last name, he still shook his hand like it didn’t matter. “So long as ya don’t mind not bein’ able to eat in most establishments, then ya be a good enough acquaintance.”

Locke simply took another puff of his cigarette as he waited for the Ari’s response, appearing not to care about the slight burning the smoke was causing in his nose. The humidity in the air seemed to be bothering him just as much as it was his new acquaintance, resulting in him taking a moment to take his hat off once again and air off his – now slightly greasy – shaggy hair.

He was part of the way taking his hat off when the other responded, talking about how he couldn’t even give them a week, resulting in a slight snort from the mobster. “Pshh, I give ‘em eleven minutes. Just watch, some big blimp’ll come flyin’ by with a sign sayin’ ‘We’re at war with the USSR now’.” In actuality, he hoped that wouldn’t happen; the last thing he wanted was to be forced to fight in a war he wanted no part of. He would have to admit though, it’d be pretty funny. Ari’s other comment did take him back slightly; what did he mean by mischief? “Actually, we could probably just run to, like, Ohio or some shitty Midwestern place like that and hide in the cornfields; doubt anyone could find us there, and we’d get all the corn we could eat.” He teased, not wanting to arouse suspicion by commenting on the ‘mischief’ part of the sentence.

Upon Ari grabbing a hold of his hand to shake it, who couldn’t notice how unusually tight the grip was; for someone that size, he didn’t expect his wrist to be put through a choke hold – not that it bothered Locke. He just smiled and tried to replicated an equally tight grip on the other’s hand. Upon being asked why they wouldn’t be formal, the mobster simply snickered. “We’re stuck under an awning ‘cuz someone up there can’t hold their whisky; the only thing less formal‘s a kid’s birthday party.” He paused at Ari’s statement of not being able to eat at places, nodding in affirmation. “ ‘S fine, ain’t really hungry anyways.”

Lowering his arms to his side, he placed his hands on his hips and glared upward, still visibily annoyed about the water getting on him in the first place. Honestly, this guy should really watch where he’s shaking, because this suit cost him all of his weekly salary. If he had anything to say at the second, he’d be spewing out insults but he refrained when he was taken aback by the other’s comment.

His cigarette carefully held in his hand to avoid burning his clothing, he moved it back up without a glance and sucked in another heaping dose of cancer.

“A couple grand?” He asked, bewilderment spreading across his face. That scruffy dog man actually could afford a suit that expensive? “If it shrank on you, then I could wear it, but I ain’t lookin’ for hand-me-downs–unless some punk died in it; it’s the closest I get ta wearin’ his skin out in public.“

Despite the look the man was giving him, in his eyes, it seemed more like there was a small child trying look bigger than they were. After all, Locke had to be at least a good foot taller than the small fry beside him. He was a mobster for crying out loud, he shouldn’t be bothered by the other’s annoyance.

However, the sudden bewilderment did come as a surprise. Given the outfit the small man was wearing, he figured the idea of others wearing an expensive suit wouldn’t have been so shocking.

“Yeah, like, three grand I think? I dunno, my memory ain’t the best when it comes to shopping.” He admitted, adjusting his hat so it’d fit squarely ontop of his head rather than floating on his hair.

A slight smirk crossed itself onto his face when he listened to what the other had to say; at least, about his suit shrinking down. “Heh…” He spoke quietly, digging into his jacket’s pocket and pulling a cigarette from it’s packaging, quieting down at the other’s statement. Note to self, don’t piss this guy off.

“Say, you got a light I can use?” He asked. If he was going to get cancer, he’d at least want it from a brand he actually liked.

Shaking his head in complete disbelief, he took the comment as a grain of rice and threw it to the back of his mind; if he were desperate enough to put this fact to fiction, he’d have to actually care enough. Then again, this guy could be one of those dumb credit bumpers… That was the whole reason they fell into that depression, wasn’t it?

If he cared, he’d warn him about his credit usage, but he didn’t…so he clamped that comment down and moved on.

“Heh, ya want a light?” Lifting his head up and removing his box of matches from his pocket, he held them out to him. “Don’t use too many; ya won’t like me when ya in debt to me… Matches ain’t cheap enough for me to care about some scruffy stranger. The hell’s ya name anyway?”

Leaning back against the wall, Locke, in all honesty, had no idea what to make of this complete stranger. He was short, angry, and seemed to have a sure-fire temper. If it wasn’t for his mob ties, chances are he’d be a lot more intimated by the half-pint than he really was. Why he got trapped under this awning with him of all people, is completely and totally beyond him.

