This story might sound vaguely familiar to some of you, maybe not. So this story starts on the Planet Namek, every species of people in the known universe is a descendant of the Planet Namek. Namekians explored the universe and settle on other planets where some of their physical characteristics changed over time, due to sheer evolutions. Tens of thousands of years later, after people had settled on their perspective planets, the Saiyans from the Planet Vegeta, were conquerors they went to different planets to take them over. The Saiyans however did have their problems and some of them were not happy with their ruler, Frieza. So some Saiyans decided to move away from the planet to a new place they could call their own. They happened upon the Planet Earth, which was already inhabited by Earthlings but the Saiyans didn’t care. They started out by befriending the Earthlings, learning their ways of life and growing together. The Earthlings and the Saiyans were to very different groups of people, The Earthlings lived off of their land, in tune with nature where they hunted for the food they needed and gathered fruits and vegetables that they needed to survive. The Saiyans, from a different part of the universe, had different rules to how they lived. The Saiyans acquired property to call their own and worked the land (or had someone else work the land for them). The Saiyans, who were still abiding by the Frieza’s rule, were tired of paying Frieza for no reason so they revolted and had a war. Inevitably the Earth-Saiyans won, now the Earth Saiyans felt like the Earth belonged to them and they started to thrive. Since the Saiyans were now ruler free they came together to set rules to live by and the ones who constructed these rules were called the Kai’s. With newly acquired land, the Earth-Saiyans realized they needed help to farm this land, so they went to the only other place they knew were they could find people, Namek. The Saiyans had always used Nameks as slaves, but these new Earth-saiyans had a different way of doing things. The rulers of the planet Namek were always ok with slavery, some Namekians even enslaved by other Namekians and most of the Namekian slaves were sold to the Earth-Saiyans because it was a very common practice. The Earth- Saiyans, still growing a flourishing , started to take land from the original Earthlings. The Kai’s said that it was their “Destiny” to move throughout the planet and take all of its riches. Of course the Earthlings put up a fight but they were out manned and out gunned. So the Earthlings had two choices to assimilate and become more like the Eath-saiyans or moved to the corners of the Earth where the Saiyans had not yet colonized. But the Saiyans were cruel people and they were not ok with just letting the Earthlings leave in peace they also purposefully gave them diseases that the Earthlings had not yet built immunity too as they left to insure that they would remain weak. Now with the Earthlings out of the way, the Saiyans are now importing Namekian slaves at a very high rate. But as I told you before the Saiyans are a cruel race, they’re not content with just enslaving the Namekians and making them work, the saiyans beat, rape and even murder the Namekians to prove their dominance. The Saiyans tell the Namekians what gods they can or cannot worship, they make the strongest breed to hopefully make more strong Namekians that can become slaves, in some cases they take a Namekian and chop it up then sell the parts. But the Saiyans don’t care, why should they on Earth a Namekian doesn’t even count a real person, just for tax purposes the Saiyans count the Namekians as 3/5th of a person. Even if a namekian tried to escape the sayains created the Ginyu Force to recover the Namekians or even capture free Namekians and sell them in to slavery. This is the darkest time for Namekians in the history of the universe but eventually the Kai’s realized that this is absurd and deemed slavery to be illegal. Which caused a lot of tension between the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere, The Southern Hemisphere thrived off of the work that the Namekians did on the land where as the Northern Hemisphere was more industrialized because of the cold winters that it endured which led to a lack of crops in that season. Eventually another war broke out between the northern and the southern hemisheres between the saiyans and they enlisted Namekians to fight on both sides. The Norther Hemisphere ended up winning (THANK GOD) and therefore slavery of the Namekians was abolished. Most people would assume that the couple hundreds of years of enslaving the Namekians and thriving off of their hard work would be enough for the Saiyans, but that’s not the case for the next couple hundred years or so the Namekians try to get some of the same rights as the Saiyans who continually try to keep them down, we’ll call this speciesism. Some Namekians even tried to return home, but due to hoaxes, lies and fraudulent activities this efforts were to no avail. Now generations removed from their home planet, the Namekians were for lack of a better word damned. So the Namekians did what they could to survive, which was ridiculously difficult to do between the Saiyans not allowing them to be educated up to this point, not being able to read or write, and they were not allowed to attend Saiyan schools and there weren’t any Namekian schools to this point, and on top of that some Saiyans and the Ginyu Force for some reason felt like they had to add insult to injury and beat and kill Namekians when they felt like it because there were no laws to prevent such actions. Through adversity some of the Namekians found a way to get educated and educate other Namekians, as they tried to get general rights. At one point in history the Namekians were thriving in a part of the world where they had built their own shops and created a system where they were using their own money to help each other out, since they weren’t allowed to shop where Saiyans shopped or do pretty much anything that the Saiyans did. But some Saiyans didn’t like this and they started rioting. The Namekians best doctor at the time, Dende, was shot and killed and building were destroyed and were never the same. By this time there are some Namekians had some leaders who were doing their best to gain equality, Kami and Piccolo were the most famous. Piccolo and Kami had the same vision but different views of reaching it, Kami was an advocate for non-violence and Piccolo was more like “by any means necessary”. Long story short they were both murdered, because anyone who stands up for Namekians is considered to be a problem. The Kai’s were found guilty of killing Kami and yet the world news never reported it and many Saiyans and Namekians alike don’t know that this is happened. Namekians have slowly but surely been receiving their basic rights as a species but there are definitely hindrances to this process. The biggest hinderance is systematic speciesism. Basically certain Namekians have to live in certain places because they cannot get the loans necessary to get the housing that they truly need. Because of where these Namekians live, their children have to go to certain schools to get educations. These schools are usually of poorer quality, therefore the namekian children are far less likely to go to college unless they play a sport. Since most of them don’t go to college the chances of them getting a high paying job is lower, therefore they cannot get a good loan and the cycle starts over. The Ginyu Force patrols these parts more heavily than any other parts of the world because a Namekian is also more likely to commit a crime since they have insufficient education. This leads to another one of the biggest hinderances to the advancement of Namekians, the prison industrial complex. Basically if a Saiyan and a Namekian commit the same crime, the Namekian is more like to incarcerated and for longer if convicted. This is helpful to the Kai’s because they get the same free/cheap labor that they use to get back when they enslaved Namekians. The Kai’s also institute laws that allow the Ginyu force to find Namekians to be more suspicious eventhough Namekians and Saiyans are just as likely to do pretty much that same things. Not all the guys on the Ginyu Force are bad but even they are taught to be more cautious around Namekians which puts them on high alert which leads to escalated situations. And since the World News only reports on what it deems worthy, everybody sees Ginyu brutality which bring Namekians to fear. When any one has fear they have to response, FIGHT or FLIGHT, so when a Namekian feels the threat of the Ginyu Force they will probably run or fend for their life. This is a terrible situation that they live in but out of this whole story you can take away a few things:
