Thrawn dodged out of the way as a bit of blasterfire came towards him now, obviously it looked like the Grand Admiral had turned on his own men however he bared his teeth as he got into a new position to fire, firing on Siro and his own men he didn’t care for the moment, could barely distinguish what should be destroyed and all.

“Sir, Sir! It’s us! We are helping you!” The men shouted. Siro was surprised to see the man panic or something, why else would he kill his own people? He couldn’t be defecting. She didn’t mind though, she took cover and killed all the men. “You just made my job easier.”

He genuinely looked distracted for a little as he looked away for once but he brought his gaze back easily. “No, I won’t… But my brother will. That is why I asked you to contact him when you are done… I never understood politics, have you? I always asked my brother what he saw in it, he said it was a calling… He is a weird man but I am glad he is enjoying his life with his wife… Haven’t met her yet but she sounds like a darling from what my brother has said of her. Oh come on… What are you waiting for? I have nothing to hide, nothing to have foreseen. My brother lies in wait at the Ascendancy for a return I will never make… I’ve met my end and I have accepted it.”

Siro was almost starting to pity him. She frowned and momentarily let her blaster get lower. “You should have left when we went to war.” It was all useless information to her and distracting. “Turn your back to me, I’ll make it swift. Think about your brother or something, because I’m not going to contact him.”

Thrawn gave another shrug to her anyways. “I probably should have, people think I’m the most intelligent man in the Empire but all I did was falsify myself…” At the statement she wasn’t going contact Thrass he panicked, obviously as his eyes widened and he pulled out a datastick and held it out to her. “No… Please. My brother deserves to know, he will care about me… Then call me an idiot, share the information with A’ralani… Please contact him… If you won’t…” He swallowed harshly now. “I understand…” He said, barely above a whisper now, hand dropping a little.

Did she hear right? The grand admiral was begging… This whole thing didn’t seem to fit his persona. He was supposed to be smart but now he wasn’t even trying to get out of it alive. Siro lifted her blaster up again, but then she started hearing something. Footsteps. Many of them. The room was being stormed! Thrawn had just wasted her time. “Fuck!” The doors were cracked open and she had to concentrate her fire on the troopers and officers now instead of Thrawn. She managed to kill many of them, some she had to physically knock out in hand to hand.

Thrawn allowed his heartbeat to go on in his silence, he noted the blaster lifting up and he put the datastick back with a quiet sigh. So this was it… His brother wasn’t going to be contacted about-

He then heard the footsteps himself and he immediately went behind cover to begin his firing. His men… He hadn’t expected them to come in, had they just been about to mutiny against him? Or had they all suspected something? Either way he wasn’t taking this lightly. He was careful and precise in where he wanted to fire breathing as evenly as he could of course at this moment as well…

He hoped this was in his favour and not a distraction for himself.

The grand admiral must have been panicking because he was attacking his own men who were there to help him. Siro didn't mind, she'd take all the help she could to get away. She moved closer to the door and aimed at someone, but then she felt hot pain in her right side. "Ah, fuck..." She cursed again as she saw blood spread through her clothes. She killed the person who shot her though.

Thrawn gave a light shrug. “There is only so much a bravado can portray isn’t there?” He asked, when he heard the blaster tear apart his furniture though he did not allow his anger to rush through him, it would do him no good. He did not answer her yet as he put the cig back in his mouth and then began to draw his own blaster, already being very ready to move as he watched her carefully. “Lets dance, lets see how long I last before I get my blaster out. Oh and can you contact my brother? His name is Mitth’ras’safis… I want you to tell him that I am sorry for choosing this path, and I wish him plenty of luck in his endeavors in being a politician.” He replied now.

It looked like Thrawn was giving up. Siro didn’t mind, it was just making her job easier. She could be merciless, when it came to killing their enemy. “I suggest you put your blaster down, Grand Admiral. No one will care if you die it in your hand or not.” It was a bad idea to prolong it but something about Thrawn now was just... bothering her.

Thrawn gave his own little smirk now. “Your confidence is admirable… It would be more so admirable if there wasn’t at least twenty rifles pointing your way… You should know I choose my grounds very well, you walked into a bait. A blatant bait and yet…” He chuckled quietly. Arrogance shining through as always. He finally took the cig out of his mouth after a little, breathing out a small plume of smoke before watching her carefully with his ruby eyes. “And you felt the need to point at my heart instead of my head? Have you accounted for the fact I am a Chiss, I do move?”

