evermore color palette - “I have no idea what will come next. I have no idea about a lot of things these days and so I’ve clung to the one thing that keeps me connected to you all. That thing always has and always will be music. And may it continue, evermore.”
champagne problems is one of the best songs ever written
But are you still the same soul I met under the bleachers?

it literally blows my fuckin MIND thinking about how this pandemic jolted taylor in a completely different direction to where she was headed. if she’d been able to do lover fest, would she still have made an album that paid no mind to its live performances? would she have made another pop album like lover afterwards??? my brain literally explodes when i think about the trajectory of her career just being. turned on its head like that

takes one to know one, you’re a cowboy like me.
I should’ve asked you questions I should’ve asked you how to be asked you to write it down for me should’ve kept every grocery store receipt ‘cause every scrap of you would be taken from me watched as you signed your name: marjorie all your closets of backlogged dreams and how you left them all to me
Marjorie Finlay (1928-2003)
To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing songs. To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in and my collaborators and I are proud to announce that my 9th studio album and folklore’s sister record is here. It’s called evermore. [x]

“Working with the Haim sisters on 'No Body, No Crime' was pretty hilarious because it came about after I wrote a pretty dark murder mystery song and had named the character Este, because she’s the friend I have who would be stoked to be in a song like that. I had finished the song and was nailing down some lyric details and texted her, 'You’re not going to understand this text for a few days but... which chain restaurant do you like best?' and I named a few. She chose Olive Garden and a few days later I sent her the song and asked if they would sing on it. It was an immediate 'YES.' We can’t figure out why we hadn’t collaborated sooner. We’ve toured together, played live together, choreographed dances like we’re at summer camp, but it took a song about avenging your friend’s murder to give us the idea to take this step. Long story short, I’m the 4th Haim sister now, confirmed."

i just know this is going to be the case
“this pain wouldn’t be for evermore” is the perfect closing line of an album released in 2020

This album really has me saying “there’s a lot to unpack here” like I’m some kind of English teacher
me at the end of every song:
