Bond watched her quietly for a moment before turning his attention to his hotel roomâs dresser against the far wall where his card key, his watch, and his pocket fillers were neatly displayed. To say that he was indifferent about all of this wouldâve been putting it lightly. While most would take solace in being around someone who felt the same, he was just as easily indifferent about his partner in all of this despite their agreeable feelings on the matter.
âPerhaps The Indifferent,â he said plainly, ignoring her mention of lighthearted conversation. There was no need to talk about that. He tried to do her the service of not making her try to put him at ease or to be lighthearted when it was out of character for her. Honesty was far more interesting. âOr The Unimpressed? Both seem to have a nice ring to it.â He stamped his words by offering her a cool smile before turning back to the dresser.
Bond was, to put it mildly, something of an impossible man. Heâd been described as such by numerous people over the years. The former M in particular made a habit of pointing it out. Subtly, she also made it plain that he was her favorite and that he should act accordingly. He tried, of course, but it wasnât until the very end that he realized that he couldâve done better. Of all the women that had died in his arms, her death had the most impact.
Siobhan furrowed her eyebrows at the display of decadence. Unlike Bond, she was far more modest and conservative when it came to her affinities. There was no use for flashy in the field; she preferred to blend in rather than stick out like a sore thumb with glamorous clothing. But she didn't say anything. It was no use to comment on something that would put more tension into the room, at least it hasn't turned into the metaphorical elephant in the room.Â
She gave a private smirk at the comment. This side of Bond she could get used to. "The Unimpressed. Certainly a dig at M that I can enjoy." Siobhan quickly jotted down the name in a messy scrawl on the notepad, followed by both their names. She folded it into a paper plane, tucking it into her gun holster next to the .38 S&W. She was going to throw it at M later in the evening, an immature way of annoying the man. To say that she had a problem with authority was putting it lightly.Â
Siobhan tilted her head as Bond went quiet. Was he always this silent? But the quiet didn't unnerve her, perhaps that was something they both had common. This odd way of almost pausing the present to go back into the past for a few private moments. Siobhan didn't say anything to jolt Bond out of his trance, and instead leaned back slightly to close her eyes.Â