He was quick to pick up on the slight snark the other had to his tone, and replied back with an equally cheeky grin, slightly flashing his sharp canine teeth as he gladly accepted the matches. “Relax, relax; you don’t gotta worry about debt wit’ me.” He spoke calmly, striking the match and, much to his gratitude, only needing to use one to actually light his cigarette. “Don’t owe no one…” He began, pausing momentarily to take a puff of cancer that would probably wind up shortening his life-span by a few days. “… Don’t wanna owe no one. If I did, I’d be one’a those idiots who bet all their shit on that stock market crap only ta’ lose it all.”

Of course, given the others tone and his father’s business, he had a hunch that there was more to this guy than meets the eye; either a loan-shark, or a mobster. Hopefully, he doesn’t find out he too has a family mob; that would not make for a pleasant encounter.

When the other asked him his name, he paused once again, not sure if he should give a real name or a fake name. Eventually, he settled on his nickname, Locke. No harm in that, right? “Locke,” He said plainly. “The hell’s ya name.” He repeated back, less in a mocking tone and more in a playful one.

Ari settled back now, feeling less tense around this stranger than before. He was used to the standoffish people he met naturally, but this guy seemed...alright for the time being. One snappy comment, though, and Ari would rip his bowels out through his throat--a reverse disemboweling. Even still, it wasn't natural he'd find someone so laid back unless they were a drifter, a mobster, or one of those annoying beggars on the street. 

"Tch, you have no idea how much those idiots irk me. Ain't anyway we'd of gotten outta that stupid depression had it not been for that war. Bet'cha ten thousand grand in another sixty years, they'll be cryin' about another one! Hope I'm dead and gone before that stupid shit happens..." Taking a seat in the chair nearest the stranger, he crossed one leg over the other and allowed himself a long and necessary drag of his cigarette. 

Oh, if Ari had to spend a dime every time he heard someone utter that phrase, he'd be broke before an hour's time! Nobody was free of debt in this damn world... They just were waiting on the reason to get there and riding the tailcoats of financial stability while it lasted.

"Ya ain't givin' me ya last name? That's fine," he stated, blowing out a long trail of smoke that dissipated in the rain. "No skin off my damn nose, because I ain't got nothin' to hide from some stranger; the name's Ari Newlove; displeased to be at ya service, pal."

Lowering his arms to his side, he placed his hands on his hips and glared upward, still visibily annoyed about the water getting on him in the first place. Honestly, this guy should really watch where he’s shaking, because this suit cost him all of his weekly salary. If he had anything to say at the second, he’d be spewing out insults but he refrained when he was taken aback by the other’s comment.

His cigarette carefully held in his hand to avoid burning his clothing, he moved it back up without a glance and sucked in another heaping dose of cancer.

“A couple grand?” He asked, bewilderment spreading across his face. That scruffy dog man actually could afford a suit that expensive? “If it shrank on you, then I could wear it, but I ain’t lookin’ for hand-me-downs–unless some punk died in it; it’s the closest I get ta wearin’ his skin out in public.“

Despite the look the man was giving him, in his eyes, it seemed more like there was a small child trying look bigger than they were. After all, Locke had to be at least a good foot taller than the small fry beside him. He was a mobster for crying out loud, he shouldn’t be bothered by the other’s annoyance.

However, the sudden bewilderment did come as a surprise. Given the outfit the small man was wearing, he figured the idea of others wearing an expensive suit wouldn’t have been so shocking.

“Yeah, like, three grand I think? I dunno, my memory ain’t the best when it comes to shopping.” He admitted, adjusting his hat so it’d fit squarely ontop of his head rather than floating on his hair.

A slight smirk crossed itself onto his face when he listened to what the other had to say; at least, about his suit shrinking down. “Heh…” He spoke quietly, digging into his jacket’s pocket and pulling a cigarette from it’s packaging, quieting down at the other’s statement. Note to self, don’t piss this guy off.

“Say, you got a light I can use?” He asked. If he was going to get cancer, he’d at least want it from a brand he actually liked.

Rainy Days (Closed RP W/ Locke + Ari)

The mobster’s ears twitched slightly at the noisy city all around him. No matter where he seemed to turn, the roaring of car engines as they meander their way across coarse pavement, the rumbling of the train on the tracks sitting prettily above his head as the metal trellises creek at the sudden addition of wait, even the people going about their daily business all seemed to flood his sense of hearing. At first, it would seem like a huge nuisance…

Yet, oddly enough, it was a good sign; everything seemed to be returning to normal following the end of the Great Depression the previous year. And things could not be more exciting for Locke. Freshly turned nineteen (although he looked as if he had not aged a bit since his eighteenth birthday), he was more than ready to carry on with his father’s ‘business’. The Segreti Business wasn’t necessarily an honest business, to put it lightly, but it was a loyal one; one large, trusting family, that also happened to pay well. They rose to power during the Great Depression, and now they were ready to expand their territory across the city and mark their place in history.

