Sirius smiled as he saw Remus hesitate before taking a drink, then felt half disappointed when he gave no reaction. “I dont need help staying out of trouble, rather, I just need persuaded not to start it.” When Remus leaned across the table, Sirius moved closer as well. He smiled, “That’s great Moony! I swear, we are near opposites. But I agree with you in the fact that I’m very grateful to have good friends by my side.” He raised his glass to his lips, “Especially you.” Then took another drink, covering his face with the glass. Perhaps his friend wouldn’t recognize the blush that he had performed earlier.

Remus noticed Sirius’ disappointed reaction and took another sip, wrinkling his nose for his friend’s benefit. “Happy now?” He asked, raising his eyebrows. “It really isn’t so terrible. It just isn’t… great.” He took one final sip before turning his attention back to the boy so obviously demanding it. “We are definitely opposites.” He agreed. “There are very nearly two Sirius Blacks in this world, and James still has a little more sense that you. If you were clones of each other the world would be doomed. We definitely don’t need a third in myself so be happy I’m here to save you when you let things get out of control.” He felt his heart warm when Sirius elaborated, emphasising how much his friendship meant. “I love you too, idiot. I honestly don’t know where I would be without you… or where Moony would be without Padfoot.”

A small grin tugged at the corners of his mouth when Remus wrinkled his nose. "Satisfied" he agreed. Sirius laughed along with Remus' words, "James has more sense than me? I'm not that bad. Most of the time." He took another drink and beamed at Remus, "You should try trading spots with us, Moony. Imagine how much fun you'll have, and that will force me to be responsible for once." Sirius easily finished off his drink and stood, "I'm glad I can be there for you my friend. If you werent here I'd probably be dead or something. Definitely not stealing us more drinks." He allowed a quick smirk as he turned towards the bar once more.

The question was valid - and to be fair, Regulus, with a few drinks in him and some encouragement by someone he knew better than to listen to when she got going, had followed him to this.. whatever it was. But - when his brother turned, Regulus wasn’t smiling back. No, he was angry, furious, even,  and he looked every inch of it from where he stopped, a few feet back at the edge of the shadows. “I was,’ he answered, though that much was already obvious. “Got a few bones to pick with you, as it happens, and you know…I’ve never really liked your style - airing dirty laundry in public, making a scene wherever you go. I thought I’d give you the chance to salvage some of your dignity, if you have any left.” He raised an eyebrow, the challenge all over his face, but his anger ran deeper than simple petty nastiness between former brothers, no, his was one he’d been holding in for days, and Regulus, this new Regulus he’d found within this year…this Regulus had had enough of being disregarded by someone he’d once looked up to. “Who the fuck do you think you are?! You’re nobody, Sirius. Nobody! You had no right to be there! You chose that! You decided not to be a part of this family, and that means you don’t get to come to the family gala, either. You don’t get to come in, and make a scene, and make us look bad anymore. You don’t get to come in and ruin my night, ruin me bringing Sybill home to meet Ma, just because you’re bored and you want a little excitement. But fuck me, right? Fuck me just trying to live my life honestly, and do what I’m supposed to, yeah? Fuck me, fuck my birthday, fuck my night, fuck my whole racist, nasty family, right? Right? That’s how you operate, isn’t it? Well then why the fuck won’t you stay away? Got any answers for me? Or are you just gonna disappear like you always do?”

He laughed. In fact, he began to find it difficult to stop laughing. Sirius leaned back against the stone wall rising high behind him. "Oh brother, it's either you are overreacting in this drunken state of yours or you simply dont understand." He shrugged, "It could simply be both." He slowly approached his younger brother, "My values differ from those of your family. So, for my whole life, they targeted and threatened me. It is clear to you that I did pick up on the mischievousness that runs through the family, but that's a way I feel connected and reminded of where I come from and who I am. Your family created this 'nobody', and they haven't failed at making another." He glared into Regulus' eyes and stopped a few paces in front of him. "But this 'nobody' has friends, this 'nobody' has a real family. I dont need to show up to family events to embarrass you, you do that yourselves, I just assist in bringing it to the light. I never targeted you intentionally brother, but you only moved against me and increased my injuries in return. Want to know why I dont leave? I want to get along with my biological family! I want to be with my brother! I want them to understand, to at least try to see where I'm coming from. To at least listen to me for once. If you wish for me to disappear, that can easily be done. But why should I waste my time arguing with you?"

