Blaine laughed softly and grinned up at the Dominant, playing with his fingers as he listened to him speaking. “Less technological too, I’m sure. I’m just imagining those big, bulky cellphones. I don’t think it’s so elite anymore, perhaps, but some really nice people are here on scholarships,” He nodded, his mind immediately going to Sam, the Flanagans. “But, yes Sir. The rules and classes mostly. I kept my head down for about a month and a half, just to be on the safe side.”

“Definitely less technological. We had to order submissives around to deliver messages back then. Alina has shown me the little forum you guys have now, it seems very handy. Especially for administration,” Elijah nodded at Blaine, making a face for a moment. “I’m sure your father has made you aware that as nice as they can be, they rarely make for good connections. Use your time wisely, buddy...” he couldn’t help the small advice. The same advice he would give to Alina constantly - use your time wisely. “That’s good strategy. And what did that month teach you?”

He hated the fact he was running late. His mom always told him there was no such thing, but Ezekiel should have known better, rushing around like a headless chicken to meet her for a late lunch she had planned, shirt misbuttoned and hair askew. Any other time, the idea of leaving his room looking any less than presentable would have mortified him into petrification, but today was not that day. But he should have watched where he was going, swearing under his breath as his shoulder sharply clocked the older man on campus. Whether it was a teacher, or an alumni, the Switch now knew he was fucked. “Oh, I’m sorry. I’m just…late to meet my mom,” He stammered, his dad’s head in the back of his head telling him excuses weren’t good enough. “I’m sorry.”

Elijah had been walking around campus, on his way to pick up his daughter for lunch, when a young man ran into him. He thought he would be used to being hit by hard to control teenagers or unidentifiable objects because of Alina - but that was the lie he told himself as she grew up. He took a step back, hand immediately on his waist as he looked at whoever it was that was in front of him, babbling apologies and looking like they had hurt their own mother. “If you ask me, you look like you’re running from someone’s room, young man. Not late to meet your mom. I’d do those buttons properly if I were you. And make sure to watch where you’re going. You’re lucky I finished my coffee a few steps ago,” he said, pointing at the empty cup.

That’s wonderful to hear - I’ve heard nothing but good things about the golf course although I’ve never been on it myself. A couple of things particularly I think - how to properly explain the idea to a potential partner, for one. And the best ways to show a submissive they’re appreciated and cared for in a non-romantic setting.

I’m not the biggest golf fan - tennis is obviously my pick, but it is a great way to catch up with friends. And the course here is still great, you should see it for yourself when you’ve got the time. It can be very relaxing. We’ll go over those topics during the workshop and a few more. From explaining the idea, to keeping things interesting long-term. One thing I always say - it’s important to have a detailed and well-understood set of rules. That will always make your life easier.

Hi Sir, welcome back to Devereux. This forum is definitely the best way to chat, I guess it wasn’t really thing back in your day though, huh? I’m Whitney Cohen-Chang, not a legacy or anything, but I do know your daughter from class, and I’ve definitely enjoyed the couple times I’ve spent time with her.

It wasn’t. We did find our ways to communicate though. That was never really an issue for any of us. My daughter tends to prioritize her fun, I believe she might be doing the same here - so that comes to no surprise. Are you here on a scholarship then Whitney? Which academy did your parents attend?

I think we might have met just once in passing at an event pretty similar to this one actually. But you’ll remember my brother Arthur Baxter though.. I’m pretty sure you two were classmates.

We might. Events like this are definitely not news for me. I do recall the name. How has he been? It’s definitely been a while since we used to go here for class, and not for any sort of alumni reunion.

Thank you, Ms Harper. It’s great to be back. Nothing but great memories keep popping up. I am, had a nice time at the golf course and first class still fails in letting me down. Are there any aspects of non-romantic claims you’re more interested in than others?

Blaine crossed his arms, glancing up at Elijah as he spoke. “Yeah, maybe. I have a few friends who might be able to help,” He commented thoughtfully, then began watching his dad once more as he moved on. “Is the Island all you remember it to be, Sir? It was a lot when I first got here. Overwhelming, even.”

Elijah nodded, knowing better than to offer his own daughter’s help in the matter. Alina was a worse golf player than he is. “It has... changed,” he said, looking from the men playing right in front of them down to Blaine next to him. “The town was surely something else when Emma and I used to go here. And the Academy wasn’t so keen to give back to the community with scholarships and such. It was an elite finishing school. I do hope we can still call it now. What was so overwhelming about it, buddy? Classes? Rules?”

According to my loving daughter Alina, this forum is the best way to get in touch with everyone on campus. I’d like to start by saying that I’m very pleased to see that the interest in non-romantic claims has not died down with time - by the looks of this sign up sheet. And also... Elijah Montgomery. for those who haven’t had the pleasure to meet me yet.

Elijah had not been bothering with the game at all. He had taken phone calls, he had texted, he had had a few drinks. Golf was not something he was hugely interested in, surprisingly - or not, maybe it was just Emma’s influence. But he did nothing when Blaine, Alina’s friend since childhood, came walking towards him looking like a kicked puppy. “Well, buddy. Maybe next time invest in some actual classes. I doubt there’s much you can learn from a sport from internet videos. You have a whole field near your school, use it to your advantage.”
