It is that time of year again when winter moves out and springs brings new budding tries and plants which marks the beginning of seasonal allergies or hay fever. Over 24 million American’s were diagnosed with hay fever last year and experts expect these numbers to continue to grow annually. Hay fever is seasonal rhinitis caused by pollen from trees. Rhinitis is an allergic reaction to the pollen causing sneezing, itchy eyes, post-nasal drip, nasal congestion, and sinus infections. Recent research has proved that a large portion of sinus infections are preceded by allergic symptoms such as those caused by hay fever. This is caused by mucus remaining in the sinuses without proper irrigation and swelling of the sinuses caused by the allergies. The truth about sinus products: Part 1 - The Centers for Disease Control reports that over 30 million Americans suffer from sinus ailments annually. With sinus season, allergy season and cold and flu season just around the corner it is important to understand what the products that many people use to treat their sinuses are and what they do. Good bacteria vs bad bacteria in sinus infections.

Study shows that allergic rhinitis is linked to insomnia

They reported sleeping fewer hours, taking longer to fall asleep and, not surprisingly, daytime sleepiness too. In all, 35.8 per cent of those with allergic rhinitis reported insomnia, compared to 16 per cent of controls. The worse the allergic rhinitis was, the more severe the insomnia. The researchers suggest that doctors should ask their patients with allergic rhinitis about their sleep. Treatment of the rhinitis may improve quality of life by treating associated insomnia as well."