But that wasn’t why Locke was out, no. He was simply out and about to explore where he’s called home for the past nineteen years of his life, while he had the chance. It was midday, so, of course, the cocky young man he was felt he had nothing to fear. So long as it wasn’t a night close to the full moon, he had no need to worry about someone finding out his little secret.

A slight rumble of thunder snapped Locke’s attention back to reality, followed by a cold drop of rain plummeting down on his shoulder. “Damn, I didn’t know it was gonna rain…” The young man bitterly mumbled as he quickly picked up a newspaper on a nearby stand. He might be wearing a hat, but the hat alone wasn’t good enough to protect the rest of his body as a sudden downpour began to attack. “Shit!” He gasped, just as surprised as most of the people around him. Evidently, they hadn’t expected rain either. Amidst the panic, he was quick to find a spot under a small awning, ducking beneath it to escape the rain. After taking a moment to recover, he tossed the soggy paper aside, taking the pinstripe hat off his well-kept, yet slightly shaggy hair and shaking it to get some of the excess water off of it. That’s when, out of the corner of his eye, he saw another person standing beneath the awning with him; a small looking young man, who’s attention went from the rain, to Locke himself. @singa-rp-blog

Today was a day that Ari had decided to spend on his own, the crisp air left a slight curl to his fringe that made even him have a dance to his step. That morning he’d woken up to the sounds of disputes as Godfather, Mr. Newlove, and Valente were arguing. Why they’d been arguing hadn’t intrigued Ari enough to ask, although he figured he knew anyway; Valente was still cheesed over about the fact he’d been tricked by that lowly punk in the alleyway. Had it been Ari’s job, he’d of given him two new holes for knee caps, but as Valente was on the job, he accepted his defeat with a raging drinking spree. Course, that led to him accidentally drinking a wine that Mr. Newlove had been waiting to use for his romantic dinner–a 300 dollar bottle to be exact. Which meant that once Valente and Mr. Newlove finally reached an agreement, Valente was to buy him a new bottle or else he’d be forced to give a massage to Grenda downstairs–a woman no man liked because of her excessive talks about monkeys she’d seen. Pausing underneath an awning, he retrieved a cigarette from his jacket pocket and pressed it to his lips, leaning his head down to light it; however, once he lit it, something else flashed in front of his eyes. With an annoyed sigh, he resigned to move back and avoid the splatter of rain as it began to drench the sidewalk. That was when he showed up, soaked to the pours in water, a soggy newspaper clenched in his hands. Ari paid him no mind at first, until he felt the splash of water slap against his cheek from the guy shaking himself next to him. Turning his gaze toward him, he sneered and pulled his cigarette out of his mouth, blowing a stream of smoke forward. “Ay! Ya a dog or somethin’? If I’d wanted to get wet, I’d of stepped out in that weather myself.”

Locke, in all honesty, hadn’t actually realized he’d gotten water anywhere close to the other man until his nose was suddenly assaulted by the sharp smell of cigarette smoke and his ears by an angry sounding rant.

Whoops.

“Sorry man, sorry!” The mobster began, turning turns the other with a cheeky, yet apologetic grin on his face. “Ain’t really my fault someone up there ‘cided to piss all over us.”

SHSL Macabre Classmate.

Born to an average and boring family, Yuuto managed to excel rather easily over their heads, making grades that could land him as valedictorian of the school of his choice; however, once he reached high school, his entire interest shifted away from the idea of passing with flying colors and more with eyeing only one color. 

Finding stories from the deep web, he began to dip down into the more dark subjects, managing to scar a few of his friends and force them to need help from their psychologist to undo what he’d done. This didn’t deter him from continuing down his path of dark destruction. When put on a committee meant to decorate for a festival, he sent everyone home and worked on it by himself, concocting a festival for Halloween six months before its time. Most parents were appalled, kids went home crying, and his peers began to fear his mind. 

Of course, he gained a bit of fame with his display and people began to praise him for being so out there in his moral standing. He quickly earned his title from peers and teachers alike, “The Ultimate Macabre Classmate” who could either be detrimental to those around him or a calculated mind into most subjects others wouldn’t dare look into.

Personality: Standoffish, rude, sarcastic, distant, and vague. More at 11.

Meet: Kouta Ishikawa; The Ultimate History Prodigy, age 10 (8 in memory wipe)

Managing to surpass all his peers and jump up several grades, it was no surprise that this young boy was considered a prodigy; however, his skills in history are what gained him his fame. Being only seven years old, he gave speeches on key points about how Adolf Hitler may have lived out his days and not have been found as the Russians claimed. Most children his age only knew that World War II was bad, but he took it to a new level with actual research to back his point up. 

How ever much fame he claimed, the young boy was always modest and thanked everyone he met. Although, the one person he thanked every step of the way was his idol, his sister, Maiyumi Ishikawa.
