“Heavy, we are not going to die!”
Pretty sure the first person Medic told about the good news was Heavy
with an slightly awkwardly looking Engie standing next to them
There’s a slight bit of evidence for this. We see Medic tell Demo, Soldier, and Spy onscreen, then it cuts to Pauling and Scout being attacked by the bread monster. In a very short amount of time, Medic, Heavy, and Pyro arrive on the scene and Medic even has an uber ready to go. So there probably wasn’t enough time for Medic to explain the whole situation between those moments. After they defeat the monster, Medic corrects Soldier that they aren’t going to live forever. The camera focuses on Medic’s face when he says “we’re not filled with tumors” so you can’t see Heavy’s reaction, even though he’s standing right next to Medic. But the next thing we do see is Scout’s reaction to the news, coupled with audible relief, which we don’t hear from Heavy. Medic also doesn’t deem it necessary to explain to Heavy, Scout, Sniper, or Pyro the same things he told Spy, Soldier, and Demo once they’re all in a room together. Obviously, this a writing convention where you don’t want to repeat information the audience already knows. But the fact that no one asks for further details or comments on the revelation aside from Scout, the only one we know didn’t already know, indicates that everyone else did know already, and therefore felt no need to remark upon it.
Did I just stay up until 4am because inspiration struck? Yes. Is it @emeraldspiral ‘s fault again for coming up with such excellent analysis? Also yes.

Bread’s Dead, We’ll Live.
I know you will be sad, Mama, but I do not want you to be sad for very long. The world is very beautiful. I have had the chance to see much of it, I have contributed to science and art, I have learned what it means to be happy. I hope after I am gone that you will find happiness again, too.
Misha stared down at the page filled with his neat handwriting, at the ticking timepiece on his wrist. He’s had letters prepared for years, of course, ever since he’d taken his first mercenary job and had to face the idea that he might not come home. But knowing how much time he had left, he hadn’t been able to resist pouring his heart out in one last missive. Mama, Yana, Zhanna, Bronislava… he would never see them again. Would they even receive his last letter?