It seemed like even emma couldn’t pretend that everything was fine tonight. she wanted to get as fucked up as possible and try to have fun, but the task was proving itself to be way harder than it seemed. the girl just needed to get away for a bit, collect her thoughts and most importantly, have a drink on her own, far from the crowd where she didn’t have to laugh, smile and upkeep her usual demeanor. the slytherin had been walking around the outskirts of hogsmeade, lost in thoughts with the occassional interruption by bringing a flask full of whiskey by her lips. it was a sudden voice that brought her back to reality & emma finally took in her surroundings – seemed like she wasn’t even paying to attention to where she was going. “ ah, dammit. ya caught me. i’m just but one of your many, many stalkers, black. “ emma joked, a small smile creeping up her red lips. “ wondering, what exactly is sirius black doing away from all the fun? “ 

He allowed himself to relax slightly as he recognized the Slytherin. He noticed the flask in her hand and noted the little surprise she took from his voice. "I'm shocked that more stalkers didnt arrive with you," he said with a small smile aligning with hers, "But I'm not complaining. Seems like I still get to have fun out here." Sirius took a couple steps in her direction and sighed, "I guess since you are making it so obvious I should ask you the question you asked me. What're you doing out here?"

He shook his head with a quiet laugh. “I wasn’t alone.” He said. “Well, I arrived alone but only because I was so sure I would know everybody here.” He took a hesitant sip of his drink, pleased to find it was only half as bad as Sirius was making out. “Sirius-” He felt a blush creep to his cheeks at the wink and made a show of taking another drink. “You and I both know you’re the one who needs help staying out of trouble.” He carefully set down his glass with a smile, leaning across the table to lower his voice. “It’s just been- it’s been a good year. Mum and Dad were happy, the next moon is just far enough away to let me enjoy the holidays, and I’m surrounded by people like you, Padfoot. People I’m very lucky to have in my life. What isn’t there to be happy about?”

“Looks like I broke my ‘good’ streak” Sirius smirked. He had managed to find an empty table and sat down the drinks with success. “Dont give me that look, I was doing them a favor. You know, teaching them to watch over their belongings.” He raised the glass to his lips and took a sip, quickly spitting it out. “That’s disgusting! No wonder they were so easy to take!”, he said with some disappointment. Sirius wiped his mouth and smiled at his friend across the table. He seemed to be in a rather cheerful mood, instantly lighting up the dark and crowded room. Sirius let out a little laugh, “I guess that’s what I get.”

“What good streak?” Remus demanded, rolling his eyes. “You’re ridiculous.” He followed his friend to a nearby table, dropping down into the seat opposite him. “More like teaching them to be wary of you.” He teased, pulling his glass towards himself, laughing when Sirius took a hesitant sip and spat it right back into his own glass. “We both know you care more about getting drunk than the taste of the alcohol, Padfoot. I believe in you.”

He blankly stared at Remus for a moment, then shrugged. "True" He picked up his drink and took a good swig from the glass. "What were you doing here by yourself? You ought to have someone looking out for you, keep you out of trouble," He winked. Sirius set down his drink and smiled across the table at his old friend, "Enlighten me, what's got you in such a good mood?"

Open starter

Sirius was getting tired of the little festival. He hadn't spotted any of his friends and it was a lot more fun to cause trouble with them by his side. He started to walk down a side street of Hogsmeade that eventually turned to dirt, then to snow crunching under his feet. He continued to explore the outskirts of Hogsmeade with curiosity until he found a large structure of stone, blanketed with snow. Sirius took a step back and eyed the large and deep cave, casting its long shadows. "That's a pretty good hiding place, " he thought. He was contemplating shifting into his animagus form to climb up to the cave when he heard footsteps behind him. He swiftly turned around and smiled, "Were you following me?"

