We had a great question come in about forgiveness which I think is something many of us struggle with. The OP did not send it as anon though and I tend to fret about people’s privacy so I’m reposting it here:

Hi awesome educators! I have a question a out forgiveness: My Daddy and I had a recent very bad incident where we both did some pretty hardcore f-ing up. (He broke a Little promise and I had a world class tantrum) We had a constructive Meta talk (eventually) and an effective punishment. While D/s requires forgiving each other and moving on after, I am struggling a lot with self forgiveness. I don’t know how to get past the shame, guilt and embarrassment I feel for how I treated Daddy :(

You mention that an effective punishment was issued but didn’t specifically mention that he said the words “you are forgiven.” If he didn’t, this may be the root of your insecurity as many of us need to hear the words. Either way, if your daddy forgave you (and, I’m assuming, you forgave him), but you are choosing to ignore that forgiveness then you are actively taking away his control. This is one of the most difficult things about D/s - we talk about giving control to our D’s but we tend to think of it in terms of orgasms and panties and “can I have a donut for breakfast.” But it’s the inner control freak that we all harbor that is the most difficult to give up. Understand that this is natural - we aren’t automatically model submissives out of the box and it takes a while to peel back those layers. I would suggest talking through this with your daddy again and letting him know that you are still struggling. Having this information will allow him to take the corrective action needed - he may give you a firmer instruction to let it go, or he may punish you again for choosing to ignore the forgiveness he already provided. Either way, he needs to know about this. And when he says “all is forgiven,” remind yourself every day that you are to let it go because that’s what your daddy wants. -asubmissiveview

SD, I sincerely agree with the original anon poster, as your blog has made me a better Dom for my sub.
