As someone whos taken/taking AP Psychology and Sociology in high school, I love replaying the game and seeing the movie from the theory and AU perspective that Eden was/is a cult of sorts-

They all worshipped a certain thing, and had formed their own separate 'religion' of sorts around that said thing [the last tree] and while TECHNICALLY you don't need to consider that 'cult behavior' its what they DO to worship said god like object- giving themselves up 'willingly' for the cause. Also just the fact they were trained to end humanity, and have unwavering loyalty, not questioning anything, as the Eden leaders believed they should be wiped out completely, which alot of cults have been known to do.

I think its pretty intriguing