He laughed, “I wouldn’t say five minutes. Better round it to three. That’s still a pretty good achievement if you ask me.” Sirius returned his gaze, relieved to have found someone he could trust within the swarm of people surrounding the place. “But dont worry, nothing to bad, you might be rubbing off on me.” He looked over on the counter as the bartender set out two drinks. Sirius swiftly took them and walked off, nodding at Remus to follow.

“Three sounds far more likely.” Remus admitted, laughing affectionately. “But yes, Padfoot. For you, that is a rather incredible achievement.” He teased, watching in both awe and disapproval when Sirius stole them two drinks, making the theft look easy and casual in comparison to his own awkward tactics. Clearly he hadn’t brought his conscience to the party, though it saved him the guilt and trouble of trying to find his own alcohol. He was already tipsy, and he was self aware enough to realise that, but one more wouldn’t hurt. “Hey- wait-” He called, hurrying after his friend the moment he saw him leaving. “A little warning might have been nice.”

Looking up at Eurydice he sighed, “Why is it we always talk when I’m stuck in my head?” He laughed, “I’m surprised you still like me.” Sirius’ face hardened then turned into more laughter, “Let’s just say it was enough to push my family over the edge, and I call that success!” The server arrived and he cut off his conversation with Eurydice, instantly flirting with the waitress. He was hoping to get some free drinks, for he had given a good some of money to the street performer from earlier.

At Sirius’ antics towards the server, she rolled her eyes. “I’ve been asking myself the same question for five years.” The statement came out in a half tease, half-serious tone. “But I think it’s the fact that you seem to find to take light in every situation. Seeing as how you’re still your flirty old self.” She said whilst gesturing to the waitress to prove her point. “I’m guessing that despite whatever happened down at that ball, you keeping your true essence means you’re fine.”

Sirius smiled, "That might just be the problem, my friend. I'm not worried at all!" The server dropped off his firewhisky and said she'd return in a minute with Eurydice's. He picked it up and took a sip, "Running away actually sounds like a good idea. But I feel like I should be more concerned." He shrugged and took another swig as the waitress dropped off Eurydice's drink. "Enough with my problems though. How's your chaos?"

Sirius had just walked through the doors of the Leaky Couldron with another friend of his. Once their conversation reached a close, he looked over to the bar and saw a familiar figure approaching it. Sirius smiled as he walked over to him and stepped in his path. “Well, isnt this a first my friend?” He gripped Remus’ shoulder, “And a good one at that! Mind if I join in?”

“A first?” Remus asked, grinning easily the moment he recognised Sirius. “Do you mean a first because I left you alone for five minutes and you managed to stay out of trouble? Because I would agree, that is entirely unheard of.” He laughed, catching his friend’s eye, enjoying the comfort that came with being so close to him. “Join in the selective taking of alcoholic beverages that definitely do not belong to us? I don’t see why not.”

Sirius led the way out of Knockturn Alley towards the Leaky Couldron. Having been here often as a child, he knew many shortcuts that the majority of wizards and witches there werent aware of. They arrived within a matter of minutes. He looked over at Eurydice as the walked through the door, brushing his hair out of his face, “I might’ve caused a little trouble at the Gala.”

His statement prompts a worried expression to grace a normally passive facade. “What sort of trouble?” She began asking as they made their way to sit on one of the secluded tables from anyone who could possibly listen to this delicate conversation.

He really DID NOT want to go to the Black Family Gala. He already had to deal with his family and their Pureblood antics growing up. So why, would he want to go to an event hosted by that so called family primarily based on those beliefs? Sirius looked at the suit layed across his bed and recieved sudden inspiration. Sure, some of his friends wont be there, (another reason why he was going to skip out), but he could still have a good time causing a little trouble with his favorite relative. His mischievous smirk returned as he sent Andromeda a letter and took out his wand. "Looks like I will have fun." @cndyblck

Callan kowalski was doing what he did best. He needed extra money for books and things, so what better way to do that than to preform Christmas songs for all of diagon alley to hear? With his guitar case open for tips, he preformed any upbeat Christmas song he could think of. Then when a person walked up to him he froze “did you have a request?”

