“I was thinking more that she is foolish and irritating, but it also just so happens that you are a little blonde girl,” Sinthea said, with a slight shrug. “I hardly see how I am bothering you, so what does it matter if I am here at night?”

“Tour of what?” Sinthea asked, glancing around with disinterest at the building. “Your glorified ant hill?” She shook his hand with a bored expression still on her face. “Sintha Shmidt. I am perfectly well, thank you.”

“You good over here, sweetie?” The waitress questioned before giving Teth-Adam a pat on the shoulder. The former prince shifted his position before looking at the hand and then the waitress. “I do not like to be touched. Remove your hand.” He stated firmly, yet calmly and watched the waitress quietly remove her hand. “I do not require anything else. Thank you.” He added vocally and sighed as she walked away. 

A few years in this town and still he had not come to terms with a mortal life. The urge to speak the word was always there; the word itself always on his tongue ready to slip out. He knew, however, that invoking the power was like setting off a literal beacon for the local ‘police force’–if he could even bring himself to respect them enough to call them that. His gaze was once more brought up from an order of fried potato spears–’French fries’ he’d learned they were called–as another person approached him. “I still do not comprehend the incessant desire for people to refer to fried potatoes as ‘French’.” He remarked as he chewed on a fry. “Above all else, a potato would be Irish if it had such an ethnicity.” The concept of different foods and their naming conventions was one that took getting used to. As Black Adam, Teth-Adam had never had to worry about hunger or thirst. 

Sinthea slid her eyes over to him, arching an eyebrow. “If you have enough time to consider such banalities, let me just say that you are an extraordinarily fortunate man,” she said, sliding into the seat at the booth nearby. “Please, do let me know if you ever solve such a vital mystery as the etymology of the phrase ‘French fry’.”

“I probably am,” Conner said, throwing the woman a cold, forced smile. He didn’t have time to engage himself in meaningless conversations with a woman who clearly do not like him. The cafe was nearly empty, and the table he was in was far from anyone’s hearing distance. At least that’s what he thought until the woman piped in.

Conner looked around, wondering if there were others who felt the same way as she did and was relieved to see that it was only her nearby.

“Now, if you’re done with your monologue, your Highness, I would like to leave now,” he said, unable to hold back on the sarcasm. “I mean, if that’s alright with you, of course.”

He gave her a mocking bow and turned around to finish gathering his things, showing her just how much interest he had on what else she had to say.

Sinthea giggled as his attempt at cleverness. “No one is stopping you, little boy,” she said. “Unless you need Grams to come hold your hand while you cross the street.” She laughed mockingly at his bow, rolling her eyes. She picked up her phone, beginning to scroll idly through emails. “Goodbye, lästiges kind. I hope your petty problems with your flea-ridden mongrel are solved soon.”

“He fought for what he believed in. And in any case, does that mean I should not seek vengeance for his death? Because he was perceived by some as a ‘bad guy’, that means it is alright for Captain America to have caused his death? And speaking of reputations -- is yours crystal clear? Have you done nothing in your life that may cause others to refer to you as a ‘bad guy’?”

“I wanted to see you, actually.” Sinthea smiled coolly. “You sound familiar.” Of course, she knew who the girl was. Blood left behind at Sin’s apartment, not to mention...less than legal access to a lab, had helped her track the girl down.

 the blond girl did not expect anyone to truly come her, or even be here. so once she heard the voice of someone coming closer she lifter her head slightly to get a better look. looking at the person who came she asked “ ––– is there a reason why you are lurking around the streets this late?” 

Sinthea raised an eyebrow at the girl. “Because I want to,” she said. “And why are you out and about so late, Cindy Lou? Is it not past your bed time?”

Conner looked up to see someone standing next to him, unabashedly listening on his conversation.

“Do you mind?” he asked, unable to keep the annoyance from his tone. He turned his phone off and stood up as well, shaking his head and muttering under his breath about how some people should do something else better with their time.

It wasn’t as if he was talking loudly anyway. Or disturbing anyone within hearing distance. As a matter of fact, he was careful to keep his voice low. It wouldn’t bode well for him—or for his family, for that matter—if someone from ARGUS overheard his talk.

He stood up and gathered his things. He’d be having his test in a couple of hours, but there was still a chapter left unread.

Sinthea arched an eyebrow. “Do you?” she asked. “It is hardly my fault if the clucking fowl who raised you did not teach you proper manners. You chose to hold your conversation in a public space, when you just as easily could have stepped outside.” She rolled her eyes as he stood to gather his things. “You really are a very rude little boy.”

     “It’s called Firecracker, it’s this shops top flavor.” Cassie explained with a light smile.  “If you don’t like it I could buy you a different flavor.” She added with a slight nod of the head.  “And don’t mention it, you just looked like you needed a pick me up.”

“Firecracker?” Sinthea repeated, slightly dubious. As a child, of course, she hadn’t had the opportunity to enjoy many treats, and so as an adult, she didn’t have a particular familiarity with them. When she did have the rare chance to have ice cream, it was always vanilla. Susan Scarbo, who had been soft enough to let Sin live in the first place, had occasionally also been moved to allow the girl some treats. She gave a little shrug. Her plan with Damian hadn’t yielded the precise fruit she wanted, but at least she’d gotten under the Captain’s skin. “I suppose so,” she said. “My name is Sinthea.”

Steve: Stop it - stop, Sinthea. It's me you want, not him. Stop this, or I'll make you stop.

Sinthea: [laughs] Oh, you will? Perhaps you will make /me/ stop, although I sincerely doubt it. But us? Hydra? You know as well as I do that you will always lose in the end, because we will keep coming back.

Steve: [He stops dead at her words, his free hand curling into a fist.] This is too far, Sinthea. Even for you, this is low, and god knows you've done some terrible things but this? He's a CHILD, what the hell is wrong with you?!

Sinthea: [giggles in delight at his reaction] I thought he might have some information that I needed. He has not been very talkative, but there is time.
