Hi Jily fandom!! I have a fic idea and I need to know if anyone would read it before I dive in.

Okay yes, I know it’s kinda basic —canon setting, fifth year and onward — but I want to bring something personal and emotional to it. It’ll be mainly from Lily’s POV, with bits of James and others.

It starts in 5th year, right after that fight between Lily, James, and Snape. Then it follows Lily’s summer, where she’s grieving her parents, dealing with Petunia being awful, and trying to make sense of everything. I really want to explore her badass side — she’s more than just “James’s future wife,” you know??

Back at Hogwarts, James apologizes, and Lily makes him work for it (because…obviously). They eventually get together, but I want to show that their relationship wasn’t some perfect fairy tale — they had struggles, they grew.

THEN, post-Hogwarts: Everyone Lives AU (because we deserve some happiness in this fandom, pls). Voldemort is defeated, and we get to see James and Lily actually build a life, raise their family, and heal.

Main characters include: Lily Evans, James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, Marlene McKinnon, Mary Macdonald, Dorcas Meadowes, Peter Pettigrew, Regulus Black, Frank Longbottom, Alice Foretescue Fleamont & Euphemia Potter — more to come.