Sirius walked down Diagon Alley with a satisfied smirk across his face. Making sure to keep an eye on every thing around him, he strolled down the crowded streets. As he took another turn a cheerful tune floated through the air and happily greeted his eardrums. Sirius let his curiosity take him over and he followed the melody to its source. He stopped in front of the singer and dropped some coins in his case, "Haha, no, I'll trust your taste in music. You're pretty good." He looked the boy over and cocked his head, "Huh, you look familiar. Have we met?" He took a sip of his coffee and raised his eyebrows curiously.

Remus wasn’t usually the drinking type. When there was alcohol involved, he would much rather stay sober and take care of his friends, choose not join them in their reckless and drunken behaviour. But tonight things were different. Not only was the Christmas he had spent with his family heartwarming and uplifting, he had never felt so surrounded by friends, by love and support and good people. The full moon was in ten days, leaving him void of any debilitating symptoms that might otherwise be plaguing him, and he was happy. He felt healthy, which warranted celebrating no matter the time of year, and thanks to the three drinks he had managed to steal in the past hour and a half, decidedly merry too. He was on his way back to the bar when somebody moved to block his path. Unsure as to whether they had done so intentionally, he waited patiently for them to speak.

“I think you must know, that you do have a very readable face, Sirius.” She half-joked, and half warned, but then when he leaned in close to whisper something serious, her demeanor changed with him. Perhaps she was going to have to look at the shop another time. “Right. Probably a good idea.”

He walked down the busy and crowded streets of Diagon Alley, until he found his feet carrying him off on a trail he normally followed while looking for a little mischief. Knockturn Alley was a place introduced to him at a young age, as his parents shopped here frequently for their dark and ancient artifacts decorating his home. Sirius looked above his head and read the sign for Borgin and Burkes. He shrugged and walked in, maybe he could find a few trinkets to hide in the teacher’s desk. As he spyed a few items he accidentally turned around into someone, “Eurydice, long time no see! My apologies for not paying attention.” He slumped against the wall, “I guess it would make sense for me to be there?” He shook his head “ I dont want to have to deal with their Pureblood nonsense.” He produced a sly smile, “And trust me, they dont want me there.”

“No, don’t apologize. That was totally my bad.” Umber irises then look upon the other incredulously; taking note of his somber mood, despite his attempts to mask it with a cheery disposition, she cants her head, studying him for a bit, she then asks; “Did something happen?”

isn’t that SIRIUS BLACK? yeah that is HIM, sitting there at the GRYFFINDOR table with those other SIXTH years and i think i heard sybill saying they look like KIT HARINGTON…. whoever that is! when she looks into her crystal ball she sees a tall and sleek black dog, an old parchment laced with magic, a black motorcycle, long black hair, a mischievous boy, and a dog as a patronous. anyway i’ve heard they’re pretty ADVENTUROUS, OUT-GOING, and BRAVE. apparently they’re a PUREBLOOD but i’m sure that’s not related —  [ Jack : central : 20 : he/him ]

BIOGRAPHY:

Sirius was born into a family that prided themselves on their Pureblood lineage, his parents being second-cousins and dark wizards. He disagreed with the strict beliefs in his family on sustaining the pure-blood line, automatically causing a rift between them. He further defied family tradition when he arrived in Hogwarts, joining Gryffindor instead of Slytherin. To set himself apart from his family and intentionally piss them off he covered his bedroom in Gryffindor decor. An outcast in his family, Sirius searched for a true one of his own within Hogwarts.

HEADCANONS:

- he hated life with his family, showing the most dislike towards his mother, Walburga and his cousin Bellatrix

- to annoy his relatives he hung up Gryffindor banners along with images of motorcycles and female muggles in his bedroom

- Sirius did have a favorite cousin, Andromeda, who was excluded from the family for marrying a muggle-born

- he still inherited some mischievous tendencies and cunningness from his family and pulls some tricks every now and again

- Black is very defensive and supportive of his friends, them being part of the small section of people he truly cares about. He will risk anything for them

- He's smart but rebellious, and people either feel one way or the other about him, even though hes more on the popular side