“You expect me to believe that? You’re bluffing.” Siro called out with a huff. She hadn’t seen any places to hide and especially twenty men. That was impossible. She suddenly fired but purposefully missed, letting the blast take a chunk of furniture right next to Thrawn. “I’m not here to compare egos. Any last words before I execute you in the name of the galaxy?”

“So it would seem… Congratulations, it would seem I have met my match. An impressive feat I must concede… But you must know that destroying me won’t destroy the Empire. Grand Moff Tarkin himself might come here and he’s not a civil man, not like I am…” He replied, his pose was still relaxed, not even caring about looking at her as he slowly moved his hand to bring out a cig, placed it into his mouth gently and lit it up.

“And yet you haven’t taken a care for your surroundings have you?”

Siro didn’t let Thrawn’s words waver her confidence. She did glance around to make sure she hadn’t missed anything in her surroundings though. “No, but the Empire will be one important man off again, just like the last one I took out. Or the ones before that...” She was infamous for the Imperials and the rebels were happy to have her. She took a step closer, pointing the blaster at his heart now instead of his head.

He shrugged. “The girl supposedly killed our Supreme Leader, so I do blame her for all of this in some capacity.The thing here is that I don’t get to care anymore.”

“I am going to ignore her so hard when I go back.” Maybe she was petty, but what about all the Resistance members that gave their lives for the good, literally, and have fought for years since they were kids. Siro didn’t appreciate the new comers being called the heroes. They should just join the lines like everyone else. 

“What are your plans now, ex-general? Drink until you die? Isn’t that what imps do?”

“Sounds lovely,” he said. “But I can’t see what they would want with a former general.”

“Former? What, are you telling me you got kicked out?” She huffed. Now that would be an interesting twist.

[askarmitagehux]

“That lunatic took over,” he said gravely. “I assume it’s going to be interesting for your people, indeed.”

[sirominkar]

"The monk guy? Interesting indeed. I've been away from others for a while and suddenly everything changes. Some orphan Jedi girl comes to the picture, then we have an ex-trooper worshipped as a hero, the whole Resistance goes boom because Poe is a shitty leader but he gets away with it, we barely escape. Oh and by the way, Luke Skywalker, another Jedi suddenly appears too and here I am wondering why do I even bother anymore." Siro grunted.

“Sounds lovely,” he said. “But I can’t see what they would want with a former general.”

“Former? What, are you telling me you got kicked out?” She huffed. Now that would be an interesting twist.

askarmitagehux:

He looked back at her, equally dead in his eyes. “Do you think I am scared? Or need I remind you it‘s you who came here up to me? If you want to enjoy your drink, just do and enjoy your drink, as I do with mine.”

“Hmm, agreeable.” She turned back and put her blaster away. “We are taking a few minute vacation from the war. Outside this place though, I’ll drag your ass to Resistance and let them do whatever they do at the base.”

“I suppose,” he said, ordering another drink. “But am I still your enemy? Or am I your enemy for life? Why aren’t you killing me yet, little girl?”

Siro looked forward dead bored and let the bottle of beer drop down between her fingers onto the counter. She slowly turned to Hux and pointed at his balls with a blaster. “Oh I could do something far worse than kill you, carrot top, but I’ve just come back from a mission and am trying to enjoy a drink.”

“How interesting,” he said and drank a bit more. “Do you also have a sixth sense for our names?”

“What kind of Resistance fighter would I be if I didn’t know who my enemy was?” She asked with a huff and a roll of her eyes.

“What makes you think I need my guards? Or that they aren’t here somewhere?” Hux asked, drinking a shot. “Or that I care about talking with you right now?”

“Oh I’d recognize First Order soldiers. Or spies. I’ve shot so many of them dead and after a while...you just develop a sixth sense to know who they are.” Siro said passively and drank her beer from a bottle.

He laughed softly and shook his head. She seemed to be expecting torture next, but she was mistaken. Pain could be useful, but it was not always the most efficient method of interrogation. 

