Like I was gagged by that. And so was most of the theater!

It was so good. I cried during the Act 2 Epic (I think that's what it's called?). Truly seeing that AND Parachute live this weekend was too much.

I'm in New York, gonna see Hayley Williams tomorrow night! My QUEEN! I'm so lucky!

This city is nuts. Walking down the streets here in Midtown is like being a tiny little mouse in a maze. It's cool but a bit claustrophobic.

Tomorrow I'm gonna get out and explore a little more. Being here alone is intimidating but I'm determined to make the best of it. I might try and see if I can score cheap tickets to Hadestown too!! Here's hoping!

I think some people forget that some literature and some media is meant to be deeply uncomfortable and unsettling. It's meant to make you have a very visceral reaction to it. If you genuinely can't handle these stories then you are under no obligation to consume them but acting as if they have no purpose or as if people don't have a right to tell these stories, stories that often relate to the darkest or most disturbing parts of life, then you should do some introspection.

I fear that Mel expressing how much she wants Langdon to stay might make him feel more pressure than relief. Idk as much as I think they are adorable, Langdon's facial expressions in that scene mostly read as resignation. Like he hears her giving him props, he heard her say, "You never let me down", but all he feels is the fear that he will let her down in the future.

I could be totally wrong and I hope I am!! But a big theme this season has been expectations and whether or not you can handle them, or live up to them. And when you're feeling really broken and down on yourself, sometimes even the expectations of someone who only wants good things for you can be crushing!

Look at that scene between Robby and Javadi this ep! She's been grappling with the expectations of her parents, her mentors, even the other staff expecting her to be the genius one. And now Robby is pushing her past her limits. Can she handle it? Does she want to?

And Santos struggling to keep up with an ever growing workload and Al-Hashimi's veiled threats about repeating her R2 year. Poor woman is on the edge, lashing out at everyone who looks sideways at her. Is she handling it?

Dana trying to be the person everyone needs her to be, only to be completely shut down by Robby when she takes matters into her own hands for Emma's safety? Did she live up to her own expectations for herself, or up to Robby's?

Samira not even knowing what comes next from her. Robby seems to expect her to fail. Her expectations about her future with her mother dashed. Unreal levels of pressure.

Many such cases! Everyone on this show needs therapy lol

So former president Obama was interviewed by some podcaster recently, and they had a very interesting conversation that covered a lot of topics concerning the future of the left of center in the US, very nuanced and full of interesting, practical ideas for improving candidate selection and discourse amongst the left and liberals.

Then at the end the interviewer asked him a few softball questions including "are aliens real?" And obama gave the typical "yes because statistical probability, but I haven't seen any evidence or proof".

And i opened reddit this morning and are they discussing the interesting political ideas put forth? Having debate about it? No, none of that. They're freaking out because "aliens real! Obama confirmed it!!!! How could the interviewer not ask follow up questions? ?? He dumb?"

The internet is not a serious place.
