hi, i'm nina (she/they, 30+), and welcome to my tumblr! i'm glad you found your way here 💕

this is my blog dedicated to my writing (fanfic or otherwise), fandom, and (every once in a while) my thoughts on the intersection of art and equity / social justice.

keep in mind! 🔞 this is an 18+ and dead dove-friendly space. i’m not afraid to explore darker themes and storylines in my fiction, so please heed any tags and content warnings.

fandom-wise, i currently write a lot of aot/snk (primarily eremika, but also ema and other ships) and tpw (primarily rinezha). but, at my core, i am a multishipper and multifandom. so i can—and will!—share thoughts on other books, animanga, shows, movies, etc. that pique my interest.

Missed Connections Writing Ideas!!

⭒ Two people keep showing up at the same coffee shop at different times. One arrives just as the other leaves, their cups still warm on adjacent tables.

⭒ A character finds a phone with a cracked screen in a taxi and reads through the messages, piecing together a life they'll never be part of.

⭒ Someone recognizes a stranger from their dreams, but the stranger doesn't recognize them back, and they're too afraid to say anything.

⭒ Two people match on a dating app, then immediately see each other in person and both pretend they didn't, each waiting for the other to make the first move that never comes.

⭒ A character keeps a Post-it note from a stranger that said "you look like you needed this today" with a badly drawn smiley face, and thinks about that person for years.

⭒ Someone finds their own lost item in a thrift store with a new owner's inscription inside it, realizing their trash became someone else's treasure.

⭒ Two people take the same route home every day and make eye contact through train windows, but one changes their schedule and the ritual ends without explanation.

⭒ A character orders the wrong drink and the barista corrects them to someone else's order, and for a moment they wonder what that person's life is like.

⭒ Someone leaves their book on a park bench with annotations in the margins, and another character finds it and falls in love with the handwriting.

⭒ Two people almost collide on the street, apologize, laugh, and then walk away, both turning back at the same moment to look, but missing each other again.

⭒ A character receives a voicemail clearly meant for someone else, hears the vulnerability in the stranger's voice, and can't bring themselves to delete it.

i had a lot of optimism that this amnesia plot wouldn’t be annoying and hoped that it would be a nice way to move their relationship forward, rather than be an annoying hurdle for The Plot, and this chapter maybe seems like it’s going in that direction…?? (both with momo and okarun, but also momo and everyone else as friends)

Ultimately, Dandadan to this point has been written so consistently well that by all accounts this plot twist will be handled well. Do I like it? No. Do I have to like it? Of course not. But if I just washed my hands clean of a piece of media I like every time it did something I didn't like I probably wouldn't be left with much media I like. And this is a recent lesson I've internalized, and Dandadan is of a much higher quality than the last thing I did wash my hands of, and I've only just gotten myself back into that! So I don't like this amnesia plot and I do want it wrapped up. But I'll give Tatsu the benefit of the doubt on execution even if things do get a little stupid

100% agree. one of the (many!) things i have absolutely enjoyed about dandadan is its tendency to take a trope, whether it be a character stereotype or narrative arc, and turn it on its head. the subversion is masterful!!!

plus: i can’t help but think this twist is just the Rom Com Of It All. like, momo and okarun have already “matured” enough to get to the point where they can/should fully confess their feelings, but The Plot needs to throw another wrench into things for shits and giggles.

regardless, i have just radically accepted whatever the fuck tatsu wants to throw our way. and i’m just enjoying the ride 🤗🤗