“Perhaps you know this already, but when designing Starkiller, we considered several different locations. We ultimately decided on an unpopulated planet for the sake of secrecy and simplicity, but we collected a great deal of information about the other potential places.” He spoke casually, completely changing the subject. 

“For example, we considered Dantooine as a candidate for the weapon. We could have saved resources by converting the old Republic base into our own,  but the population of the planet would have been difficult to deal with. The humans living on Dantooine are mostly farmers. Did you know that?”

Siro noticed the sudden change of the subject, and she was confused. Also the way the general spoke and behaved had her unnerved. It couldn’t mean anything good. Only people who knew they really had the upper hand completely acted that way.

And then he mentioned Dantooine. She froze. Dantooine was her home planet. Of course she knew. Her family were a line of farmers. And now she had to be careful. Did Hux know who she was, and that Dantooine was her home?

“Humans of Dantooine live in peace, keep to their own and just farm! The planet doesn’t even have that much valuable metals! You wouldn’t dare to go there, it would make the war worse.” She couldn’t bare thinking her own family in the middle of the war.

“Stay away from Dantooine.“

The prisoner was beginning to understand the threat, but Hux needed to clarify it for her. 

“The Order has no need of the planet, as I stated, it was crossed off our list.” He smiled slightly, studying his hands instead of watching her reaction.

“Clearly the Resistance uses covert operatives, thought perhaps not successfully.” He scoffed. “Unlike you, ours don’t get caught. They are highly trained, able to sabotage equipment, collect information, even assassinate targets. It’s not always required, but having someone killed star systems away is not as difficult as you would expect.” 

Pausing, he glanced up at her. “Not even a farmer…. or a family of them are out of my reach.”

Her worst fear had come true. The General had found out her background, and was threatening her family. They were the most important thing to her, even more than the Resistance and she would betray them to save her family.

Siro lunged forward but the binds held her back, painfully digging into her skin when she tried to rip herself free. "You stay away from my family!" She hissed, glaring at the ginger.

"If they get harmed in any way, I will fucking destroy you." She knew her threats meant nothing, Hux had all the power over her now and she was scared what he would make her do because she would do it. The expression on her face showed it. Her back hit the interrogation chair again as she slumped back.

"Please... Don't."

“They’ve had choices, chances to bring peace, yet they’ve failed. Badly.” He began to pace as he spoke, getting caught up in the debate and forgetting he was interrogating a prisoner. 

“Filthy is quite dramatic,” he commented. “I don’t know if you want complete disorder, but it’s what you have. Punishment, eradication is not the goal, having the galaxy fall in line is what is needed. The quicker that happens, the less damage and lives lost. Your Resistance is prolonging the conflict.” 

Siro didn’t mind their interrogation turning into a debate about politics. At least she wasn’t in that much pain. She made a face and turned her head away so she wasn’t looking at the general. When he put it that way…it did sound reasonable and good, in a way, but she didn’t want to admit it. She wouldn’t let herself agree with the First Order. 

“Well, I guess killing me would make it one soldier closer to the goal then, wouldn’t it?” She avoided commenting on the subject any more because she didn’t really have anything to say, only that First Order was wrong and the Resistance right, which would be repetition.

He gave a slight yet satisfied smirk, pleased he’d backed her into a corner. Clasping his hands behind his back once more, he shrugged.

“Possibly, ” he stated. “At this point you are worth more alive. ” She had information he needed, and perhaps she might be turned with a little more persuasion. If she was suggestable, she could be conditioned.

Siro looked at him again, and saw that slight smirk. She was disappointed in herself, that he had managed to quiet her down like that. All she could do was to not give in in the future.

“I’m not going to tell what my mission was, what’s going on with the Resistance, where our bases are… Any questions you might have I won’t be answering them.” She huffed. “And I’m definitely not going to do your bidding.”

“Yes you are,” he countered calmly. “The choice you have is whether you answer my questions willingly or not. You are growing uncertain with what you believe about the Order, I can see that.”

Hux tilted his head, considering. “I can give you time to consider it if you need it.”

"I am NOT giving you anything." She had made up her mind. If Hux wanted something, he'd need to force it out. "And I am not uncertain!" Though her being defensive told otherwise. "Shut your bread hole and don't make so damn pathetic claims!" She snarled, pissed off...
